Chapter Twenty-Nine
Lindsay
B y the time we’d explored every inch of the festival grounds and made it back to the brewery, the party was already in full swing.
A large cheer from our regulars and staff filled the air as we poured through the door that made me so incredibly proud of what we’d created.
Everywhere we went today, people had stopped us and gushed over our new labels and seasonal selection, and when we stopped by to grab drinks at the tent, it was apparent that business was booming.
With all the craziness, we had still managed to make the timelines for distribution and our shipments were scheduled to be delivered all over the state tomorrow.
“You’ve created something special here,” Gary, one of Spencer’s dads said, looking around at the place with awe.
“We do our best,” Dustin said. “We have a booth in the corner that’s always reserved as a friends and family table, why don’t y’all head on over there and we’ll grab you some flights so you can try a little of everything.
Spencer’s parents headed over, Dinah lacing her arm through Alice’s to take her with. It warmed my heart to see how they’d already taken her in. After the loss of the triplet’s dad, I worried about her occasionally. But she had proven she was just as resilient as her sons.
My pack and I headed over to the bar, checking in with our staff real quick before Dustin and Spencer took a few boards of flights over to the parental units.
“You doing okay there, firefly?” Adam asked, watching me closely.
I nodded. “I’m good, really good actually. Today has been amazing honestly, just a little peopled out.”
“Ahh,” Adam said, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me to his chest, blocking out the world for a moment. “Ollie went to grab something from the office. We have one more surprise and then we’ll head home.”
“Home sounds good,” I said, placing a kiss on his chest and draggin in a greedy gulp of his caramel-latte scent.
Ollie came up a moment later wrapping his arms around me and sandwiching me in a hug between them. “I’m so damn excited, I hope he loves it.”
“Hope who loves what?” I asked, just as Spencer and Dustin came to join us.
“Hope that Spencer here loves our new label,” Dustin said, clearly in on the secret. “Did you get it?”
“Yep!” Ollie said, pulling out a rolled print I hadn’t seen tucked in his back pocket and handing it over to our alpha. “We wanted to do a little something to show you how much you mean to us.”
Spencer unrolled the scroll, the branding for our IPA cans on full display. It took me a second to find the update, but when I did, I couldn’t help the wide grin on my face.
Spencer’s fingers traced over the new pack silhouette that now featured five figures instead of four. “How?”
“You gave us their contact information when we had to sign off on the run,” Adam said. “We had them make the update a couple of weeks ago. The first shipment has the old labels, but from here on out, all the new ones will have this. I know it’s already official, but welcome to Pack Drake, man.”
Emerald eyes turned glassy as Spencer pulled Adam in for a hug, the two of them roughly back patting each other before Spencer did the same to Dustin. Of course, he ended it with pulling Ollie and I both into his arms and smothering us with his love until I was squirming in ways I couldn’t handle in our place of business.
Well, at least not again. We didn’t have the excuse of a blizzard or a heat to kick everyone out right now.
“Let’s go home,” Adam said. “We’ve got one more surprise.”
“I thought that this was the surprise?” I said, as we all made our way out to the truck.
“That was more of a surprise for Spence,” Ollie said. “We’ve got one more for you.”
Anticipation built as we made the quick trip home, and if I was honest with myself, I was really hoping this was some kind of steamy seduction that ended with all of us in bed together.
Ever since I had helped Ollie through his heat I’d dreamed of the day I’d get the opportunity to have all my guys together. Now that I’d let myself have what I’d been fighting for all these years, I’d grown a little bit insatiable.
I was already planning my seduction when we walked through the front door. Adam and Dustin already had their hands linked through mine, but instead of leading me upstairs to our rooms, they led me out to the back patio and opened the sliding door.
Ollie reached for the light switch.
My knees almost bucked at the sight, the guys’ grips on me tightening as I saw the rows of string lights leading back to a familiar sight.
“How?” I asked, my feet stepping forward to where my tiny home was now situated in the far back of our yard.
“When we told you we were working on things for the festival, we included this in it,” Adam said. “It’s not finished, but we wanted to try and have it in somewhat working shape for you.”
“We’ve been a pack all along, but something about this night feels like a start to our next chapter,” Dustin said. “Everyone is where they need to be now, bonded and happy.”
I caught the look Spencer gave my beta, before he turned toward me. “Ready to take a look?”
“Hell yeah.”
Making it to the front door in no time at all, anticipation coiled in my stomach once again as I turned the knob and let myself in, my pack supportive behind me.
The sight before me was such a welcome relief from the previous memory I’d had of my tiny home. Instead of an empty mess and tearing wallpaper, I was greeted to serene cerulean walls and actual furniture in my space.
My pack gave me a moment of silence letting me explore the space on my own, looking at all the little touches they’d put in. The furniture was all white with little touches of boho accessories.
There was a huge macrame swinging chair and a bookshelf full of some of my favorites. The overhead lighting was off and soft, Edison bulbs filled the space with a warm glow. The kitchenette was converted into a coffee bar with all the mix-ins. Everything was soft and cozy, the perfect mix for the small space.
But it was the photos on the wall that really did me in. Pictures of me and the triplets over the years hung on the wall, along with ones that Spencer had taken of us these past few months. They’d even put a picture of my parents on the wall and one of me and Alice.
They still considered my tastes, and I found tiny frames scattered with lyrics throughout the space. Judging by some of the lyrics I recognized, I knew Dustin had been responsible for that.
“The second part of the surprise is that Jason is officially very much in jail,” Dustin said, breaking me out of my musings. “A friend of Hunter’s found him a few states over.”
“Honestly, as awesome as that is to hear,” I said, looking around at the place. “This is so much more.”
“We know you have a room at the house, but we also know how much this place means to you and that you like your own space sometimes to decompress,” Adam said in explanation.
“Who did this?” I asked, looking at the small mural of leaves that ran up the corner of the wall by the leather couch they added.
“That would be me,” Spencer said, running a hand through the hair on the back of his head. “I was trying to mimic the vines that Ollie set up in your room. But like Adam said, it’s not done, whatever you want to do with the space we can.”
Ollie nodded. “Just say the word and it’s yours.”
I looked around the space knowing there was only one thing I needed in it at the moment.
“Just a word and anything I want is mine?”
“Of course, firefly,” Adam said, my pack all nodding in agreement.
Sliding past them in the tight space, I opened the door, looking back to them with a heated smile.
“I want the five of us. Together. Right now.”
