Chapter 19

nineteen

LUNA

I can feel the soreness in my body before I even open my eyes to the bright lights in the afternoon sky. My arm is thrown over a sleeping Sebastian, making him the little spoon. Xavier is nowhere to be seen. I lay surrounded by their scent and the heat of Bas’s body, knowing that at any moment it’s going to be time to leave and get back to reality.

As I slowly blink, the luxurious penthouse suite comes into focus. Floor-to-ceiling windows line one wall, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the city skyline. Sheer curtains billow gently in the breeze from a partially open window, allowing slivers of warm afternoon light to dance across the polished hardwood floors.

The king-size bed we’re sprawled on is a sea of crisp white linens and plush pillows, now destroyed from our night together. A sleek chrome and glass chandelier hangs overhead, its crystals catching and refracting the sunlight.

My arm tightens around Sebastian’s middle before I creep my way to the side of the bed. I find my black dress crumpled into a ball on the floor and quickly slide it over my head. Sebastian kept my panties last night. I have never had someone steal my panties before, but they’re his now. Every inch I move feels like a mile. Muscles I didn’t even know I had hurt. I’m completely and smugly satisfied.

Trying to hold on to the happiness for just a minute more, I let myself stare back to the bed to see Sebastian’s naked body fully exposed. There’s a part of me that longs to climb back in bed and wake him, to tell him I don’t really want to leave, and possibly even beg him to fuck me again. If I know anything, it’s to leave before they ask you to leave.

I force my feet to retreat from the bedroom. After locating my purse, I make sure everything is in it. My wallet, phone, and hotel key are exactly where I left them. Luckily, after ordering a rideshare, I realize I’m only ten minutes from my hotel.

According to the time, I have just enough to gather my things and get to the airport. I honestly need another shower, but I want to keep their scent on my skin just a little longer. Slipping on my shoes, I make my way to the door, stopping as I catch sight of the hotel paper and pen on the entry table. It doesn’t feel right leaving without saying goodbye, but if I wake him up, I know I’d beg to stay, and I cannot let that happen.

I write quickly, giving the bedroom a swift look, knowing I have to be fast. After I finish, I open the door quietly, walking a few steps and calling the elevator. The longer I stand here, the more anxious I become. Sebastian could wake up at any moment. Xavier might make himself known. Fight or flight is kicking in. I need to get out of here.

I hear the chime of the first elevator. I impatiently tap my foot on the patterned carpet, waiting for the doors to open. When they finally do, I’m happy to see that it’s empty inside, the mirrored walls reflecting my disheveled appearance.

I press the button for the ground floor and watch as the doors close on the room where I had the most intense night of my life. Where I encountered two of the most attractive men I’ve ever come across. Maybe Valentine’s Day isn’t so bad.
