KAELIN

Still glowing from my orgasms with Theron, I walked into my bathroom and stepped into the shower with Graham, my arms sliding around his waist.

“Hi, gorgeous,”

he said, turning in my arms.

I watched the water run down his skin and between the valleys of his abs. Even with all their scars, I thought my men were stunning. The way their bodies told a story tripped something primal in me—an urge to mark them as mine the way the world had marked them.

We didn’t speak as I wrapped my arms around Graham’s neck, meeting his smoldering gaze through the steam. He grabbed the backs of my thighs and lifted me into his arms, his cock already hard between us. I ground my hips against him and he growled against my lips as his tongue slipped into my mouth.

I dragged my fingers through his hair, trying to pull him closer and with a quick adjustment of my hips, we joined in an effortless motion. I was already wet and ready for him, his delicious length stretching me even after everything Theron and I had done. I moaned against his lips, gasping in air as the kiss turned heated. I bucked my hips against him, wanting to feel him move. He shoved me against the tile wall, driving deeper. His mouth attacked my neck, making me arch into him at the sensation of his teeth scraping across the sensitive area under my jaw.

“Those sounds you make drive me crazy,”

he panted, dragging my ear between his teeth. “Touch your clit for me, princess.”

My hand skated down his chest between us and settled on my already swollen clit. I knew I wasn’t far away from coming again. A few quick circles and my breath came faster, molten heat pooling inside me as I met Graham’s dark eyes watching me hungrily. His movements slowed, and he tilted my hips to ensure he hit that spot inside me that made my eyes roll back in my head and my lips part.

“Just like that,”

I gasped breathlessly.

The edge roared towards me, sharp and steep and all-consuming like the shadows raging in his eyes before our lips met and I shattered in his arms, my cry swallowed up by his tongue against mine. My release triggered his and with a groan of pleasure and a curse, he buried his face in my neck as he came, his teeth biting into my neck, claiming me in all ways.

As we came down, catching our breath, he carefully dropped my legs, only for them to buckle under me. He chuckled and steadied me, gently moving a strand of wet hair stuck to my cheek.

“Too much for you, baby?”

He asked, a wicked gleam in his eyes.

I scoffed, but it came out more like a contented hum and I knew a stupidly satisfied look was on my face from the smug way Graham was looking at me.

“It’s never enough,”

I breathed.

“I know,”

he answered, sharing the same breath as he brought his face close to mine and softly kissed me.

It didn’t take us long to clean up and after taking a few minutes to dry my hair and throw on another oversized t-shirt; I headed out to the kitchen to see Graham already there pouring drinks for us as Theron finished setting the food out on the counter. We never ate at the table, preferring the bar that was part of the center island instead.

“How are your exhibit pieces coming along?”

Theron asked as he handed me a plate.

“I have one left to finish and then they’ll be ready,”

I answered, accepting a glass of red wine from Graham. I took a sip before setting it down in favor of getting food. I’d recently been attempting to sell some of my paintings and a few months ago a friend of mine secured an entire wing of a gallery showing for me. It was a huge opportunity to sell some of my pieces and get my name out there. It had taken me forever to come up with a theme but eventually I’d settled on one.

“I’ve seen some of them,”

Graham said. “It’s going to be really incredible to see them hanging up and properly lit.”

I nodded, nerves getting the better of me at the thought of having my intimate art shown to strangers. It was one thing to put a painting in an auction or something for charity; it was another when people bought it of their own accord.

We sat down to eat and talked of other things, only to quickly dissolve into laughter as Graham told a work story. It was amazing to me the transformation of these two when it was just the three of us. For a moment in time, the weight of the world seemed to lift from their shoulders. Theron’s eyes weren’t so broody, Graham’s brow not as furrowed and both were quick to laugh, a sound I had come to adore from both of them. It never lasted long enough, those moments where the world fell away and we were just us, but they were the times I cherished more than anything.

I knew their lives were dangerous, dark and violent. That was never something I was going to make them change. My world revolved around the same thing in a way, while I didn’t have any direct line to the violence, I helped feed it—creating tools for men like Theron and Graham to use to achieve their directives. We lived in the grey and I never knew if one day they wouldn’t come home to me, so while I hated the thought and loathed living in a world without them in it, I held these moments close to my heart and buried them deep in my soul so if ever there was a time we weren’t together, I’d still carry them close to me.

We were almost done eating when Theron’s phone went off. Usually he didn’t check it during dinner but I watched his eyes slide to where it sat across the kitchen. The text notification went off again.

Then again.

Finally, as his phone started to ring, he got up and retrieved it. The look that came over his face was absolutely terrifying because of the way he completely shut down his emotions, his eyes going dark and dangerous as he frowned down at whoever was trying to reach him.

He grabbed his leather shoulder holsters and his jacket before coming over and kissing me on the cheek.

“I have to go. Don’t wait up, darlin’,” he said.

I’d never seen him like this except maybe when he came in, guns blazing, to take out Cooper when he was here. It just reinforced my suspicion that something was going on—something big, that didn’t have anything to do with normal NorTac operations. Our earlier conversation hadn’t gotten anywhere and had dissolved into sex as usual and while I was okay with how things were right now, I knew in my heart I was going to need more from him. I didn’t like thinking of myself as one of those women who wanted to ‘fix’ a man, but I had hoped to know more about Theron at this point. He was intimate, giving and protective but there was a line he wouldn’t cross even though I swore I could see the emotions I wanted him to vocalize in his eyes when he looked at me.

Theron grabbed the keys to his Aston Martin and met Graham’s eyes over my head. Something passed between them, so brief I couldn’t tell what it meant, before Theron turned and left.

“What was that about?” I asked.

“I’m not entirely sure, but I don’t think it’s good.”
