Chapter Nine

M y mind was spinning—cursing the tainted brush of kisses. Every wave of the feel of his fingers working my body washed another explosion of exhilaration. Having Duncan finally lose control was the most satisfying occurrence in the last 24 hours. I don’t know why he was so nervous for my sake—dammit he was so talented and knew what buttons to press to set my body off like a time bomb.

I brushed my hands up and down the length of his sculpted back, loving the way it felt to have him this close to me. I breathed him in as he claimed in my mouth, his tongue pushing through my lips and finding mine, making them trash against each other in a heated dare.

I felt his hand on my thigh, traveling down to grab my arse before he tugged my pants and panties down, my shirt following on queue. I don’t know why I still shy away from underneath his naked eye.

A sense of blissful womanhood brushed my body making me feel in control as he sat there staring at my breasts, his eyes lingering lower until they rested between my legs. It was insane but I could have sworn I felt the brush of his eyes from my chest trailing down.

Our eyes collided as he lifted his gaze and I couldn’t stop a smile from growing. “Are you just going to stare at me?”

His deep chuckle created an overflowing awareness that made me want to pin him to his bed and kiss him until our bodies became one.

“You are bossy in the bedroom,” He fell forward, catching my lips, and settled his body between my legs, grinding his hips making me moan at the feel of his excitement pushing up against my wet and sensitive core.

“Hmm,” My rant came to a breathless pause when I felt him right there between my folds, entering my body. I groaned at the intensified feeling of him stretching me. “Oh, god,” I wrapped my arms around his waist and clung to him with a death grip when he was completely settled inside of me.

He pushed strands of hair out of my face. “Zoey,” My name on his tongue created wildfires of demand.

My body molded upwards into his, and he came down hard, his mouth covering mine as he thrusted back inside of me. He wrapped an arm around my waist, his other hand grabbing my thigh possessively, lifting it higher with each thrust. While his lips never lose a beat.

I did not only see stars. I saw fireworks. “Oh, I am going to…,” The words became a plea and I blinked at the sudden rush of heat skittering down between my legs.

“Come for me, Zoey,” He breathed against my lips, his eyes focusing on my face.

“Again?” I blinked.

He rested his forehead against mine. “As much as you can handle, love,” His lips found the crook of my neck, sucking on my collarbone and it was the final push I needed to shove me over the edge.

Duncan didn’t stop as he continued jerking his hips, pounding into me as he watched me fall apart beneath him. “That’s it, love,” He grunted as his body stilled.

I lifted my eyes to his face watching the always-in-control Duncan Jones lose his composure and all I could think about was wanting to see it more often.

He slowly lowered his body onto me, always surprising me that a man his size could be so gentle and careful. I traced my hands over his shoulders and down his back, loving how our bodies were still connected. He was lying in my arms, our breaths mingling with the racing of our hearts.

“I don’t think I will be able to move for the next hour,” I muttered, stroking my hands down his back.

He kissed my shoulder and pushed me onto his hands. “That will be interesting to explain to our friends who will be arriving shortly,”

My eyes widened. “Shoot! I completely forgot they were coming over,”

He chuckled and rolled away from me, letting me jump up from the bed.

“You are doing pretty well for someone who will barely be able to walk,” He said with a quirked eyebrow, his dark gaze following me across the room.

“Well, I am going to need a strong man to keep me up,” I teased.

He shook his head at me with a smile playing on his lips. “I didn’t pick you to be a tease,” He got to his feet, thinking I was the tease when everything about him was on display and I was blushing at taking him all in as he stalked over to me.

“If you know me, then you’ll know that I never say things I don’t mean,”

I barely had time to react when he got close, throwing an arm around me and picking me up in one slick move. I giggled into his shoulder and let him carry me. I let him take care of me. It was difficult to lower my weapons and defense when all I was used to was taking care of myself.

He left me after the shower to get dressed when he couldn’t stop touching me, calling me a distraction and not wanting our friends to show up with him giving me pleasure.

For a moment I didn’t recognize the girl’s appearance in the mirror. She’s changed. Not only has she gotten older but she is smiling more than she ever had even though her life is silently falling apart. But I think deep down I knew that I would be alright. I had the support of my team, friends, and Duncan.

I threw on a pair of shorts and a shirt—on my way out I paused when I saw a figure perked up on our bed. “Well, isn’t this a fancy bedroom?” Eliza commented.

I smiled. “Duncan invited you,”

“Duh. He knows I will cut off his manhood and grill them in front of him if he dares so much to forget about me,”

I chuckled and tackled her. “Zoey!!” She shrieked with a sound of laughter following when we fell off the bed.

“Did you forget that you are a football player and with your excessive training became a freaken buff bot?”

I giggled, feeling slightly bad. I helped her up from the floor, smiling at her sheepishly. “Sorry, it’s just…”

“You are happy,” She noted.

I nodded. “I was always happy but I am just happier than I’ve ever been,”

She beamed. “I am glad but next time don’t dare go on daring adventures without me,”

“Deal. Just promise me that next time you run away make sure it’s not short notice and you better call me,”

Her smile grew. “Duncan told me that he got you a new phone,”

“Yeah, he’s just worried,” I followed her out of the bedroom.

“Pfft, worried? The man loves you and would do anything to protect you,” She snorted. “He is probably the only one of us who is treating this whole kidnapping thing seriously,”

I nodded. “I know,” I blushed when I kept thinking back at how he worshipped my body with kisses all over my skin. The feel of his lips still lingered all over me even after I took a shower.

“Why are you blushing?”

“Huh?” I caught her staring at me with a knowing look making my blush deepen.

“Should I even ask?”

“Uhm, I don’t think that’s a good idea,” I mumbled, not wanting to share what Duncan and I were up to.

I greeted the guys when we exited the house and found them seated on the porch. Ivy embraced me with a hug. “It’s good to see you. Sorry about last time,”

I laughed nervously. It was a bit awkward knowing that I walked in on her and Xander having a hot make-out session in her room with their hands on places that I don’t want to think about right now.

“Yeah, let’s forget that,”

She nodded and smiled. “Duncan told me about your case,”

It felt unjustified for not sharing many details with her about who I really am and that her brother is trying to help me keep my head in the game. “Yeah, it’s not been fun,” I admitted.

“What are you going to do?”

I raised my shoulders disheartened. “At this stage, I don’t know if I am truly Shane Martin’s daughter. All we know so far is that someone took me from my home when I was four years old,”

I took in all the faces of the guys and they shared the resemblance to how I felt. We couldn’t say for sure if someone was coming after me to fix their mistake but anyone in their right mind would want to cover up their mistake. Especially when that mistake is a legend's daughter who followed in her father’s footsteps.
