Georgia
A week later …
I am still on a high from the crazy ride at Moose’s and it’s something I’m sure will be the talk of the town for a while. It’s more funny than anything and I sure gave Hudson the ride of his life when we got home.
Now we’re here as a couple at Celeste and Callan’s wedding, and it’s better than anything I could have ever hoped for. It’s a surreal feeling being able to be together like this and not have to hide it anymore.
While my family is probably still getting used to the idea, Gray namely, I know everyone is really happy for us. Mom always knew I was going to find the love of my life, and she was right, my time did really come.
“You think we can sneak off for a quickie?” Hudson asks me when we’re over at the cotton farm and The Hundred Acre Woods all posing for photos, just like me and Autumn planned all those months ago.
And just as we both suspected, the backdrop is beautiful, especially with the sun setting in the background.
Seeing my best friend finally say ‘I do’ is the most amazing thing and I’m so happy for them and their little bump. Sunny was the ring bearer and even walked down the aisle with a pink bow tie on with the rings attached. Talk about heart melt.
I also can’t forget the way Hudson tugged my hand and squeezed it tight when they were pronounced husband and wife.
“I think as part of the bridal party, we might be missed,” I muse but I’m not as opposed to it as he might think. I’ve been gagging to get into his suit since I laid eyes on him getting ready this morning.
“You want me to take you over the bathroom sink again, little one?”
I giggle and flutter my eyelashes as we wait for Celeste, Callan, Sunny and bump to get a few shots of their own before the sun goes down. “You wish.”
“Don’t think because I’m still a little slow from the accident that I won’t do it.”
“I believe you! What you should be worried about, is you’re not Stoney Creek’s reigning moose riding champ anymore.” Oh, I haven’t let him forget that for one single second. I won that night fair and square, no one else even came close.
He laughs. “You had an advantage since I was injured and couldn’t defend my title.”
“Still.” I shake my head. “A win is a win, whichever way you look at it. Did you like seeing me ride that beast?”
His eyes grow dark as I look at him. “Not as much as I love seeing you ride my beast.”
“I heard that!” Celeste tuts as we both look up. Neither of us saw her approach.
“I’m sure Callan can’t wait to get that pretty pink dress off you!” I say, looking at my gorgeous friend. She’s a picture in a soft pink lace wedding gown, which is casually elegant and has gorgeous, capped sleeves and a soft neckline. Her blonde hair hangs in loose waves with a beautiful silver clasp holding up one side.
Callan has been so excited about wanting to make Cece his wife before their little one came into the world.
She rubs her hands over her gorgeous rounded bump and laughs. “That’s how I got into this sweet little mess.”
I give my friend a hug. I’ve waited a long time to see her so damned happy. “I’m elated for the both of you,” I gush. “I always knew this scene would play out.”
Celeste smiles radiantly, she really does look like the happiest woman on earth, and as Callan walks over to us with Sunny trotting by his side, I can see he looks like the happiest man on earth, too. It really sparks something within me.“Thanks Georgia, you're the most amazing best friend I could ever wish for. Today has been perfect.”
We hug again. “I love you, Cece.”
“I love you, too.”
I’ve dreamt of my wedding day since I was a little girl and knowing Hudson really is the one sends butterflies dancing in my stomach, thinking this could be us one day.
I know he wants to get married and have kids, I’ve managed to get that much out of him at least.
We’re heading to Slate Mountain tomorrow. Hudson wants to show me his cabin in the mountains since he hasn’t been there for a while, and I want to see where he spent so much time during his recuperation after the rodeo ended.
We plan to head out there at least once a month in the future because we both work so hard, and we know it can’t just be about work all the time. We want to enjoy the little things and have new adventures.
We already have two new arrivals over at Hudson’s farm. Two rescue horses, Lady and Willow, just arrived before the wedding. All courtesy of Brook and his connections. Hudson has spent every spare moment with his dad and the boys fixing up the stables and making them habitable again. I think it’s been good therapy for him, as well as having Bucko around, who fits into the fold perfectly. I think he and Hudson are more like each other than they first realized. I couldn’t imagine not seeing his big, dark bulky frame in the field every day when we pass by. He’s been more than a welcome addition and he’s part of the family now.
The Stoney Creek Times did a huge write up on the front page about it when they got wind of the story, and it even made it onto the national news. Of course, Hudson took it all in his stride and uses it as a lesson to bring more awareness to the realities of what really goes on in bull riding. I’m proud of him. So very proud.

“You know I wanna make you mine,” Hudson mutters into my neck later, when he has had his way with me, without me even having the chance to peel off my gorgeous form fitting peach bridesmaid dress. Now I’m lying on top of his bed with it pulled down from the top, revealing my needy, perky breasts, and pushed up from the bottom gathering around my waist so Hudson could nudge his way in.
I giggle as I look up at him. We’re both spent from the long day, but also radiating brighter than any star out in the galaxy tonight. You’d think it was our wedding we were at today, that’s how amazing I feel. “I think you just did.”
He grunts and makes no move to withdraw from me. I love that about him. I love that he doesn’t want to break the connection. “I meant as my wife.”
I gasp and lift onto my elbows, staring into his eyes to see if he’s serious. “Are you…”
His eyes glisten as he chuckles and reaches down to kiss me. “Proposing while I’m still inside you?”
The wind is well and truly knocked out of my sails and I pull back to check his face again to see if there’s some inkling he’s joking and about to start laughing. “Are you proposing?” I breathe.
“I wasn’t planning on doing it like this, not today,” he says, running a hand through his hair as he reaches over my head and tucks his hand under the pillow next to us.
“HUDSON!” I squeal, trying to get a look at what he’s doing but he’s still pinning me with his hips and I’m fairly sure his dick is hardening again while he’s still inside me.
He lifts slightly, pushing his thighs on the outside of my legs and sits up just in time so I can see the little green box he’s holding. “Georgia-Blue, Precious Princess Bassett?—”
I gasp as my hands fly up to my face. He smiles down at me. “Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”
He pops open the little box and I see a huge sparkling princess cut diamond ring. I feel the tears spill onto my cheeks instantly, coming from nowhere as I nod frantically and let them roll down my face. “YES! Yes, of course I will. OHMYGOD!”
He laughs and pulls the ring out of the box, reaching down to kiss me with his sexy hips nudging into me. Our connection is still not broken, and I know for certain now he’s ready to go again.
This man is impressive on all accounts.
He slides the ring on to my eagerly awaiting finger and I hold it out to look at it.
It’s actually perfect. So, so perfect. And mysteriously fits like a glove.
“We’re engaged?” I squeal, reaching up for him as his lips hungrily find mine and we kiss long and hard.
“We’re engaged, Blue Belle. I love you.”
“I love you, GP. Make love to me, Cowboy .”
“Your wish is my command.”

One year later…
Time flies, or so they say. We never looked back from when we made our relationship known to everyone. And I’ve never been happier since that day. Proposing just added that cherry on top.
Georgia and I will forever jibe each other to the hilt, but nowadays it’s foreplay for us and she just loves a good spanking when the time calls.
We announced our engagement the day after I proposed to her in bed. We spent a dirty weekend at Slate Mountain and have been going to the cabin ever since. Both of us love to explore the great outdoors and to get away from it all.
It brings me comfort having Georgia with me and leaving the madness of work for a few days. It’s been good for us both.
My nightmares are a thing of the past since GB and I got together, it’s like she chases the demons away.
Bucko is doing better than ever and living his best life. He’s totally cool with me now and I think we’re both at peace with our pasts and where we need to be.
Riding our horses is almost a daily thing for us, and we’re looking to expand our brood with another rescue horse and a rescue donkey of our own, courtesy of Brooklyn. Takoda even checks in from time to time to see how Bucko is doing.
Georgia moved in with me about a month after Callan and Celeste’s wedding. My dad was never happier to see me and Georgia together, and treats her like his own flesh and blood. It brings warmth to my heart to see how happy he is about it, and how much she loves my dad in return. I know my mom is smiling down on us, and happy we finally got together.
Gray and I are more than cool now. He knows I’ll always treat her right, and of course Gayle has adored the news since day one, and Robert gave us his blessing straight off the bat. They finally went on their European vacation they’ve been putting off for a while, but the minute Gayle gets back, I know that her and Georgia will be finalizing the wedding plans full throttle. It’s just a few months away and we’ll say I do in front of all our friends and family.
The new Bassett babies have well and truly made their entrance to the family. Celeste gave birth to a daughter, Aurora Clementine, and Hartley gave birth to a son, Jackson Robert. Gray and Hartley are a couple of months in and to say I’ve never seen my best friend so damned elated is putting it lightly. It could melt the coldest of hearts seeing the big grin on Gray’s face every day the second he became a dad.
Hart has been on maternity leave but plans to go back to her practice part-time while Gray stays home to look after their son. It’s something I know he’s always wanted to do and will revel in.
Celeste and Callan have taken to parenting like ducks to water, and Sunny never leaves Aurora’s side. They have a rotor system so that one of them gets to be home with the baby while the other can work.
I’m also hearing rumors that the time may be coming for Gabriel and Skye to get hitched and start trying.
Beau and Autumn seem happy as they are. Kids don’t seem on the cards for them, though they were talking about adopting a furry friend for Bruiser.
On the baby front, I’ve spent the past year trying to convince Georgia that I need to knock her up. Words can’t express how I’d feel with Georgia pregnant with my kid.
And those thoughts have been coming thicker and faster these past few months. Maybe because I’m getting that much closer to forty now, who knows. But I’m ready for it with her. I’m ready for whatever life throws at us, and with her by my side, I know that things can only get better. I can’t imagine a world without her in it. She’s the butter to my bread and the air to my breath.
**
Three months after that…
“Did I see you getting all clucky over holding little Jackson today?” Georgia quizzes as she sits on the top of the fence between Bucko’s area and the horses.
She’s wearing my favorite sexy overalls again and I swear I’ll never get sick of looking at her and having her close to me on the farm. I even built her a porch swing after she told me she’d always wanted one. We both love sitting out there at dusk with Moses snuggled between us. He loves having Georgia around as much as I do.
“Clucky?” I chortle. “Isn’t that the equivalent of a female hen?”
“You looked really comfortable and in your element,” she says with a waggle to her eyebrows.
“I’m just happy for Gray becoming a dad like he’s always wanted.”
“What about you?”
I raise an eyebrow. “What about me?”
“Are you still serious about becoming a dad?”
My intense eye gaze gives her a generous dose of what I’m thinking. There’s no masking how I feel about that scenario.
She laughs quietly and lifts her head back to look up to the clouds. “I’m taking that as a yes.”
“It’s just something I always thought would eventually happen,” I say honestly. “But there’s no pressure; we have time.”
She glances down at me and rolls her eyes. “Now you’re saying that? After harping on about knocking me up every five minutes.”
“Well, we’ve both been kinda distracted with the wedding plans, so it hasn’t been at the forefront of my mind.”
I can’t help but notice her press her lips together as she dips her head and looks at me under her lashes. A pretty pink hue graces her cheeks. Why is she blushing?
“Georgia, is something wrong?”
She shakes her head. “Nothing is wrong, but I have something to tell you.”
My heart kicks up a notch at the way she’s looking at me; almost shyly, but like she’s holding a secret with the twitch of her lips and the glisten in her eyes. I haven’t seen a shy side to Georgia since forever. “Tell me, baby girl.”
“How about I show you?” She swallows as she reaches into the pocket of her overalls, my eyes never leaving her. If her news is what I think it is, my life has just been made.
The time it takes for her hand to slide out of her pocket holding a white plastic stick seems like an eternity, but in reality, it’s just a few seconds.
I stare at it in her hand for a moment before she turns it toward me. I squint to see the tiny writing in blue.
Pregnant.
“What the!” I don’t waste even half a second before I reach for her and pull her down to me. “Are you kidding me?”
“You think I’d kid about this?” She giggles wrapping her arms around my neck as I hold her to my body as close as I can. An even more protective urge washes over me in an instant.
I’m going to have a wife in a couple of weeks, and a child in less than a year.
“Fuck, GB.”
She laughs. “That’s what got us into this.”
I slide her down to land on her feet and tilt her head to look up at me with my finger. I lean down to her tiny frame to press my lips against hers. “You’re really pregnant, babe?”
She reaches on her tippy toes and presses her forehead to mine. “Yes. We did it, and we didn’t even try.”
The corner of my mouth lifts up. “Oh, baby, we tried. We’ve been at it since Florida.”
It’s no word of a lie that I’ll never get sick of this woman. And now she’s going to be round and pregnant with our kid.
“Looks like you did something right, then.”
I can’t wipe the smile off my face. “I can’t believe this.”
“Well, you better believe it because it’s happening.”
“You know what this means, right?”
“Umm, diapers and sleepless nights?”
I purse my lips for a moment while I briefly contemplate that thought. “Yes, but that wasn’t what I was thinking.” I tug at her overalls.
She quickly catches on and laughs, slapping my hand away. “Oh, no you don’t.”
“You know it’s been a fantasy of mine for a while, seeing you pregnant in these.”
We hear a huff behind us, and both jump a little and turn on our heels, startled to see Bucko behind us. He’s close enough I could reach out and touch him. But as I look at the bull that was nicknamed ‘the beast’ during my glory days, I see nothing of the sort anymore.
He’s family now, and in a way, it feels like he’s giving us his nod of approval.
“It seems Bucko agrees,” Georgia giggles.
“I wonder if he minds if I kiss my girl?” I tilt my head towards him and pull my baby in close, my hands sliding easily down the insides of her overalls so I can squeeze her ass.
“I don’t think he minds at all.”
“I love you,” I breathe as my lips find hers, my hand moving around to her stomach. “And this little one.”
“I love you too, Hudson. Let’s never break it.”
“We won’t.” And that’s something I know is true.
She’s my forever. And I am hers.
