Chapter twenty-six

Teegan

L ying in bed, I woke up to hear the sound of running water in the bathroom. The sun was beginning to rise as it was still early, and I felt a slight ache between my legs.

Sitting up slowly, I looked down to see many love bites and minor bruises on my waist… indicating last night was anything but a dream. Hearing the water shut off, I pulled the blanket up to my chest and watched as Levi exited the bathroom in just his boxers.

“My Tesoro,” he muttered and walked over to me slowly.

Pulling me over to him, I wrapped my arms around his torso as he petted my hair softly.

“Good morning… how are you feeling?” he asked.

“Sore... but good,” I said shyly, and he chuckled as he pulled the blanket from me, leaving me bare.

“Good. I have a surprise for you,” he muttered, and I blushed as he picked me up in bridal position while I did my best to hide my exposed self.

He opened the bathroom door, and I smiled as the bathroom held candles and a full breakfast with the jacuzzi filled with bubbles. He set me down on my two feet, and I blushed as he wrapped his arms around me from behind, caressing my skin.

“I was thinking we could watch the sunrise, have a bit of breakfast, and possibly a little… fun before we go sightseeing, hmm?” he asked, and I basically throbbed at his insinuation as I shook my head.

“I’m sore,” I whispered in response.

He hummed as he took off his boxers and grabbed my hand as we got in the tub together. I lay against his chest as he slowly washed my body.

Helping him wash my hair, I lay back once again when I was finished, feeling his… excitement continuing to grow the longer we stayed in the tub.

“Tesoro... would you be a doll and grab my shampoo for me, please?” he asked, and I nodded, pulling away as I stood, leaning away from him as the shampoo was across the tub. Feeling his hands on my waist, I heard him groan as he slowly pushed his length into me, causing me to drop his shampoo in the tub.

“Levi...” I whined as he began filling me gradually, and he groaned.

“Are you saying no?” he asked, and I bit my lip as I moved my hips slightly, gripping the edge of the tub. Part of me wanted to say no and I knew he would immediately abide by my wishes. However, I was quiet as my core throbbed in a mix of pain and pleasure.

He snaked his hand around my neck and jerked me back against his chest as I moaned.

“That’s what the fuck I thought,” he replied, and he wrapped his other arm around my waist before pulling out slightly and slamming his hips into mine.

Letting out a somewhat high-pitched squeal, I moaned softly as he continued slamming his hips into mine at an unbearable speed. Bringing my hands up, I placed them in his hair and whimpered as he continued his assault, never letting up.

“You feel so fucking good…” he moaned in my ear, and I shook slightly as I came undone. His thrusts only got harder, and I whimpered as I felt overstimulated.

“Fuck, I could get used to this shit. Taking all of my cock like a good little girl... I’m so proud of you, Tesoro,” he praised, and I felt my stomach flip once again as I wanted to cum again. His hand tightened around my neck, and the lack of air made me even more floaty as I was lost in pleasure.

“Already? Go ahead, baby, let it out, fucking squeeze my cock... Good girl,” he praised me once again, and I trembled as he snapped his hips a few times before releasing inside of me. Bringing my arms down, I lay on his shoulder as he placed a few kisses on my neck.

“Tesoro,” he muttered as my eyes felt like closing, and I opened them as I heard him chuckle.“Can’t be putting you to sleep this early in the day, hmm? Let’s eat some breakfast and get cleaned up.” He ran his thumb over my cheek and I nodded softly before we ate as we continued to watch the sunrise.

After about an hour, I was sitting in front of the mirror in one of the cute little sun dresses I’d packed as I combed my damp curly hair to put it into a ponytail. Hearing my phone ring, I looked over to see a FaceTime call from Micah. Answering, I cooed softly as Grayson’s little face filled the screen as he leaned in closer.

“Hi, my baby, are you okay?” I asked him, and he meowed softly. Tears came to my eyes involuntarily as he lay by the phone and purred. “I miss you too, baby,” I whispered to him, and he continued purring as I combed my hair.

“Grayson! Fuck, where is that little shit? Can’t even cook a piece of salmon in peace,” I heard Micah yell in the background, and it took me a moment to realize that Grayson was actually hiding somewhere in a corner.

“Grayson. Are you being a bad kitty?” I asked him seriously, and he turned away as I heard a door open.

“There you are. Did you eat the fish off the stove?” Micah asked him seriously, to which Grayson simply meowed in response. Micah tsked, and soon his head came into frame.

“You can’t call your mom either to help you out of this mess,” he said, picking up both Grayson and the phone, and I glared at the little kitty who tried to look innocent.

“Grayson. That is a bad kitty!” I scolded.

I heard someone else in the background.

“The little fucker had me chasing him down the street yesterday. Got out through the kitchen window,” Nico said, and I felt a presence behind me as Levi responded.

“Language,” he simply said, and I sighed heavily as I looked at Micah through the phone.

“I’m sorry, guys. I promise he knows better.”

“Don’t sweat it, sugar… He just misses you, and with the constant play fights between him, Elliot, and Nico, I can tell he’s happy... just annoying,” he muttered.

I giggled as I listened to them bicker about how they were going to come up with what to eat for dinner… which was happening at one AM in their local time.

Bidding them goodbye, I finished up my hair and leaned up to look at Levi, who was dressed in a loose white button-up with white pants. It was different to see him in such light clothing, but it definitely suited the vacation environment. He held his hand out, and I grabbed it to stand.

“You look so adorable, Tesoro...” he muttered, and I blushed slightly as he placed a small kiss in my hair. Hearing a knock at the door as he led me to the kitchen island, I took a seat as he groaned, and I looked up at him in question. He placed his hand in his pocket as his phone buzzed and pulled it out to look at the message.

“The men I am here doing business with need to speak with me before we meet this evening. It’ll only take a couple of minutes or so,” he said, irritated, and I nodded as he placed a final kiss on my lips before pulling away and walking over to the door.

He exited as he began to speak Italian, and I focused my attention back to where I was sitting.

I went to scroll on my phone when my eyes caught something. Levi’s phon e... He had placed it on the counter by his jacket before stepping outside.

Don’t do anything stupid.

Glancing outside the window, I saw them speaking a bit farther away, and I stood carefully as I went over to his phone. It was dark grey... the color of the new phone I had suspected him of getting. His old one was jet black.

He got a new phone...

Don’t do anything stupid.

When he gave me his phone to put in my number, it was jet black. Whenever he’s used at my apartment, it’s been jet black... when he let me read his messages to Mitchel…

But he got a new phone.

Turning on the phone, I was met with a picture... It was taken when I’d spent the night at his house and cuddled with Grayson on the couch. It wasn’t password-protected, so I could scroll through his messages. Despite it being his new phone, I was still able to pinpoint the texts he had shown me in the car.

I was also able to notice he had pinned my name at the top of his list and had a picture of my work schedule I’d given to him as well. Nothing seemed too incriminating on surface-value, but I had a gut feeling that told me to keep going.

Looking over to his jacket, I bit my lip.

Don’t do anything stupid.

He doesn’t have a second phone. It’s his only phone, and he didn’t lie to you.

Don’t overthink things. Don’t. You were just having a good morning. You’re stress-free. Ignore Theodore. Enjoy your time with Levi.

Ignoring my thoughts, I reached my hand into his pocket and felt only his wallet on the left side. Going into the right side, my heart sank to my stomach as I felt something thin and sleek in my hand.

Pulling it out, I took heavy breaths as I was met with a jet-black phone. Upon turning it on, I noticed everything about it was in Italian… But his messages were still in English . And even though the phone was password-protected, I was able to coincidently read a recent notification that made me feel like throwing up the breakfast he gave me this morning—a message that oddly wasn’t present in the phone he now felt comfortable to have lying around near me.

Elliot: The kid’s father is fucking cheap. I’ll tell him to hurry and send the money. Not that it really matters... but he’s taking up space in the basement and is really starting to piss me off.

Staring at the phone in shock, goosebumps rose on my skin as the door opened and closed. Hearing footsteps approach slowly, Levi ignored me as he walked over to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of whiskey, pouring it into a glass.

I placed the phone on the counter, and he took a sip as I whispered, “You lied.”

He sighed. “You weren’t supposed to see that,” he said nonchalantly, and I felt my spine pull straighter as my breathing continued to pick up.

“Mitchel, the man from the hospital... A-Alec. I-is it all true?” I asked him, and he remained silent... however, my racing thoughts were anything but.

Mitchel. Lidocaine. Trash bags. Blood. Killing.

I told Mr. Madison that no one had been up here. Why did I lie?

Elliot and Levi said to be quiet.

Mitchel. Lidocaine. Trash bags. Blood. Killing.

Teegan.

“Say hi to Mr. Amante for me, will you?”

“ Alec, huh...? Don’t worry, Tesoro. He will be taken care of.”

Mitchel. Lidocaine. Trash bags. Blood. Killing.

Teegan...

Looking over at him, my throat went dry as he now had a truly sinister look in his eyes, one that I had never been exposed to. It triggered a sense of fight or flight in me, one that almost forced me out of my seat and wanted me to run… like prey running from a predator, from potential danger.

His all-white attire was almost like a facade, some sort of deception, indicating that darkness truly can come in different forms.

TEEGAN. RUN.

Jumping off the chair, I sped over to my suitcase in the bedroom and quickly threw my belongings into my bag. My hands were shaky, sweaty, my heart was racing, and I felt like vomiting.

I heard his slow, ominous footsteps, and I ignored him as he leaned against the door frame, sipping his drink as he watched me frantically rush around the room in a panic.

Placing the glass down, he spoke in a monotone. “Tesoro... we still have yet to finish our sight-seeing. I know how excited you were this morning.”

I ignored looking into his eyes as I continued. “I...I-I’m calling a cab and going to the airport. I-I want to go home,” I sputtered nervously.

He entered the room a bit more, causing my heart rate to quicken.

“We still have a couple of days left… no need to rush, baby,” he responded a few feet closer.

I finished zipping up my luggage as I looked over at him in disbelief. “You... killed them and... Alec,” I said, almost out of breath.

He responded, shaking his head, “Those men deserve exactly what I did... And don’t worry about that little boy, Tesoro. I did what I had to do to keep you happy and safe.”

Happy? Safe? Did he really think this casual manipulation and extreme gaslighting would keep me happy or safe? I nearly lose my mind every time I force myself to not overthink everything that’s happen, lying and gaslighting myself into believing he wasn’t as dangerous as the world and my brain made him out to be.

I narrowed my eyes at him.

“That doesn’t change the fact that you made me feel like I was crazy after... murdering two men and kidnapping another. I’m going home,” I said with finality and walked around him as I approached the door.

In almost a split second, I felt something wrap around my neck, and my hands dropped all of my belongings as they found one of his that was wrapped tightly around my throat.

Staring at the open door, part of me couldn’t believe I wasn’t stepping through it right now. Part of me was confused as my breathing slowed slightly. Another part of me was absolutely terrified of what would happen next.

I did my best to pry his fingers off, but my efforts were futile as he tightened his hold and pulled me closer to him.

“And just where… the fuck… do you think you’re going, little girl?” he asked with a hint of confusion and amusement. My eyes widened slightly and I didn’t say anything as he leaned in closer and sighed by my ear. In contrast to my rightfully panicked demeanor, Levi was surprisingly calm and collected, not including the slight death grip he had around my airway.

I guess any master manipulator would be as calm as he was.

As comical as it sounded, my “life” seemed to flash before my eyes as a specific memory of us in the past came rushing back.

“Are you a dangerous person, Mr. Amante?” I asked him softly, and he remained silent as he studied my facial expressions. “You have a way with words, are surprisingly calm almost all the time, and have a few slight manipulation tactics that you use with me.”

…Don’t forget the man was just trying to subtly manipulate you earlier! Shouldn’t we think about the consequences of him being here first?!

Sure, but... we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

I could feel the tears pooling in my eyes as I stared helplessly at my unreachable escape. I am so stupid.

“Here’s what you’re going to do,” Levi whispered, his voice sending shivers down my spine once more. “You’re going to unpack your suitcase, put on your cute little sandals, and walk your pretty ass outside so we can continue our day. Do anything other than what I just said, and we’re going to have a fucking problem. Do I make myself clear?” he questioned, and I whimpered as his hand tightened around my jugular.

Gulping softly, I nodded my head after a moment, giving him the answer I knew he wanted to hear and the only answer that could save me in that moment.

“Y-yes.”
