CHAPTER 27

2NUMB — DESIRE THE UNKNOWN FT. WAVEY VAYN

? YASMINA ?

Y elena and I woke up to her sister and friends squealing and screaming about something I could hardly comprehend.

We had fallen asleep on the couch while watching a movie last night and well, the rest was history.

“Shut the fuck up, bitches, I'm trying to get some sleep, damn it.” Yelena used the cushion to cover her head.

“We saw a very hot guy come down for breakfast with Kayden. And the best part? He has a freaking gold and silver eye!” Mia squealed in excitement and I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

“He made brief eye contact with me. He looks so fucking scary, especially with the scars. Would definitely let him step on me and I'd apologise,” Yelena’s cousin, Camila, swooned.

Of course, everyone was going to go crazy over Kai; his masculine beauty was incomparable.

“I still want Kayden. Did you see the biceps he’s packing underneath that hoodie? Fuck. Me,” another girl said and I found the conversation absolutely interesting.

“I want them both. But Mr. Gold Eye can take my life any day. He doesn’t look friendly at all.” Mia responded and I sat up, pulling the fleece blanket from my body. Mia was a year younger than us, and so were her cousins.

She looked just like Yelena, but with darker hair like her mother.

“I heard you're co-captains for the snowboarding team. Is he single?” They all circled around me and I gave them an oblivious stare.

“Don’t know, don’t care.” I got up, wearing my fluffy morning shoes to go for breakfast. I knew damn well that no one had gone to the massive table yet because everyone was so scared of Kayden, and now, Kai.

Kayden was easily irritable. He once hit Rowan, one of our friends, with an apple for chewing so loud. Long story short, Rowan had a black eye for the rest of the break. And if Kayden wished, he'd glare and pick on you until you left the table.

He was a…tough guy. Anti-social, cold, rude, heartless, you name it. No wonder he got on so well with Kai.

I walked through the corridor to the dining room, and as expected, it was just Kayden and Kai at the table. Someone had been eating cereal before, probably Harper, but she must have sensed that the dark forces were unbearable and left before Kayden made a deadly move.

“Look what the cat dragged in on this fine morning.” Kayden smirked, but his eyes were cold as usual.

“Fuck you, tiny dick,” I muttered, sitting at the head of the table while Kai was on my left and Kayden on my right.

“Maybe you should ask Penelope, she’ll confirm that this dick will ruin your life—and your pussy.” Kayden was now chuckling and fist-bumped Kai.

“That’s Cyrus’ girlfriend, dumbass, how could you do that to your friend?” I gasped in horror, and he simply shrugged. Now that I was thinking about it, they weren’t talking at all.

Count on Kayden to destroy someone’s life in the blink of an eye, but there was always a motive behind it.

“I was high, she was horny, you can only imagine what can come out of that chaotic combination.” His smile was very devilish and unapologetic, the toothpick rolling between his lips. I couldn’t believe my ears. “He’ll get over it, it's just pussy. Although I can confirm, she’s really good.”

“Why? That’s so…evil,” I whispered, trying to comprehend the situation. I had been wondering why Penelope had refused to come on this trip and now it was making sense.

“I never said I was holy. I told you, I was literally in fucking drug Utopia when she got naked. She wanted me, and well, I gave her a taste. Cyrus got what he deserved.” He shrugged again and this time, I was just plain fascinated.

Cyrus had definitely stepped on Kayden’s toes. And it was probably serious if he fucked his long-term girlfriend as revenge.

“You are so sick in the head.” I gagged and he simply chuckled again.

“Don’t worry, it gets worse. But I'll spare you the details, you're not a doctor.” He waved his large hand while removing the pick, then took a mouthful of cereal in the process.

Kai looked down at me the same way Kayden was, and I felt extremely tiny despite being on the head chair. My head was literally level with their biceps and they had easily taken up all my space. He was probably happy to see me in his oversized hoodie that served as a mini dress.

“You look cute,” Kai commented as I had some green salad. I had to follow my snowboarding diet if I was going to win Championships.

“Spare me the bullshit,” I continued eating and he whistled.

“Looks like you woke up on the wrong side of your pussy. That time of the month?” Kayden asked without a single flinch, and I looked up to find Kai eagerly waiting for a response.

“No guys, I'm not on my goddamn period. I'm just hungry,” I emphasised on the last word and they hummed in realisation.

“That makes so much sense.” Kayden nodded, scrolling through his phone. He was frequently on his phone these days, and I wondered who had captured his attention like this.

I blinked inquisitively when I met Kai’s stare, and he simply handed me his bowl of yogurt, muesli, and fresh berries with drizzled honey. It looked so appetising that I didn’t protest, but simply started eating. My dietician was going to kill me.

He was holding out a clean spoon, but it was a bit too late for that. I was already using the one he left in the bowl.

Kai looked amused, but he didn’t judge. I watched as he took a slice of bread before spreading some butter and adding some sliced avocado, scrambled eggs, and feta. He cut the crust off and pushed the plate towards me and I tried not to think too much of the gesture. He remembered that I didn’t like the crust since we ate at the same table at the academy.

He was still a bad guy. Still a bad guy. Still my nemesis?—

“Thank you,” I mumbled, finishing off the delicious muesli. Why did it suddenly taste way better than usual?

“We’re going to the beach today, but you don’t have to swim. You can play games in the pergola.” Kayden was mostly talking to Kai, and now I was getting really suspicious.

Whenever he swam, he wore long-sleeved swimsuits. And right now, he was wearing a leather jacket, a black t-shirt, cargo pants, and combat boots. His typical style.

Was it weird that I had the urge to feel his strong, Herculean body against mine?

I was probably just deprived.

He must have been having the same thoughts as me because I felt his hand brush over my thigh slowly, causing me to shiver in delight. Just his touch and his seductive stare disarmed me within seconds.

What was happening to me?

“Stop it,” I whispered with a lip bite, and Kayden looked up instantly.

“Guys, come on. No PDA or foreplay at the table. Let’s be decent,” Kayden groaned, pushing his plate away and Kai smirked.

“Funny coming from the same guy who fucked his close friend’s girlfriend.”

“This booty of yours is on fire, babe.” I giggled as Yelena smacked my ass. We were coming from the sea and I pulled my wet hair back to see clearly.

We had nearly drowned each other in that water while trying to jump onto one another.

“Everyone is drooling over your boyfriend.” Yelena nudged me and I snorted.

“He's not my boyfriend. We’re just rivals.” I brushed it off and she hummed in disbelief.

“I see the way he looks at you, it's way more than rivals at this point.” Yelena wiggled a finger.

“Enough about me, how’s your love life?”

“Ha! Non-existent. I’m just here for sex and vibes.” She raised her hands in surrender and I burst out laughing.

“It's so weird hearing about your sex life in precise detail.” I grimaced, but Yelena giggled.

“Well, you're my best friend. The one from last week literally tied me up?—”

“Okay, okay, I get it. One more question, with your current man, is he like, gentle or?—”

“Hmm, depends on my attitude. But I like it when he’s rough, it's hot. Slow sex is for falling in love, and I’m not planning on that any time soon.” Yelena pushed some of her shoulder-length hair out of her face. She was not commitment type of girl, hence why her and Kayden were the biggest players in the group.

“Huh. Well, is it normal that I want to be thoroughly fucked by my nemesis?” She screamed in excitement, bouncing up and down like a kid on too much sugar.

“I knew it, I knew it! Voila , you’re developing feelings for him. I mean, look at him, he's a fine man.” She pointed at him, and anyone could clearly see that he was drop-dead handsome.

His eyes were hypnotising, alluring even. His sharply sculpted face mesmerising to the point where more girls on the beach were hanging around the pergola and squealing every time he moved. His masculine beauty was so raw and flawless that he served as a distraction.

His gargantuan physique exuded vigorous strength and virility, cut after cut of his sinewy muscles shaping him like a Greek god.

God, I needed help.

“I guess, but I don’t have feelings for him. It's just physical attraction,” I justified, but she scoffed.

“We’ll see. If it's not that deep, then I'm sure you don’t mind those girls who are hounding him and flashing their titties.” I looked again to find him looking very annoyed with a dark, threatening expression that his oblivious fans ignored.

“Looks like he needs help,” I murmured, remembering how he stepped in when Ramsey was being a nuisance. I didn’t wait for Yelena’s response, but shook my head as she cheered me on.

I walked to the pergola where Kayden and the other boys were engrossed in a game of cards. Kai must have opted not to play because I knew his intelligence went above and beyond a card game.

“It will be one date only, please say yes.”

“Which girl do you want? You can have more than one, or all of us,” a blonde said enthusiastically. It took everything in me not to punch that fake tan off her face.

“None. I'm taken.” Kai looked so bored and aloof, it made me feel a certain way. He only ever made a few reactions around me.

As if sensing my presence, he looked in my direction and of course, his hungry gaze licked every curve and dip of my face and body. I breezed past the group of desperate girls and straddled Kai in one, effortless movement.

“I missed you, babe,” I whispered while tracing his bottom lip, staring at him with a daze only one could describe as admiration.

He looked very amused, but I could tell he liked my method of chasing the girls away. His large hand settled on my ass and squeezed gently, the cold rings on his fingers searing my skin. “I missed you, too, baby.”

I nuzzled my face in his neck, inhaling his clean, masculine, calming scent and running my tongue over the healing scar I gave him with the switchblade. His face was also in my neck, and he was biting me.

Being this close to him was so risky, especially if any hearts got involved.

A loud hollering pulled us out of our moment and I realised that we had finally caught the boys’ attention, regardless of the tension within the card game. The girls had all left and I giggled, slipping out of Kai’s lap, but he pulled me back.

I sat in his lap and his arm pulled me further into him, his warmth emanating onto me. I did my best to ignore how his massive hand rested on my bare thigh with no shame whatsoever.

Kayden looked very fascinated by the sight of us together, considering the fact that we were rivals. And all the other guys were just surprised that he had a girl considering he had scars, cold, soulless eyes, and a flat personality that shut the whole world out.

“Where do you think you're going? Those girls might come back,” he murmured into my ear, his voice suave, deep, and so relaxed that it made my pussy clench in anticipation.

“Hmm. I might be protecting you, but I didn’t miss you. And I still despise you,” I warned him, hoping everything was true.

“You sound so cute when you're trying to deny your feelings. It's okay to miss your rival,” he mocked and I scoffed. I accidentally caught a guy’s gaze from the group who was playing cards, and he winked at me. I had the urge to punch the lights out of him for gazing at my cleavage.

My skin crawled from the way he shamelessly stared at me, and Kai must have sensed my uncomfortable state because his arms folded over my breasts and the guy looked away.

No one would dare to look Kai in the eye, ever. They wouldn’t dare to ogle me in his presence, either.

“In your wildest imagination, of course.”

“In my wildest imagination, you're not saying things that innocent.” His voice dropped to a darker, seductive tone. “In my wildest imagination, you're begging me to let you come while I take you in the dark mountains. You're begging me to bite your nipples and lick your piercings, too. You say quite a lot in my imagination, kücük tavsan .”

I wanted to deny the fact that I was getting hotter and wetter. “And that’s all it will ever be—an imagination.”

“We’ll have to wait and see.”

“I'd like you to teach me Russian, and Turkish, too.” I bit my lip and he smirked.

“Interesting. I'll think about it.” He shrugged and I pouted in response.

“Why do you have to?—”

“Think about it? Because how else will I say what you shouldn’t comprehend?”

“Pretty please? With a cherry on top?” I gave him my best doe eyes, but he barely reacted to that.

“My response hasn’t changed, baby.” I huffed in defeat then leaned into his chest. I’d find other ways to convince him.

“Don’t you miss home already? I'm sure Kayden persuaded you to come here.”

“I don’t have a home. Never had, never will.” His cold tone was clipped, I pursed my lips slightly. He must have sensed that things were getting tense because he changed the topic. “I must say, this bikini is better than the last one.” His hand moved up and down my thigh.

“Because I’m wearing a sarong that covers the bikini bottom?” I smirked, watching his fingers fiddle with the material.

“Hmm, something like that. I miss the slopes, they give me a good reason to terrorise you,” he admitted and I openly laughed at his remark.

“Too bad we’re not at the slopes, then. I miss the lecture room. I got new fine liners and pens for you,” I teased as he dug his fingers into my skin.

“I don’t want them. I will put you through Hell if you fuck with my things,” Kai threatened, and I swerved to give him a challenging stare. He had no business looking this fine, especially with the three scars running parallel across his naturally contoured cheek.

“Good thing I'm hotter than an inferno, Vazalo.”
