CHAPTER 22

? YASMINA ?

I yawned softly as I stretched my body. I had been up for hours studying for econometrics and now the fatigue was settling in.

It was almost 2:00 a.m. and I really needed to get some sleep if I was going to snowboard properly. Practice was going to be a little intense today and I had to be physically prepared for it.

I was already dressed in my grey silk nightwear that consisted of tiny shorts and long-sleeved shirt. The wind howled loudly outside and that was the first promise of an extremely cold morning.

I was in the process of putting my books away when a movement caught my eye. It was a big, black spider. On instinct, I screamed and inched far from it, carrying my bunny Winter in the process.

How long has this hideous creature been in my room?

I desperately wanted to sleep, but I couldn’t when this creature was around and I didn’t have the guts to get rid of it.

I was so caught up in screaming that I didn’t notice another presence larger than life enter my room. Kai looked half-sleepy and half-concerned. Well, his room was opposite mine, after all.

How he entered my room? I would never know.

“What's with all the banshee behaviour around here?” he muttered, and I pointed at the spider with a whimper.

He looked at the crawling spider before smirking. Obviously, Kai wasn’t fazed by a spider. He had touched a whole snake a few weeks ago back in the forest.

“Okay, relax. I'll take it out.” He shook his head, his dark hair falling across his face in a way I shouldn’t have found sexy at all.

I watched as he took a piece of paper and bent before the spider that was clearly minding its own business. It paused a little, but eventually crawled onto the paper.

Kai lifted it and walked towards me, and that’s when I began crying hysterically. I heard his dark chuckle as I covered my face and wondered what he was going to do to me. I knew he was capable of anything, but involving a spider was a hard limit.

I'd rather deal with Stella the snake rather than the spider.

I felt his hands over mine and he slowly removed them from my teary eyes. I sniffled and internally sighed in relief when I realised that he had gotten rid of the spider as well as the paper he used.

And he had picked Winter from where I had dropped her.

“Were you that scared?” He looked thoroughly amused as he wiped a tear away with his thumb.

Without thinking, I hugged him tightly, placing my head against his strong chest. The rhythm of his slow heartbeat calmed me and even though he didn’t hug me back, I still held him tightly.

It was the first time I was hugging him like this, and the feel of his massive, powerful body made me feel safe. He was so still as I did so, I would have thought he was dead were it not for his heartbeat.

I pulled away from him and he looked apathetic as usual. He calmly dusted himself off before looking down at me with his beautiful heterochromatic eyes and handing me my bunny.

“I'm surprised you have a heart.” I smiled a little and something sparked in his silver eye. He was definitely about to say something wild.

“I didn’t think you had a strong fear of something minor, but here we are.” He shrugged while looking around. “That’s where your spider friend has been staying.” He pointed at a thick entanglement of cobweb and insects.

How the hell had I missed that? How the fucking hell did housekeeping miss that? I was definitely going to put in a complaint later.

“Please remove it, I don’t want the babies attacking me.”

“It was male,” he deadpanned, but I ignored his correction. Instead, I handed him a broom that I had lying in my mini storeroom.

Kai took it without protest, something I found suspicious but shrugged off. He effortlessly swiped the web off the roof corner with a simple arm stretch. I couldn’t help but admire his strong bicep that was outlined by veins from as much as I could see through his long-sleeved, elastic t-shirt.

“Those poor insects, they were stuck in the web and were going to be eaten.” I shook my head as Kai shook the web off through the open window.

“It's a survival of the fittest.” Kai said with so much nonchalance, I even questioned if he had any feelings whatsoever.

“You're a spider,” I insulted him while holding Winter tightly, but he didn’t seem to comprehend it that way.

“A spider?”

“Yes. You're scary, hideous, ruthless, everything.” I folded my arms and the silver eye sparked brighter.

“You think I'm hideous?” He was internally hunching over in pure mirth and I could tell by the suppression of his smile.

“Yes, you're hideous, creepy, all the spider qualities.” I tilted my head up in the way I knew he hated. Within seconds, he was standing directly above me, and I couldn’t help but notice that my head was level with his chest.

His hand reached onto my hair clip and he delicately removed it, letting my silky hair cascade past my shoulders. That seemed to fascinate him because his eyes sparkled again while his hand threaded through my scalp briefly. He always did this; he loved it whenever my hair was loose.

“If I'm the spider, then you’re the insect.” He held my chin and tilted my head so that I was looking up at him. I had to ignore how close we were, especially our lips. “I make some web, you get trapped, and then I fucking eat the life out of you.”

“See what I mean? Creepy.” I pushed away from him and sat on my bed. “Speaking of creepy, how did you get into my room?”

“Wow, guess your manners were in that cobweb, kücük tavsan . No thank you, Kai. I love you, Kai. You're my hero, Kai .” I burst out laughing at his statement, and I convulsed further when I noticed how serious he actually looked.

“Do I pick one from those three?” I tilted my head with a smile.

“No, you have to say all of them.” In a swift movement, he was on the bed, too, looming over me and trapping me in place.

If anyone were to walk in, they would think we were doing something really freaky.

“And if I don’t?” I watched as he held my legs together, his eyes roaming the expanse of my bare skin as the silk short rode up. Something about the gold and silver orbs taking me in made me feel so hot.

“I'll tell Bob to come back.” I laughed even harder, and his lack of amusement made the situation even funnier.

“Why do you name animals and insects?” I asked curiously.

“Why not? You have a name, don’t you? It's only fair they get names, too.” He raised his brows and something dawned on me instantly.

“Do you know that you’ve only ever called me by my name once? That time when I drowned?” I gasped and he simply smirked.

“You have never called me by my name, even when we first met. So, in a way, I'm better than you.” I cupped my mouth in surprise, and it was true. I never called him by his name.

“You haven’t earned that privilege yet, so deal with it.” I stuck my tongue out at him as his hands flexed over my knees.

“What should I do to earn that privilege?” He leaned forward until his face was directly above mine. “Do you want me to kiss you? Or do I let you ride my face? Or maybe, you want me to fuck you.”

“None of the above.” I smirked, but in truth, I was already dripping as his voice dropped to a lower drawl.

“You're getting wet, and I can smell you.” He hardly flinched as he said it and I fought a blush.

“Tasting or fucking me doesn’t give you the privilege, but go ahead. I'd never pass on a good time.” I opened my legs and I swear I heard his breath hitch. He evidently looked surprised, but he concealed it in record time.

“I've always known you were a dirty, dirty girl,” he mused, staring down at me with those intense eyes.

“What? Are you scared of getting tainted by me?” I winked, and nothing looked hotter than Kai staring down at me with so much lust and amusement combined.

“No. Perhaps, you should be scared of getting tainted by me. Because I promise, you'll be irredeemable.” He moved even closer that now, his delicious manly fragrance was all I could inhale. I toyed with the chain around his neck, gazing up at him with so much seduction.

“I'm not scared,” I challenged him. And I knew I was in deep fucking shit when the glint in his silver eye intensified. He was either highly excited or rapidly falling back into his unhinged state.

“Open your mouth.” It was a simple command, but my pussy tingled and my skin prickled.

His gaze was undaunting, and he was challenging me to see if I'd back out.

I opened my mouth with no protest whatsoever, and I nearly moaned when he spat in my mouth, the thin, clear saliva dripping onto my tongue and sliding to the back of my throat.

And I didn’t hesitate to swallow, something he must have found sexy because his eyes dilated a fraction. He stuck his long tongue out, tracing my lips and I leaned forward to take it into my mouth. I sucked on his delicate, warm tongue, swallowing his taste then letting it go.

The action had caught him off guard, but Kai never failed to disguise his emotions.

He got up from the bed and bit his lip as his eyes scanned my posture on the bed. That was the hottest sight ever and I clenched involuntarily when his gaze settled on my face. He walked towards the door and opened it, but not before addressing me for the final time.

“We’re only getting started, kücük tavsan . It's going to get a lot worse.”
