CHAPTER 15

JESSE

I n true rockstar fashion, Evert and I snuck out of the party, and made it as far as the bathroom. As soon as the door closed behind us, I couldn’t wait a second longer to touch him. I didn’t care who might see us. Or hear us. I took his lips in a deep, claiming kiss that had me aching for more.

When we finally came up for air, I dropped to my knees.

“Jess,” Evert groaned.

I ran my hands over his leather pants, cupping his impressive bulge. There was only one thing I needed, and he was right here in front of me.

Reaching for Evert’s zipper, my hands shook, overcome with lust and all the emotions he inspired. I thought I’d been in love with Landry once upon a time. But it was losing the band, my music, that hurt far worse than Landry’s rejection. And talking to my former bandmate made everything crystal clear; my old life was just that. And my new one was going to be even bigger and better than anything I could’ve imagined.

“Baby,” I whispered as I unzipped his leather pants.

When I delved my hand inside, I met hot skin.

“Commando? Jesus Christ, Ev.”

“Suck now, pray later.”

I tilted my head back and laughed so loud I hardly recognized myself. I was doing a lot of that lately, and all because of Evert.

“How badly do you want me?” I quipped as I pulled out his cock, hard and heavy in my grip.

Spitting in my hand, I gave him a long, slow stroke. His frustrated growl was the only thing I needed to hear. I leaned forward and gave his cockhead a teasing lick, tasting the salty pre-cum and that sexy piercing. He reached for my head, gripping tightly, so possessive.

“I’ve been hard for you all fucking day, cari?o,” he moaned. “Please.”

His needy demand had me shivering. I swirled my tongue around the head of his dick and then swallowed him all the way down. His taste was salty and musky, perfect. My throat ached, but it was nothing compared to the throbbing in my cock and my balls. Evert wasn’t the only one who’d been dealing with a hard on for hours. I was so excited, I was about to come in my jeans already.

Gripping the base of his cock in one hand, I cupped his heavy balls with the other and when I tugged on them, Evert let out another loud and dirty groan. I sucked harder, and he thrust into my mouth.

“So good, so close,” he whispered. “Fuck, you’ve been edging me for two weeks. I can’t…I can’t last.”

Knowing how quickly I brought Ev to his limit had my own climax racing to the finale. He pumped his hips one more time, and jolted, shouting my name as he came down my throat in a heated rush. And I wasn’t far behind, the pleasure so intense that I came, hands free, in my briefs.

I swallowed as much cum as I could but it was a lot. Some of it spilled out of my mouth and I’m sure I looked like an absolute mess. His spent cock slipped from my lips and Evert slid down the wall, panting, until his ass hit the floor. He tucked himself in and zipped up, while I grabbed the hem of my t-shirt and used it to wipe the cum off my face.

Suddenly, Evert let out a strangled moan.

“What’s wrong?” I asked him.

“Your t-shirt.”

“What about it?”

He gave me a wicked grin. “It needs to come off.”

I straddled his lap and kissed him soundly.

“Any second now, the door’s going to open, and we’ll be on display,” he remarked with one raised eyebrow.

“And your point is?”

He swatted my ass, and I rocked my hips in retaliation.

“No one gets to see you like this,” he replied. “Only me.”

“I told you. I’m yours.”

“I know. I’m just—” Ev ran his hands over my ass, squeezing tightly. “I’m very possessive when it comes to the man I’m crazy about.”

His words sparked an uncontrollable shudder that ran through my entire body. I don’t think I’d ever get used to him saying things like that or looking at me like I was the only thing he wanted.

“Ev,” I whispered as I cupped his face, pushing a lock of his long hair behind his ear.

“Get used to it, cari?o.” He kissed me again. “Te quiero, te amo.”

Hearing those heated words had me shivering all over again.

“I love you, too.”

“Let’s go home,” Evert announced.

I nodded, slipped off his lap and stood up, offering my hand. When Evert got up, he pulled me in tight again, and kissed me soundly.

Until the door opened. Suddenly, Ace stood there, mouth open, staring at us.

“Um, normally rockers are the ones that get caught fucking in the bathroom,” Ace quipped.

“We were just leaving,” I admitted, my face heating. “And you’re forgetting that I used to be one.”

“I guess once a rockstar, always a rockstar,” Ace replied. “I’m not surprised, given the way you two have been mooning over each other. You’re making me miss my boyfriend something fierce.”

“Sorry, not sorry,” Evert explained with a smile.

“Go on, get.” Ace grinned and motioned for us to leave. “I’ll see you guys in Japan.”

“Will Colm be joining us?” I asked.

Ace’s face fell. Shit.

“Probably not until we hit Europe. He’s filming right now.”

I couldn’t imagine what it was like being in a long-distance relationship. Not seeing Ev these past two weeks had pushed me to my limit.

“Give him our best. And enjoy the rest of the party,” Ev said to Ace and patted his shoulder.

Ace nodded. Evert and I quickly washed up and slipped out of the bathroom, hand in hand, and headed for the elevator. But we couldn’t make a clean getaway; Brodie and Holls spotted us.

“Where are you two going?” Holloway asked.

“The more interesting question is, where have you been?” Brodie stepped up to us with his trademark smirk. “Wait, you don’t need to answer. I can smell the cum from here.”

“Brodie!” I exclaimed and leaned my head into Evert’s shoulder, trying to hide.

“I’m the only one allowed to tease Jesse from now on,” Evert responded as he held me tight to his side. “And, if you’ll excuse us, we’re heading home.”

“Come on, guys, you can fuck around later. Stay and party with us,” Holls encouraged.

“Nope,” I replied. “I’m handing you off to Elias for the rest of the night. Be good.”

Brodie and Holls laughed hard at that.

“Or, as good as rockstars can be,” I corrected.

Evert kissed my cheek and I turned to him, taking his lips in a sweet kiss. Until Evert slid his tongue in my mouth and sweet turned dirty.

“I need to find my husband. Right fucking now,” Brodie stated.

“Where the hell’s Dawson?” Holls added. “Later, guys.”

I offered a wave goodbye, but I didn’t stop kissing Evert. Until he smiled against my lips.

“Alone at last,” he whispered.

“Let’s make a run for the elevator before anyone else stops us.”

Evert chuckled. “You took the words right out of my mouth.”

I woke up the next morning wrapped up in Evert’s arms. We’d barely slept last night but it didn’t matter. We wrecked my bed, showered together, talked for hours, and wrecked the bed again. And despite the lack of z’s, I wanted more. Had I ever been this blissfully happy in my life? No. Not even when I was at the height of my rock ’n’ roll fame. And speaking of music, my hands were itching for my guitar. But I was too content to get up out of my bed.

The guitar could wait until later. Much, much later…

Thankfully, I could stay in bed all day with Ev since I didn’t have work today. Well, I had work, but I could do it from home and start packing for the tour (I was leaving it to the last minute like always).

My phone was curiously silent for a change, but Evert’s started buzzing like crazy.

“Who’s trying to reach you so early?” Evert mumbled, kissing my neck.

“That’s your phone, baby, not mine.”

Evert slowly pulled away, and I rolled over to face him. When he held the phone up and tapped on it, his expression darkened.

“Fuck.”

“What is it?”

“It’s Zach’s father,” he bit out. “They’ve confirmed the memorial tomorrow afternoon in New York. Press and everything.”

Evert ran his free hand through his blond hair, and I noticed he was trembling. He put the phone aside and closed his eyes.

“Hey,” I said, kissing his shoulder. “Let’s go.”

His eyes popped open. “What?”

“Let’s go to New York.”

“But the tour?—”

“We’re not leaving for a week. We have time.”

“I can’t ask you?—”

I interrupted his protest with a kiss. “I want to. Please, let me be there for you.”

“Jesse,” Evert whispered. “You really think I should go?”

“What would Zach want?” I asked him.

Evert let out a deep sigh.

“He’d want me to be there,” Evert admitted. “But I don’t want to look at his parents, never mind talk to them.”

“You’re going for Zach. And to make sure the press hears the truth. Not his parents’ version of it.”

Evert nodded.

“He was so proud to be my partner. Proud of his work, of our life together. I don’t want to sully any of that with a fight. And I don’t know if I can hold on to my temper given how shitty they treated him.”

“You’re not going to do that. And I’ve been around you long enough to know that you have infinite patience. I mean, you photograph rockstars for God’s sake and if anyone knows how difficult that is, it’s me.”

“You’ll really come with me?” he asked.

“Yes.” I reassured him. “And it’s going to be fine. Let them see how much you loved him. Celebrate his life and his art the way he deserves.”

Evert rolled over on top of me, cupping my jaw, rubbing his thumbs over my lips.

“You’re incredible, do you know that?” he whispered.

“Stop.” I lowered my gaze, my cheeks heating.

“And adorable when you’re shy.”

“Shy?” I met his gaze head on. “I’m a former rocker, baby. Nothing shy about me.”

Evert kissed me quiet.

“I know this might sound strange, but sometimes I feel like Zach is still speaking to me, guiding me. And I talk to him,” Evert confessed. “I told him about you.”

I smiled at that.

“That’s not strange,” I whispered. “You carry his love with you. It’s like music; it defies time. It lives on inside us.”

“Beautiful, talented, and poetic,” Evert teased me. “Am I a lucky man or what?”

“You? I’m the lucky one.”

“Kiss me,” he demanded.

“Bossy.”

“You knew it from the start.”

“I did,” I smiled up at him. “I certainly did.”
