Chapter 43

Chapter Forty-Three

QWIN

After the shuttle leaves EvO takes the time to explain what is going to happen next.

“ Ok , for all of you that remain, here is what’s next. If all goes well on the surface. ANDI will become your temporary home until the dwellings are finished on the moon. Due to safety reasons the Destroyer will pull out of this sector, as we are trying to keep your colony a secret until the shields have been put in place over the moon.

“ ANDI will provide smaller shuttles that can fly you back and forth, until the work is completed on the surface. Commander DaR , and Kira as well as several others will stay with you until everything is completed. The Destroyer will maintain constant contact and visual until no longer needed. In other words, we are not far if things change abruptly. It has been an honor and a privilege to have you on the Destroyer . May the Lord of Light follow you always.

Things start happening quickly after the shuttle returns back to the ship, and the order is given for everyone to transfer to ANDI . For a moment, I wonder if I’d made the right decision.

James walks up, holding a small bag in his hand. “ Captain , Qwin , don’t be strangers; you will always be welcome in our home. I want to thank you again for all you have done for us.”

“ Just doing for you, what you would have done for me, James . We plan on visiting regularly once you become settled. Especially now that I have been introduced to your wife’s cheesecake.” James smiles then pats EvO on the arm before stepping out of the way. So that several others can stop to thank EvO for all his crew has and is doing for them. But I have to fight the tears when I watch Carla and James walk down the space ramp that is connecting the two ships.

The ship seems suddenly empty without all of them onboard. EvO has been holding my hand this entire time, and I wonder if it was to make sure I didn’t run off with the others. He raises my hand to his lips kissing the back of it, I can see the worry all over his handsome face.

Grasping his cheek with my free one. “ I’m fine, yes a little upset, but I am happy to be standing here with you.” What I don’t say …. is what now? That no more floats through my thoughts than I hear huge footsteps coming back up the ramp. DaR’s immense form fills the entire opening as he reemerges.

“ Sorry , EvO . I almost forgot with everything going on. Qwin , I have a proposition for you, that you are in no way pressured to take if you don’t want.”

“ I am intrigued, DaR . What in the world could I possibly do for you?”

“ Follow me.”

EvO is holding on to me like I am his lifeline as we weave through the halls before taking a lift to a lower level. I look up at EvO , confused, as we stop outside the door I saw him coming out of the other day. DaR and EvO both stand here for a moment looking at the door like it’s going to open itself.

“ Qwin , we need your help, your knowledge, your schooling, and a different point of view. As you know, the Destroyer , as well as all my other ships in the fleet have fuel issues. I would like you to work on solving this problem for us. The position I am offering you is a permanent one here on the Destroyer . You would work alongside EvO , ANDI , and SCOUT for now. However , if additional staff is needed, that will also be budgeted in. We need a Fuel Scientist and I believe you are the right person for this job. What do you say?”

“ Wow , I did not see this coming at all. I am sure your systems are more advanced than anything I have ever worked with before. I’m not sure what I would be bringing to the table.”

“ They may be more complex than what you are used to, but what my ships don’t have is another point of view. It requires a new set of eyes, someone who will ask old and new questions until this issue is resolved.”

I can feel myself getting flushed as so many ideas start floating through my head. “ Commander , I would and will be happy to help in any way possible. Thank you for giving me this opportunity.”

You can thank your mate for bringing your schooling and experience to my attention. I may have had the want, but the need was all EvO’s benefit. I am relieved this all has worked out favorably. EvO . I leave the rest up to you. I’ll be in contact later. SAGE is sending a House marker in the next shipment. I will be back to personally administer it.”

DaR doesn’t say another word, simply turns and walks off. I look up at EvO and before I can say another word. He puts his hand on the pad outside the door and it slides open. Motioning me forward, I walk into my dream. EvO stands behind me as I turn in a circle, looking at the most elaborate lab I have ever been in.

“ This is all yours, Qwin . There are research monitors and multiple holo pads that contain everything we know about fuels and gasses up to date. Test tubes, graduate cylinders, funnels, microscopes, burners, and flasks. Not to mention, a bunch of other things SCOUT said you needed, but I have no idea what they are for. I also had the Destroyer install a viewer with two loungers and a beverage replicator in the adjoining area so that you would have a place to relax when you need a break.”

Walking around, I let my fingers slide across the tables. My eyes amazed at the amount of screens and machines all around me. “ Was this what you were sneaking off to do in the middle of the night?”

“ Yes , please forgive me for the distance I put between us then, Qwin . When I came up with this idea, I was not sure if I could get it done before we docked with ANDI . Father brought most of this with him a few risings ago, but the Maintenance bots could only do so much. Some of this glassware is too fragile for them to handle.

“ There was no way for me to work on this while on duty, and I was scared to ask for help. Because I was scared they would let it slip before Father had a chance to speak to you. The rising you caught me coming out the lab’s door, and you looked at me that way. I almost brought you in then, but I wanted you to know that this was from more than me. It was Father’s idea to make the position for you, and he wanted to be the one to offer it personally.”

“ Why , EvO ?”

“ You needed something, and I needed you.”

“ Oh , my beautiful purple alien. What did I do to deserve you? Everything you’ve risked, all the love you have shown me. All the things you were willing to give up simply for my happiness. Your constant care and attention to every detail when it comes to making me smile. I don’t know who to thank first. Your mother for having you. Your Father for raising you, or your Lord of Light for making sure you got me out of that pod. I love you EvO , and not just because of all of this. For simply being you.”

I am up and in his arms before I can blink, laughing as he twirls me in a circle above him.

“ Put me down crazy ass, before we break something.” EvO looks around for a second before walking over towards one of the few clear spots on a table. Lowering me down on top of it. I instantly spread my legs so that he can stand in between them.

“ Wow , I feel like a big girl. I can almost look you in the eye.” Running my fingers through his silver hair. I am mesmerized by all the little colors I hadn’t noticed before. My hands slowly tracing the shell of his tiny ears right before my lips start tracing the side of his face. Kissing the corner of his mouth, I can’t keep from smiling when his hands run up my bare thighs. Raising my dress up slowly as his hands pull me closer.

“ You know fornicating with the staff is strictly off limits, Captain .”

“ Is that so?”

“ Yeah , I overheard earlier that girls are a distraction.”

“ It’s true. So , if we don’t want to get caught, we better make this quick.”

Before I know what he is up to, he reaches up my skirt, and tears my panties off, and has his talented fingers inside of me. I gasp at the sudden fullness as his thumb rubs against what he calls my pleasure button. Somehow EvO has managed to unhook the top of my dress and is now sucking my nipple through the material of my bra. Leaning back, I close my eyes as his fingers and mouth tease me relentlessly.

As his thumb brushes against my clit, the sensations send a blot of pleasure through me so intense, that I arch towards him, reaching for more. He circles the sensitive bud, knowing the exact amount of pressure it takes to make me moan out.

“ I love the way your body reacts to mine.” He practically growls at me.

The sliding of his fingers inside me has me pressing harder against his hand, my body moves on its own hand seeking what’s just out of reach. “ Baby , I need you.”

“ There is that word … need again.” EvO’s yellow eyes look up at me filled with a mixture of Love and tenderness. I hear the snap on his pants release as he pulls me closer to him. I can feel the heat of his shaft against my inner leg as he flips the bottom of my skirt up so that he can watch us merge together.

He positions himself at my entrance and without any further warning. EvO thrust himself within me. My body is instantly on fire, but he doesn’t give me a moment to catch my breath. Before he starts thrusting in and out of me. The bumps and nodules add a delicious friction that seems to heighten every nerve. Our bodies move together in sync as my nails dig into his massive shoulders. The smell of our desire and combined life essence surrounds us like a drug as I start to tremble. I can feel his shaft getting larger and with a flick of his finger, my body explodes around his. A roar leaves his lips as he clutches me to him so tightly, that I know there will be some slight bruising later.

EvO collapses against me, both of our bodies tangled together, as we try to catch our breath. His arms pull me close, cradling me protectively.

“ I will always be what you need, my Qwin .”

“ You already are my handsome purple alien.” Tracing his beautiful smiling lips with my fingers, I finally realize the words I just spoke were true. He really is all I need.
