ATHENA
“Follow me.”
I walk behind him and he turns to me. “In front. I don’t trust you.”
I move in front of him. “You shouldn’t.”
He reaches around me and wraps his hand around my throat, and pulls my back against his front. “Careful, Butterfly. Your expert cock sucking skills won’t save you. I won’t kill you right now, but that doesn’t mean I won’t hurt you. And if you can’t behave, you’ll go back to the cage. Is that what you want?”
“No,” I whisper when he removes his hand. He wasn’t really causing me pain, but I don’t have any doubt that he will. I believe every word of his warning, but if he’s expecting me to obey his every command, he’s going to be disappointed. No matter what anyone has ever done to me, I’ve never been that person, and I’m not going to start now. Of course, I do plan on not going back into the cage. I’d rather he beat me, or even break a few bones, than to go back to the metal hell.
We step into what looks like a large living room. Jesus, how much money does this guy have? The ceilings all have crown molding. I glance up at the ceiling with a gasp, as I spot the large mural that is nothing short of breathtaking. It has images of several Greek Gods and Goddesses, including Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt and Moon. The recessed lighting throughout the ceiling lights it up with such beauty. She looks fierce, holding a bow in her hand, with a full moon behind her. Turning around, I spot three large bay windows side by side. I walk further in the room to spot a fireplace. The top appears to be made of stone, but the bottom looks like marble. There’s an emblem in the bottom middle portion of the stone, hand carved, three skulls, one with a crown and wings on the side.
Bones points to the spiral staircase. “Up.”
I walk to the staircase, and am again astonished by the amount of money in his home. It’s wrought iron, with metal flowers throughout, and dark wood covering the railing. Once we make it to the top, I gasp. The entire upstairs has the same wrought-iron railing throughout, and you can see the entire side of the house we were on, almost like a balcony in a theater. It’s impressive.
“This house is amazing, Bones.”
He smirks at me. “I know. If you can behave yourself, you’ll get to enjoy it.”
We walk down a hallway into a large bedroom, and more gorgeous decorating greets me. The ceiling is a dark blue, that seems to be mixed with a lighter blue, and more recessed lighting. There’s a king-size bed with black sheets against the wall furthest from the door. There’s another bay window, as well as a set of doors that appear to go to a balcony.
Bones takes my hand and pulls me into the bathroom, causing me to gasp again. My father is not poor, but I’ve never seen a home like this, although I wasn’t allowed to travel much. I glance around the room, taking in the shower large enough for six people. It’s done in earthy colors and looks like marble. There’s a large jacuzzi tub across from it with four stone pillars around it, and gold taps. I wonder momentarily if the taps are actual gold, because it seems he certainly has enough money to do something so ridiculous. There’s a vase of roses on each side of the steps leading up to the tub. They must be fake, because I don’t think blue roses are real, but they don’t look fake.
He chuckles as he turns on the shower. “Have you been living in a cave, Butterfly? You act like you’ve never seen a nice house before.”
“Something like that. ”
Is he taking a shower with me? I have been fucked many times, but I’ve never showered with a man. It seems more intimate than we are, and it confuses me.
He smacks my naked ass. “Get in. You’re wasting hot water.”
I roll my eyes because he can’t see me, and get in. He climbs in after me.
“Do you not have more than one shower in this mansion?”
Bones laughs lightly. “Of course I do, but you have to earn my trust.”
I turn to him in the shower. “Are you afraid I’m going to kill the big bad mobster?”
He smirks at me. “No, I’m not worried about that, Butterfly. You’re more likely to steal my shit. Pretty little klepto.”
I glare at him as I lean my head under the spray. “I do not have an uncontrollable urge to steal things.”
He turns on the shower head behind him. “Then tell me how this business arrangement with Manny happened.”
I shake my head, refusing to tell him, because I am not doing what I did with Manny. There’s no chance of me opening up to him so he can use my life against me. They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting different results. I’m not risking myself like that again. Lesson fucking learned.
“Athena.”
I glance at him, trying to ignore his Greek God body, water dripping down his skin like he’s a gorgeous statue in a water fountain.
“You said I have to earn your trust. It goes the same for you. I said I’d marry you. Is that not enough?”
He shakes his head. “Not even close. I want everything, but for now, it’s enough.”
I pump some shampoo from the wall dispenser and wash my hair, not responding to his comment because he can want everything, but he’s not getting it. I will remember who this man is. I won’t let my guard down, because I’ve seen with my own eyes how dangerous he is. The sound of Manny’s bones breaking is still echoing in my brain. I’m not sure the sound will ever fade from my memory.
The last thing I expect is for Bones to drop to his knees with a soaped up loofah and wash my legs, but that’s exactly what he does. Does he do the odd sweet thing to fuck with my head?
Leaning his head down, he presses his face between my legs and inhales. When he speaks, his voice comes out gruff, “Fuck, Butterfly. This scent is intoxicating. After I marry you, I intend to eat this pussy until you’re trembling for me.”
Bones glances up and sees my expression and chuckles. “Please tell me I’m not marrying the one woman that doesn’t like oral sex.”
I shake my head. “I don’t know. Manny was my first, and he didn’t do that. He thought it was gross.”
He rises to his feet and cups my face. “I will fucking devour your pussy. He was a boy. Soon you’ll find out what it’s like to be fucked by a man. You may not have wanted this, but it’s your life now. And it doesn’t have to be all bad.”
“Will I be kept in the cage?”
He nods. “Yes, when I can’t be here, unfortunately you will need to wait in the cage until I can trust you.”
This is the place where hope goes to die and with one word, he destroyed every ounce I had. You can destroy someone physically or mentally. Keeping a person in the cage will take their will to live. If there’s a more inhumane treatment, I don’t know what it is.
Hanging my head down, my words come out in a small voice barely above a whisper. “I know attempting to steal from you was wrong, and I’m sorry. You could rape me, beat me, or break my bones. There is nothing you could ever do to me that’s worse than putting me in a cage. Bones, please don’t put me back in there.”
