Chapter six
Levi
“ F uck, Tesoro…” I muttered as the water hit my back.
Standing in my shower, I groaned, almost shuddering as I pictured her on her knees with her plump red lips and big doe eyes staring up at me. Fuck, that image of her kneeling by her couch is going to kill me.
One hand on the shower wall, I leaned my head back in ecstasy as I could picture her perfect little mouth taking my cock with no complaints as she looked up at me innocently. Stroking my dick faster, I bit my lip as I’d finally come undone. So much for a cold shower.
Cleaning up the rest of my body, I stepped out of the shower and wrapped the towel around my waist. Looking at myself in the mirror, I groaned. I am a terrible person.
I drew her in, and now, I need to get her out of my system. One kiss didn’t seem too bad, but she’s all I think about now. When I go to sleep, wake up, eat, shower… it’s like she’s fucking consumed me, and I hate it.
I used to torture people daily without any feeling or remorse... and now, I’m fucking worried about some damn test that little girl has to take and concerned about how much she has to study for it. Fucking pathetic.
Which is why I’ve been trying to ignore her. If not, I wouldn’t be able to stay away. I would try to change myself to fit the man she could want. I would become entirely pussy-whipped… if I’m not already . I had one taste, and now I feel like an addict. Just fucking perfect .
And God, was she an innocent little thing. So concerned about everyone and everything around her. So loving and caring from what I could tell… she even cared about her neighbor, who was so drugged up most of the day that he didn’t even know his own name at times.
And still, she cared about him moving and his bruises and even thought of me as a good person for helping him… Little did she know he was actually paying for his debts and is now dead .
I didn’t care that he was, but if my Tesoro found out it was me who killed him, I don’t think I’d ever be able to forgive myself. Despite the fact that I’d kill anyone to make her happy… even that fucking doctor who made her cry the other day.
And she was so damn beautiful. It pissed me off that other men would have no trouble looking at or speaking to her. She had no idea how fucking adorable and sexy she was. Any man could take advantage of her, including myself.
Which is why I had to stay away. I was losing control and starting to not trust myself around her.
But when I saw the missed text I received from her while I was in the shower, I ignored everything I’d just mentioned and read the message eagerly.
Tesoro: Hi, Mr. Amante. It’s been a few days since we’ve talked, and I don’t want things to be weird between us. If you want, we can just sweep this under the rug. Grayson misses you, and I don’t want to lose a new friend over something that was probably a mistake. Hope to hear from you soon!
I threw the phone to the side in annoyance as I finished getting dressed. A new friend. Do friends imagine other friends whimpering and pleading for a release, or do they imagine degrading them and praising them while they’re being fucked relentlessly? Didn’t think so . So, I decided to do the opposite of what I truly wanted to do. I ignored her and pushed her away from me, which would probably be for the best.
After getting dressed for the day, I made my way downstairs, only to hear my front door being opened.
“ Capo, ” I heard one of my right-hand men, Elliot, call. He was a good friend of mine from my childhood years, and I trained with him as well. He was covered in tattoos, around the same height as me, and worked out like a madman.
“Elliot. What brings you by...” I muttered.
He remained stoic. “Same stupid shit as usual. College kids are filling up your bars and clubs every evening, and some of the guys aren’t happy about it. It’s become a hazard with the Russians coming in for their occasional meetings, and we don’t know when there may be a shootout or potential bloodbath.”
I shrugged as I took a sip of my water. It was a typical thing we often dealt with, college kids trying to get into the club. Unfortunately, the clubbing aspect was secondary as business deals and exchanges took priority.
“Find a way to take care of it… the last thing I need is the police trying to take whatever money they can from me to satisfy the entitled parents of those kids,” I muttered, and he nodded.
“Also, we dropped the thief’s body off at some hospital. Kind of fucked up to cut his arm off and let him watch it bleed out... even for a sadistic fucker like you,” Elliot said, though I knew he found a bit of joy in it too.
“Think of it as a stress reliever.” I shrugged again, leaning against the wall.
“Where did you even get the idea to use that kind of drug?” he asked, and I remained silent as the image of my sweet Tesoro filled my mind once again.
Shaking my thoughts away, I spoke nonchalantly. “Someone told me about it.”
He didn’t say anything in reply, and I tilted my head slightly as I continued, “What hospital did you dump the body at?”
“Goldriver General Hospital. Why?” he asked.
I did my best to breathe evenly as Teegan’s current hospital she was rotating in came out of his mouth. They won’t find anything… and she won’t find anything. All this was simply a coincidence. Besides, I was planning on putting some distance between us anyway… for both of our sake.
“No reason at all,” I muttered, placing the glass in the sink and leaving my home with him following me.
Teegan
Hi, Mr. Amante. It’s been a few days since we’ve talked, and I don’t want things to be weird between us. If you want, we can just sweep this under the rug. Grayson misses you, and I don’t want to lose a new friend over something that was probably a mistake. Hope to hear from you soon!
Mr. Amante: No.
I felt slightly sad as I read his message. I thought we were getting along nicely and had a bit of a connection… maybe I came on too strong, but he kissed me. Obviously, friends don’t kiss. Maybe in his mind, they do? Does he not want to be my friend? Is that why he said no?
I pouted, placing my phone down and leaning my head back as I sat in the library. I was supposed to be studying, but here I was, making a big fuss over a guy who I hadn’t even known for a long time. And who I’m starting to grow a liking to. Gosh… I just need to focus. I should not be worried about guys or kisses… no matter how good he smells .
Beverly walked over to my table and took a seat with her coffee. “Are you ready for Alec’s party next week?” she asked.
I shrugged. “I don’t really know if I should go, Bevs.”
She sighed. “You’ll be with me the whole night! Plus, there’s an after-party at some club nearby, so we won’t even need to be near Alec all night! You agreed already. You better be ready when I pick you up,” she ordered, and I rolled my eyes at her antics.
“Fine, I’ll make sure I’m ready. Happy?” I replied, closing my laptop.
She stood, giving me a side hug. “Very. See you in class,” she said, smiling.
I nodded, packing up all of my books to head to the lecture hall. Sitting in my front seat again, I ignored all the students coming as I prepared for the lecture.
Our professor began soon after, and I focused on the board as I began taking notes. Soon, he left another few practice problems on the board, and after a moment, something was placed in front of me.
I glanced up to see my professor with a few assignments he was returning to the rest of the students. I looked down and smiled as a 95% score was before me. Sure, it wasn’t 100%, but I did great in comparison to the last practice test we’d taken. All thanks to my personal Levi Ackerman . I can’t believe I’m already starting to miss him.
“One good grade doesn’t make you the smartest in the class,” came Alec’s voice, and I turned my head to see him looking at me with a look that seemed annoyed. It seemed he was angry but still seemed disgustingly interested in me somehow.
I gave him a slight pout. “And one bad grade doesn’t make you the dumbest. You’ll do better next time, I promise,” I replied, smiling, and I turned my head as his friends laughed at him. See, I can be funny too.
Soon, class had ended, and I made my way home as I planned to stay in and study the rest of the week to get as much done as possible… meaning my shows with Grayson would sadly have to wait until I was finished with this exam coming up.
After getting ready for the night, I sat at my desk to cram in anything else I needed to work on. My next rotation was going to be in OB/GYN, and I was excited to help deliver little bundles of joy! It was going to be at the same hospital I was working in, and I may have to pop in and out of the emergency room at times, too. I just hoped I wouldn’t run into Dr. Wyatt, though weirdly enough, he hasn’t been all that rude to me lately, and I was grateful for that and also thankful that my last shift with him was yesterday.
Speaking of little bundles of joy, Grayson walked over to me with the handle of the panda mug that Levi was using in his mouth.
“Grayson. Were you in the cabinets again?” I asked him seriously as he placed the mug on the ground softly. I picked him up slowly and shook my head as he purred. “Bad kitty. But I can’t blame you. I miss him too.”
He snuggled into my arms for a moment, and I watched his ears perk up at the sudden noise coming from Mitchel’s door being opened. I walked over to my door with him in my arms, with the slight hope that it may have been Levi, and I paused when I heard different muffled voices.
I looked down at Grayson, and it was clear he was giving me the eyes that said not to go any farther, but curiosity got the best of me… It also killed the cat , but I would never let anything happen to my baby.
I opened the door slowly, and I could hear their voices a bit better. “Fuck, Elliot, it smells like shit in here.”
“Well, that’s what happens when you get drugged up and have to face the consequences, Micah,” the other man said, and I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. Drugged up? Face the consequences? They had to be discussing Mitchel… but he wasn’t doing drugs, or at least I would never imagine him doing them. He just looked like he was going through a rough patch in life and wanted to be left alone.
Elliot spoke again. “Besides, I wouldn’t expect less. The boss was fucking angry.”
“By the way… I noticed he’s been over here a lot lately. It shouldn’t take this long for this kind of job. You don’t think he was distracted, do you?”
“By what? The guy is like a damn—what the hell was that?”
I gasped as I realized the timer for my macadamia nut cookies had gone off.
I went to close the door when a foot was shoved in. I almost let out a scream as I held Grayson closer to me, and the door opened slowly, revealing a third man who had his foot in the door, as well as the two speaking before. Did I mention that they were all just a bit gorgeous? Small details but important ones.
“Why hello,” Micah said with a smile, and I bit my lip as I held Grayson closer.
“Hi,” I whispered.
The two other men said nothing as Micah spoke again. “What’s your name?”
“Teegan...” I muttered unsurely.
Micah leaned against the frame, still smiling with his pearly white teeth and blue eyes. “Well, my name is Micah. This is Elliot, and the man who disrespectfully kept your door open is Nico.”
I nodded slowly.
Micah was a classic blonde with blue eyes but was the opposite of the typical suffer boy in terms of style. Nico was a bit more tan with a buzz cut, while Elliot had dark, straight hair and brown eyes. All three of them were very muscular and had jawlines that looked sharper than knives.
“Oh, okay… are you friends of Mr. Amante?” I asked, subtly noticing the empty trash bags in their hands.
The three of them looked at one another before looking back at me.
“You could say that,” Nico muttered.
“He was helping Mitchel move. I think he left already… Are you getting the rest of his stuff?” I questioned.
Micah nodded slowly as he replied somewhat cautiously, “Yes, we are.”
I nodded and gasped as I remembered my cookies in the oven. I let Grayson down and ran over to the kitchen to take out the platter.
Thinking I should be friendly, I set aside three cookies on a plate and walked over to the door to see the men now looking down at Grayson weaving through their legs. Elliot was the first to look back up at me, though I noticed he hadn’t said a word to me yet.
“Any friend of Mr. Amante is a friend of mine… at least, I think we’re friends. Anyway, here you go,” I said, offering them each a cookie. They looked down at the plate in confusion. I furrowed my eyebrows. “They’re cookies. They’re made for eating,” I whispered, unsure if they knew what to do.
Nico and Micah both picked one up. Elliot remained still as the two men took a bite, and Micah’s eyes rolled to the back of his head dramatically.
“Fuck, this is good,” he said, and Elliot turned away. I sighed internally as he didn’t seem to like me.
Micah grabbed the last cookie and turned his head to see Elliot walking away. “I’ll give this to him, sugar… don’t you worry your pretty little head.” He spoke sincerely, and I nodded slowly.
“If you see Mr. Amante… can you tell him I said hi and that I’m sorry for anything I did that made him upset,” I said softly.
Nico finished the cookie as he continued looking at me with confusion. “I genuinely doubt that you could ever do anything to make him upset. Regardless, we’ll tell him you said hi,” he muttered and nudged Micah slightly as they went to find Elliot.
Grayson jumped into my arms, and I cooed at him softly as I closed the door. I just made two and a half friends… I’m sure Elliot will come around soon enough to make it a full three.
