Chapter 2

Two

“You know, you should have let me be the one to go to her—to bring her back to us. After all, I was the one who found out she was here.” Matteo’s breath was hot in Ines’ ear, while his fingers disappeared under the skirt she wore. He teased her, toying with her pleasure as the bass from the music being played in the room vibrated against their skin. She was soaked and ached for a release both her men had denied her before they had come to Delightful Treats. The torment had left her needy and ready to climb into Matteo’s lap—his resolve to give in to her weaker than Justice’s—but she wanted to stay focused on why they were here.

Years of planning, years of searching for their little doll had finally come to fruition, and there was nothing getting in the way of what they were all after.

“She isn’t yours. She was never yours,” Michael grunted at the pain inflicted on his body.

Ines tsked under her breath. All this death and destruction and time wasted because a father didn’t want to part with his only daughter unless he could pawn her off for more power.

“That’s the thing, Michael. She was mine—ours—even without the marriage promise our families had in place. You should have never conceded if you had no plans to keep the peace.”

Michael’s chuckle was filled with pain, and it made Ines’ blood boil. He looked so fragile and broken, just the way he left her father.

“You talk of peace, and yet you’re bringing war to my door? Burned the rest of the families to the ground, and for what? She’ll never come to you.”

Ines moaned low in her throat when Matteo sank his teeth into her neck. The pain and pleasure pulled her from the past, only to get lost in her present. She never would have dreamed that little Yesina Valdez would be working in a strip club, but thanks to the shitty ass guardian she had, her money had been nonexistent. This was the quickest way for her to get cash. Unfortunately, something had kept her in town, making Ines and her Skeleton Men have to come to collect her.

“Justice is taking too long. How do we know tonight’s going to happen?” He murmured, adding another finger inside of her. Her body shook with a need to touch him, but he used his tie to keep her hands bound, knowing if she had free rein, he wouldn’t be able to keep the leash on his control.

“You know why Justice had to be the one.” She gasped when he moved his fingers faster inside of her. “She’s had you—spent nights in your bed and in your brother’s tattoo shop.” She turned to look at him, to take in the scar under his eye and the one just above his full lips. She’d known him since they were in diapers, had seen him go through his awkward preteen years with everyone telling him he’d need to put on weight if he was going to take the role that was meant for his older brother in the organization.

Matteo Arroyo’s family had been close to her own, closer than the other families. His brother should have been an enforcer like her own, but his father had let his eldest son follow his dreams—pushing him out of a lifestyle that got him killed anyway.

Matteo scoffed. “She spent only two nights in my bed before her piece of shit father ripped her away from us,” he whispered against her skin. “Besides, I was never in the shop that often. Pops had me—” the sound of a door opening cut his words off. They both held their breath and looked toward the two-way mirror.

The back rooms in Delightful Treats were on the small side, except for one—the one Justice and Yesina were currently entering. It was the only room that let other customers come in and watch what went on in said room. It was the perfect set up for anyone who enjoyed watching because what went on in these rooms never stopped at dancing.

Ines held her breath, unable to stop the way her heart lurched into her throat. It had been years since she’d seen Yesina in person. The photos she had when she was tracking her didn’t do her justice, and it was like she was looking at her for the first time.

The version Ines had of her in her memory shattered on the spot. She was older, her body filled out more. Either her breasts were fuller or the top she wore was a size too small, making them seem like they were overflowing—perfect to fill her hands with. Her stomach was soft, and even though she’d always been on the shorter side, her legs seemed to run on for miles. Her brown locks were in two braids, and going by the photos Ines had, she seemed to favor that hairstyle the most. Those big brown eyes were scanning the room, and they were still so expressive. She was nervous but determined to see through whatever she had agreed to.

“She looks exactly the same and yet everything seems different about her,” Matteo murmured, easing his fingers out of Ines to fully face the two-way mirror. He whistled low in his throat, “Now I’m doubly mad you let Justice go to her first.”

Ines chuckled, even though she felt the same way. The need to be the one to rescue her from this life she wouldn’t have chosen for herself was strong. From the moment Ines’ father told her what was going on, she had been ready to rush out the door and find where her little doll had been sent to hide.

Yesina was hers, just as Matteo and Justice were. All she wanted was to have her back in her arms, completing the missing parts of her, but not before she made her beg.

The war Yesina’s father brought to them had been long and hard. There had been too many causalities—too many lives lost because of one man’s greed. Too many years had passed since Ines had seen her little doll, and she wondered how her father’s lies would affect how she viewed them now.

“We’re really all going to be together, aren’t we, Ines?”

“Yes, mu?equita. You and me and Matteo and Justice. One big happy family.”

They were once promised to each other, but Ines knew how easily promises could be broken.

“You’ll get your reunion, Matteo,” Ines shifted on the couch, drawing his attention away from the two-way mirror, “soon.” She whimpered when his hands were back on her body. “You know the game plan, and we’re finally here after all this time. Let Justice do what he needs to do. Let him bring her home. We will get our chance. For now, let’s see how much she enjoys him.”

Justice walked behind Yesina. His eyes glued to the swell of her ass in her barely-there shorts. The sway of her hips, a hypnotic dance that flowed in time with the music bumping through the club. His body was rock-hard, and there was an underlying current flowing between them that made it hard for him to keep his attention on his surroundings. He wanted to be fully immersed in her but couldn’t, not until they were behind closed doors, and even then he couldn’t fully dive into her the way he wanted to.

There was someone here—someone watching him too closely.

He caught the attention of the dancers he turned down—could feel their curious stares on his back. But where their gazes were heated with hunger, there was another sensation filling the air, making his palms itch to reach for the knife he kept strapped to his ankle since he left his guns at the place he called home for now.

Another monster lurks in the dark.

The man started coming in as soon as Justice found Delightful Treats. He was there just as much as Justice was, and at first, he didn’t want to think anything of it. This was the only strip club in the area that catered to a more carnal desire, but a predator always knew when another one walked into their space.

This man kept to the right side of the club, his preferred section too dark for anyone on the other side of the club to make out, but Justice still saw him. He usually kept the same dancers close to him too, never straying from his usual appetites nor going into the back rooms like most of the customers who frequented Delightful Treats. Diamond had been one of the mysterious man’s favorite dancers, and she only started sniffing Justice out because she’d been sent his way.

If the tattoos on the guy’s hands were anything to go by, he’d been part of a rival family, the Scorpions. They were the same family Michael had teamed up with to take out not only Justice’s family but Matteo’s and Ines’ as well. That partnership had broken years of peace and destroy the wealth and prosperity Justice had grown accustomed to. Now there was only blood and bones turned to dust left in East Grantshot.

The price Michael paid for his greed had been a hefty one. Not only had Justice’s family been destroyed, but watching his best friend, Xavier, Ines’ brother die at the hands of the Scorpions made it almost impossible to not act on his need for revenge. The only reason he hadn’t blown his cover had been because of the woman walking in front of him. The woman he had intended to collect his debt from.

Justice stopped short when Yesina whirled around on him as if she heard the thoughts in his mind. She eyed him, chewing on her full bottom lip. He waited for some type of recognition to flicker through her wide gaze. He’d been disappointed when he didn’t see it at the mention of his name, but it had been fourteen years since they had last seen each other, and before then, he had been preoccupied, learning what it meant to become death.

They hadn’t spent much time together—a regret he hoped he could make up for now. He had a crush on her when he was younger but never knew how to approach her or do anything about it, especially not after his first kill. He didn’t believe she could want him with blood on his hands, not until Ines.

“Um,” Yesina hummed, and he watched her throat as she swallowed. Her eyes darted around the room before settling back on him. She was nervous, but he couldn’t tell if that nervous energy was because she was alone with him or something else.

Did she sense she was being watched by the Scorpions? Had they already reached out to her, eager to claim what was never theirs?

Justice’s blood heated at the thought of someone else touching her in the way he planned to touch her once they passed the threshold between the main room and the VIP rooms.

He leaned forward, bringing his lips to her ear. He kept his hands to himself, but it made him feel good when she got closer and leaned her head back, offering herself up to him. “If you’re unsure, mu?equita, speak up. I don’t want to do anything you’re uncomfortable with.”

He went to pull back to give her space, but her hands were wrapped in his shirt, keeping him in place. “No,” her voice was breathless as she spoke, “I just needed to make sure the floor is covered before I disappeared for however long we will be.” Her hand slipped down his chest, and a low rumble was ripped from his throat.

Her hands on him awakened something dark inside of him, and he quickly wrapped his hand around her wrists, stopping her little exploration before he took her here in front of everyone. “Easy. You keep this up and we won’t make it to the back rooms. I have no problem ripping those flimsy shorts off your delectable body and showing everyone what true pleasure looks like—how to properly be fucked,” he ground out, feeling his cock throb behind his zipper.

Yesina’s eyes flared and she licked her lips, sending whatever blood was left in his upper region south. “You wouldn’t mind an audience?” she whispered, shifting on her feet.

He brought her hands above her head and walked her back until she was pressed firmly against the nearest wall. He knew who waited for him in the back, knew what plans had been set in motion, but he had zero issues throwing everything out the window if she asked him to take her right here and now.

“An audience doesn’t mean shit to me,” he whispered, leaning close enough that his lips hovered over hers. “My focus would only be on you—touching and tasting you.” He slowly swiveled his hips, letting her feel how hard she made him.

The slight catch in her breath had him moving, pushing his thigh in between her legs. The move hitched her up on her toes, and the gasp she let out had goosebumps dancing across his skin.

This was a dangerous game—especially with the eyes he could feel on him, but reasoning and caution were long gone when she started grinding herself on his thigh.

“Looks like you wouldn’t mind the audience either, mu?equita. You want all these people to see how quickly I can make you scream for me, how good it will feel when you’re dancing on my tongue and my cock?”

She whimpered, and he could feel his control slipping. All she had to do was say the words and he’d be balls deep in her—fucking her like he was trying to leave the imprint of his cock inside of her. “Tell me, mu?equita. Tell me how badly you want me to fuck you, and I’ll show everyone in here how well you fit around me.”

“Justice,” her dark eyes had gone even darker if that was possible, and the way she whimpered his name felt like heaven and hell all at once. He’d been denied her for so long it was almost torture having him wait any longer.

“Say it. Tell me what you want,” he growled, needing her more than his next breath.

“We should go to the back.” She blew out a breath. “Quickly.”
