RUMORS CIRCULATE ABOUT A NEW SONG FROM OLI HART AND THE EDGE- WILL WE LIKE THEIR COMBINED SOUND? FANS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THEIR ENERGY TOGETHER IN PERSON SAY YES

June 2nd

T he final chord reverberates through the empty venue, lingering in the air like a whispered promise. I’m panting slightly, the adrenaline from our practice still coursing through my veins.

“Damn,” Jack whistles, setting his guitar down with a clatter that echoes off the walls. “That was… I mean, wow.”

Dax crosses his arms, his hazel eyes scanning us with an intensity that’s always made me shiver. “Not bad,” he grunts, and coming from him, it’s like high praise. “The bridge could use some tightening up, though. It’s not hitting as hard as it could.”

“Agreed,” Chase chimes in, twirling his drumsticks with that easy grace of his. “But , your singing? Killed it. And Aiden? You sound incredible, man.” His smile is a slow burn, and even now, after everything we’ve shared, it sets butterflies loose in my stomach.

“Uh, thanks,” Aiden mumbles.

“Thanks,” I grin back, feeling a blush creep up my cheeks despite the coolness of the room. “Your beat gave it life. We’re… we’re really onto something here.”

“More than something,” Jack says, stepping closer until I can smell his coffee house scent, a mix of espresso and something baked that’s becoming way too familiar. “We’ve got fire. All thanks to you, baby girl.”

“Group hug!” Chase declares suddenly, surprising us. He opens his arms and runs towards Jack, Aiden, and me.

We crash into each other, a tangle of limbs and instruments, laughing as we try not to knock anything over. I’m squeezed between them, the solid warmth of their bodies a comfort I didn’t know I craved.

As we pull away, our eyes meet, and there’s a collective nod.

“We’re gonna blow their minds with this one,” Chase says, his voice tinged with a confidence that’s as infectious as his smile.

“Definitely,” I agree. “I think it will be ready for the Europe leg of the tour.”

Aiden looks nervous but still smiles.

“Let’s do it again,” Jack suggests, already heading back to his guitar. “Until it’s perfect.”

“Until it’s us,” Dax adds, and I realize then that this song isn’t just a melody and lyrics—it’s a piece of our souls, stitched together and set free.

“Until it’s us,” I echo, my heart full to bursting as we dive back into the music.

This song is about our journey together, and I love that we are perfecting it all together .

Trevor is standing at the edge of the stage when we get off.

“You need to get ready,” he snaps.

He’s been getting shorter and shorter with me the longer I’m around The Edge. It felt like he was always on my side, but maybe he doesn’t like the bond we are forming.

“Got it. We will go now. Sorry, Trevor,” I say as nicely as I can, hoping to win him back.

I don’t like it when people are mad at me.

“We were practicing our new song. I think it’s going to be a big hit. Maybe we can perform it on the Europe leg?” Jack says, but his voice comes out tight, like he’s irritated.

Trevor nods. “Maybe. I was able to schedule another night in Miami, but the venue was booked up, so it will be at a music festival.” He turns to look at me, and I don’t see any sympathy when he adds, “Daniel is performing at it as well.”

My shoulders slump.

“Maybe we shouldn’t do it,” Chase tries, but Trevor cuts him off.

“It’s already booked. Now, you all need to go get ready.” He turns and leaves.

I’m standing there with wide eyes and an open mouth. “Did Trevor seem irritated to you?”

“He’s always been like that with us, but it was better with you around,” Aiden tells me.

I frown. “I’ve never seen that side of him. Did I do something wrong? Was it my heat?”

Chase wraps an arm around me. “No. You didn’t do anything. He’s probably having a bad day. Don’t take it on, little rose.”

I try to listen, but it bothers me the whole time I’m getting ready. I finish with ten minutes to spare, and instead of watching The Storm, I go looking for Trevor .

“Hey, Tommy,” I call out, and he looks at me with a smile. “Have you seen Trevor?”

He points further back. “He’s arguing with someone back there.”

I debated whether to interrupt, but I’m going to be thinking about this the whole show. Trevor and I need to talk.

I turn the corner backstage and pull up short when I see Trevor kissing a tall blonde woman. They pull back, and I see it’s May Thornton.

Stumbling backward, I round the wall to be out of view and race back toward my alphas.

What is Trevor doing with May? Are they together?

Is she the reason for his recent change in attitude towards me?

My mind is racing when I get to the stage and see it’s time to go on. Aiden, Jack, Chase, and Dax go on as soon as they see me.

I go under the stage and see a group of security guards I again don’t recognize, but I don’t have time to introduce myself. The stage lifts me up, and I have to start performing.
