“You just keep those lying around for overnight guests?” I teased.

Levi barked out a laugh, and Austin rolled his eyes. “No. I have a stockpile of the free ones from the dentist. Although, I’ve never been a fan of anyone staying the night with me.”

Levi took a step toward Austin. “And now that’s changed?”

He nodded and grabbed ahold of Levi’s hip, bringing him closer to his other side. “You two have changed my mind.”

Knocking on the door, I waited a second before Austin called out, “Come in, it’s unlocked.”

He chuckled. “Seeing as I was expecting you or Sexton, I assumed it was safe.”

Lifting on my toes, I kissed him. “Where’s Levi? I thought he’d be helping you with dinner.”

“I forgot to pick up lettuce for our salad, so he went to the store. He should be back in a few minutes.”

“Okay. Would you mind if I take a quick shower before Ford and Coop arrive? Or do you need my help?”

He grabbed what looked like pork loin from the fridge. “Go ahead. I’ve got everything under control out here.”

“Thanks.” I pressed my lips to his once more, then grabbed my bag and headed to his bathroom.

Austin’s shower was at least two times the size of the one at my apartment, and the oversized rain shower head made me never want to leave his bathroom. But since we were having company over, I couldn’t stay as long as I wanted to.

Once I finished and dried off, I slipped into a black and white maxi dress and quickly did my hair and makeup.

“Babe, that shower is a dream,” I said as I walked out of the bedroom, only to see Austin standing in the entryway with Ford and Coop.

“I was just coming to tell you they came early,” Levi, who had apparently come back while I was in the shower, chuckled.

Coop looked between us, his brow furrowed in confusion. “Wait, she called you ‘babe’.” He pointed at Austin before turning to Levi. “But you were going to go talk to her in the shower.”

“Why don’t you guys come in before you start interrogating all of us?” Levi suggested, sounding casual, but the tight smile he was sporting had me assuming he had no problem stepping in if he felt as though Coop or Ford were anything but supportive.

My friend and his husband followed us to the living room and took a seat on one end of the sectional while Levi sat on the other side and pulled me onto his lap. I guess that was one way to answer Coop’s question.

“Can I get you guys something to drink?” Austin asked.

“Coke if you’ve got it,” Ford replied at the same time Coop said, “I’ll take a beer.”

We waited while Austin got their drinks, then passed me and Levi each a beer before he sat next to Levi. If Ford and Coop noticed that Austin didn’t have to ask what we wanted, they didn’t say anything, and it suddenly felt awkward as no one spoke.

Finally, Austin broke the silence. “So, we invited you guys over because we wanted to tell you we’re both dating Kaylee.” He left out the part about him also dating Levi and I wondered if it was because he felt as though it was important for Levi to decide if he wanted to share that part of our relationship.

I glanced at Ford. “You’re my best friend, and I wanted you to know, but we aren’t telling anyone else. At least not yet. We don’t want things to be weird for the team if anyone has an issue with these two dating the same person.”

Coop tilted his head. “I doubt the guys would care?—”

“They might if they find out Austin and I are also dating,” Levi interjected.

Coop’s eyes widened. “Oh …”

“I thought you said nothing happened between them when you guys hooked up?” Ford looked between all of us.

Coop’s gaze whipped over to his husband. “You knew they were together?”

Ford shrugged. “I knew they’d hooked up in Vegas, but Kaylee swore me to secrecy.”

Austin squeezed my knee. “As you can see, a lot is going on, but your friendships are important to all of us. We wanted you guys to be the people we didn’t have to hide from.”

Coop smiled. “You don’t have to hide your relationship from us, and we’ll keep your secret.” He glanced at Levi. “I know how hard things can be to navigate when it’s all so … new .”

I felt Levi relax beneath me. “That means a lot to us. It’s a little nerve-wracking to admit something I only recently figured out myself, but it’s good to know we’ve got your support.”

“Absolutely.” Coop leaned forward and clinked his beer bottle with Levi’s. “Just like when Butcher told me he was bi, I will always have your back.”

“Thank you,” Levi replied.

Ford looked at me and arched a brow playfully. “I gotta know. How long have you guys been dating? If it’s been a while, I think we need to review the best friend rules because this isn’t something you keep from your BFF.”

I chuckled. “No, we just made things official last weekend.”

The timer on Austin’s phone went off. “Now that we’ve cleared that up, who’s ready for dinner?”

The rest of the night was spent chatting about what everyone had been up to over the last few weeks and the guys’ upcoming season. It was starting to sink in that soon Austin and Levi would be spending a lot of time on the road, and we wouldn’t see each other as often as I would like. Under normal circumstances, it would be hard on a relationship, but ours was so new that I couldn’t help but wonder what kind of impact it would have on us.

As we walked Ford and Coop to the door, Ford wrapped his arm around my shoulders. “I’m really happy for you.”

“Thank you.” I beamed.

“I guess you have me to thank for the hot threesomes you’re having all the time.”

I elbowed him in the stomach playfully. “You’re ridiculous.”

“At least this guy has someone to watch all of our road games with now,” Coop said, lacing his fingers with Ford.

“Yeah,” Ford agreed. “Instead of movie night, we’ll have hockey night.”

I smiled. “Sounds a lot better than sitting at home with my cat.”

We finished saying our goodbyes, and then they left. As soon as the door closed behind them, I turned to Levi. “You good?”

He nodded. “I am. I don’t know if it’s because Coop’s gay, but it was actually a lot easier to tell them than I expected it to be.”

“It’s nice having him on our side, and we can probably talk him into covering for us on the road so we get a little alone time.” Austin waggled his eyebrows.

“Speaking of alone time.” Levi wrapped me in a hug. “I’m glad you’ll have Ford to hang out with when we’re gone. I don’t like the idea of leaving you here all by yourself.”

“Actually, there’s something I need to tell you guys.”

“Okay?” Levi tilted his head slightly.

I motioned for them to follow me, leading them to the kitchen island and I sat on one of the barstools. “Maybe I should have said something earlier, but it didn’t seem like such a big deal when we were just having fun.”

“Spit it out, sweetheart,” Levi urged when I didn’t continue.

I chewed on my thumbnail. “You know how Ford and I worked together in London?” They both nodded. “Well …” I swallowed nervously. “We were both going through a difficult time and started hooking up with each other.” Neither of them said anything, and my stomach started twisting in knots. “Please don’t be mad.” I frowned.

“I’m not mad,” Austin rushed out. “Maybe a little surprised.”

Levi grabbed my hand. “Were you guys serious?”

I shook my head. “No, it was purely a friends with benefits thing. We didn’t have any romantic feelings for each other.”

Austin leaned against the counter. “Does Coop know?”

“I think so, and I promise I didn’t intentionally keep it from you.”

Levi pulled my chair closer to him. “It’s not that big of a deal, and you have nothing to apologize for. It’s in the past.”

I looked up into his beautiful green eyes. “So, you don’t have a problem with me and him hanging out together?”

Levi glanced at Austin, and they shared a look before Levi turned back to me. “If we didn’t trust you, we wouldn’t be in a relationship with you. And I don’t think you have to worry about either of us telling you who you can and can’t be friends with.”

“Really?”

Austin reached for my hand. “Really. Now let’s go to bed and get naked.”
