Yoson: Good looking on the place. I found a bar I can be the bouncer at not too far from here. I saw the pictures of your sisters on the wall, and I just had one question, is they happy with they niggas cause they all bad as fuck?
Yannis: You talked to Yaseer? He know we here yet? I don’t have time for that nigga pulling up on us acting crazy cause y’all hiding shit from him. I’m beating his ass this time he come at me on some dumb shit.
Yoson: Bruh it’s too early in the morning for this. Let her answer my questions first and shit.
“ G ood news, Christmas is coming early this year. It is indeed a baby in there,” Doctor Shields smiled, grabbing Meilani’s attention making her drop her cellphone before she could respond to Yaseer’s brothers.
Meilani’s eyes widened as her heart raced. Her doctor laughed as she nodded while copping a squat on the stool at the end of the leather seated bed Meilani was on. Meilani watched the doctor cross her legs as she waited for her to continue.
“Your urine test came back positive so you can't get the IUD. After you have your healthy baby then we can take that time to look back into contraceptives. Would you like to see how far along you are?”
Meilani stared at her doctor not able to respond as her brain tried to process what was happening. A baby, but how? Yes she was having sex, but she was also on the pill.
“But I take the pill,” she mumbled aloud as her doctor began to pull out a doppler machine and blue gloves.
Her doctor smiled while standing.
“But it isn’t always effective. You’ve had things happening in your life that could have thrown you off your schedule. Did you miss any days? Also, Meilani fear is common. You and that handsome husband of yours will be just fine. Lay back and let's get a good look at this baby that I can’t wait to deliver.”
Hours later Meilani slowly placed the candles onto the table as Aaliyah’s “I Care 4 U” played lowly on the speakers inside of the freshly modeled home that overlooked the famous Falls. Meilani was in love with the waterfront mansion. Yaseer called it there hideaway, a place only they knew about which she loved but with so much uncertainty lingering in the air she wasn’t able to bask in the ambiance of the vibe. The sprawling 20,000 square feet estate sat near the falls in Marcy. Was an open floor plan with an indoor pool and basketball court. Guarded by gates larger than the ones at the home she grew up in and to place the cherry on the top it housed a yoga room that she loved. Meilani had arranged for black and white rose petals to be placed all over the first floor of the home as musk, Jo Malone scented candles decorated the air around her.
“Damn Mei, is it my birthday and a nigga just forgot?” Yaseer chuckled, his deep voice startling Meilani as he entered the open dining area that was near the deck that overlooked the falls.
Meilani closed her eyes as Yaseer held her from the back. Her skin shivered as his lips brushed against the side of her neck adoringly. As his strong hands traveled to her stomach Meilani felt her body grow weak.
“Damn you smelling good too,” Yaseer noted sniffing her neck before gnawing playfully at her chin.
Yaseer engulfed her in his big arms and held onto her tightly. Making sure to press his semi-erect member into her.
“I missed your pretty ass. You my consigliere, Mei. You supposed to be at a niggas side in these meetings and shit.”
Meilani cleared her throat.
“With everything going on Yaseer. I don’t wanna further embarrass you. My family is looking crazy out here in these streets. I don’t want that to fall onto you.”
Yaseer hugged her tightly from the back.
“You are a reflection of me, Meilani. You think I give a fuck about what people talking about in the streets? Your my wife and I’m the Don. I wish a nigga would throw dirt on you or your people name. Also, Mei you a Saintil now. How many times I gotta remind your pretty ass of that. Huh? Meilani The Body ,” he jested humping her playfully. “I want you with me. I gotta keep eyes on you and make sure you good. I already told you I’ll build you a chain of flower shops. Them niggas not stopping shit over here.”
Meilani smiled as her eyes fell onto the table spread.
“I know and I thank you for that,” Meilani said softly. “I cooked for you.”
All of Yaseer’s favorite dishes were covered onto the table. Catfish, fried chicken, mac Yaseer was joining her in his black silk pajama pants. She watched his dick swing freely in the bottoms as his upper body was on display calling her name. Yaseer kissed her lips passionately making sure to grip the back of her head before going to his seat at the other end of the table.
“Thank you for this, Mei. You wanna say the prayer?”
Meilani nodded, needing God so much in that moment. She watched Yaseer bow his head and she cleared her throat.
“Heavenly father we thank you for this meal, we thank you for the life and love we are building together, and we pray that you carry us through it all. Amen.”
“Amen, and I thank you for my wife. I always been blessed, but you showed favor on me when you gave me this woman right here,” Yaseer smirked.
Meilani blushed never tired of his love he showered onto her. Would that stop as well?
“How was your day?” she asked, watching Yaseer grab something from nearly every platter to place onto his plate.
“Cool, handled business. I had one of my men follow my mom’s. She’s been acting off so I wanna make sure she’s good.”
Meilani nearly dropped her glass of water as she looked at Yaseer.
“Off like what?”
Yaseer stuffed his face with chicken as he shrugged. He finished eating before replying.
“Damn, this is good. You really put in work today, and I’ma thank you for it too, baby. She’s just acting off, though. I know my moms, and when she starts avoiding my calls, it always means something’s going on. I wanna know what it is because I’m always concerned about the two most important women in my life.”
Meilani slowly set her glass of lemon water down, looking at her husband. “Maybe she wants to tell you on her own, instead of you finding out by… snooping, Yaseer,” she replied, not wanting him to discover his mom meeting with his brothers at her loft.
Yaseer smirked. “Snooping? That’s for kids. I’m a grown ass man. There’s a lot of people that don’t like me, and I gotta make sure you and my mom are safe. I wouldn’t call that snooping, ma.”
Meilani leaned back in her seat, feeling the cool breeze from the open patio doors brushing against her skin. “So, you’ve had people follow me too?”
Yaseer ate more of his food before replying. “Mei, what’s going on, baby? Do I need to have someone on you at all times? I thought we were talking about what I had going on. Didn’t know this was about something else, baby.”
Meilani smiled, not wanting to let the conversation go left just yet. “You’re right. I’m sorry. I’m just tired.”
Yaseer chuckled. “I’m right? Now I know something’s up with you. I mean, you always cook, but this right here—this is a top-tier meal. This is the type of dinner that says I know we got money, but I spent a few hundred thousand on the card and I wanna make it right. What’s going on? Talk to your husband.”
Meilani fiddled with her fingers until Kem started to play, and Yaseer stood, making his way over to her. She laughed as he pulled her from her seat.
“Come dance with me, Mei,” he smiled, giving her a rare glimpse of his left dimple.
Meilani nodded, letting Yaseer pull her into a warm embrace. They swayed slowly, her head resting on his shoulder as she closed her eyes, letting the song’s lyrics sink in as Yaseer held her close.
“You talk to your mom?” he asked.
Meilani shook her head.
“Your pops? Still on the run?”
Meilani nodded with a deep sigh. “Yeah.”
Yaseer shook his head. “You know I would never leave you, right?”
Meilani nodded, though a part of her wasn’t so sure.
“Cause I love you, Mei. I’m in this for a lifetime. Remember what I said on our wedding day? I said you were mine, Mei. I’ve been waiting for you for a longtime, baby. Damn near put a bullet in Santino when he tried to ask for your hand in marriage. I thought you knew this but I’ma tell you again. I don’t play about you, Meilani. I’ma take care of you, and no matter who lets you down, I got your back. Believe that, baby. I’ma protect you too. Nothing’s ever gonna happen to you. Don’t stress over things we can’t change. Life happens, and we get through it. That’s what we do. Now give me a kiss.”
Meilani looked up at Yaseer, tears streaming down her face. She gasped as he picked her up, carrying her onto the patio. Their lips locked as they moved toward the patio chair, and he sat down, pulling her close. Yaseer rubbed her back gently, his lips trailing over her neck and along her jawline. Meilani moaned softly, feeling him lift her slightly. With a smooth movement, he removed himself from his pants and entered her, aided by her crotchless lingerie. She gasped as his thick dick entered her body invading her tight walls.
“Damn, I been waiting for this all day. I love your ass,” Yaseer admitted working her up and down his member slowly.
Meilani whimpered as she gazed at him, feeling the weight of everything her father’s actions were about to cost her. She could feel it slipping away, and she wanted to be with him one last time—purely, with nothing but love between them—before everything came crashing down.
“I love you too, so much,” she whispered working her hips harder, wanting all of him inside of her. “So much,” she added with more tears trailing down her face. “That’s why I have to tell you something. Something you won’t like, and you might leave me for it,” she admitted.
Yaseer kissed her lips as his hands rested on her plump ass.
“Come on, Mei. You know that’s never happening. I would never leave you, —damn, shit you feel good. Pussy juicing up for me. She been waiting on me too huh? She love me too?” he asked standing.
Meilani’s mouth fell open as he fucked her as they stood. Holding her up as if she weighed nothing. Yaseer placed her onto the lounge chair on her back and raised her legs onto the tops of his shoulders. He pumped so hard into Meilani that she started to release while nodding.
“She do! She loves you so much,” she cried out feeling the release travel over her body.
Her thighs shook as he pumped his dick into her making her pussy fart from the intrusion. Meilani’s sex was soaking up Yaseer in a way that it became foamy for him. He groaned and fucked her harder until his member was releasing deep inside of her.
“Shit,” he groaned leaning down to kiss her lips.
Meilani kissed him back feverishly until he was hard again.
Hours later, as Yaseer slept peacefully on the bed, Meilani watched him, her face stained with tears. Gently, she pushed his arm, trying to rouse him from his sleep.
“Yaseer,” she whispered softly. “Baby, get up.”
Yaseer groaned but kept his eyes closed, lying on his stomach with the black silk sheets covering the lower half of his body. Meilani glanced over at the bedroom fireplace and sighed, fear gnawing at her. She was tired of hiding the truth—it was time to come clean before someone else uncovered her secrets.
“Yaseer!” she said more forcefully, giving his arm a rough shove that finally made his eyes pop open.
“Mei, what the fuck! You can’t fuck and feed me then think we gone have late night talks. I’m tired ma, we can do all of that in the morning.”
Yaseer closed his eyes again and Meilani wiped her tears. She took a deep breath and exhaled before speaking.
“—Dice wasn’t the only person stealing from your stocks. What he said that day was true. When we first got married my dad made me place an app on your laptop that gave him access to your stock portfolio for your businesses. He was able to take- money from you and he did. A month ago, I stopped the funneling of the money, but I had to tell you this. I also have to tell you that your brothers are in town and living in my loft. Your mom brought them here and I wanted to help. They’ve been staying here for a few weeks now. I’m sorry and?—"
“Don’t say shit else,” Yaseer spoke coldly sitting up in the bed. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes before turning on the bedside lamp. “From this point forward, I want you to say yes or no. So, you helped your pops steal from me?” he asked turning to her.
Meilani watched Yaseer pull his pistol from the top drawer of the nightstand as she nodded.
“Yes,” she said shakily.
Yaseer cocked the pistol as his eyes turned damn near black.
“My moms had you hide my brothers, that’s why she’s acting weird?”
Meilani nodded and he stood up. His pistol was in his hand as he started to pace inside of the bedroom.
“How much money, Meilani?”
Meilani watched Yaseer walk with the gun as she swallowed hard. She instantly regretted not bringing her gun upstairs as she eyed him nervously.
“At least five hundred thousand. I cleaned out my savings putting back what I could. I understand if you are upset and want to leave but I want you to know that I’m sorry. I love you so much and in the beginning I didn’t. I didn’t know you and I’m sorry because I should have never done that. It’s just I couldn’t say no to my dad.”
“Fuck that nigga! On my life, I’ma clap his bitch ass the minute he come out of hiding. Matter of fact don’t say shit else to me about that nigga. He’s a dead man walking. We clear on that? Huh!”
Meilani jumped as Yaseer aimed the gun her way. She nodded as she looked at him.
“Yes.”
“I can’t believe this shit, why did you do that? Why the fuck did you do that hoe shit? I would have given you the money to give to that nigga off love. What the fuck!” he based so angry he shot a bullet into the wall behind Meilani.
Meilani dropped down to the bed and cradled her stomach as her body started to shake. She wasn’t afraid to die. More than anything she was afraid to lose the one man she ever loved.
“I’m sorry, Yaseer!” she cried out.
Yaseer climbed onto the bed, and she jumped when she felt the hot end of the gun press into her side. Thankfully it was shielded by her lace, but she still felt the burn of it. Meilani jumped as his warm breath brushed across her face.
“From the start I showed you nothing but love. I will never forgive you for this. Stay the fuck away from me Meilani before I end up doing something that I know I’ll regret in the end. Stay away from my business and stay away from my brothers. Them niggas will be gone by tomorrow and keep my mom’s out of this. This isn’t her business to know and nobody else’s. Tell nobody about what you did. I’m done with you, Mei. I want you to know that I’m not fucking with you no more, ma. It’s a wrap. I’ll have my lawyer draw up some papers.”
Yaseer moved fast to get dressed as Meilani’s tears leaked in quick succession from her eyes.
“I’m pregnant. Yaseer please, don’t do this!”
Meilani never thought she would be the girl to use a baby to keep a man, but she did. And to save her marriage she had no choice.
“I know, I was waiting for you to tell me. We’ll figure out a schedule that works for us. I don’t want shit to do with you. That baby is the only reason you alive, Mei. You better know that shit. I see your parents taught you well. One fucked up ass family and I wish I never married you,” he spoke coldly. “They told me to stay away, and I should have listened.”
Meilani felt her heart break as she watched Yaseer slip on his shoes. She rushed to get out of the bed, but Yaseer’s pistol aimed her way kept her from running up on him.
“Meilani I’m not fucking playing. Stay the fuck away from me before we make the news in this bitch. Thank God and my baby for your life.”
Meilani felt her knees grow weak as she watched Yaseer stare at her with hatred in his eyes. She never wanted him to look at her that way.
“Yaseer please. I swear I am so fucking sorry. Please baby don’t do this. I need you and I can’t have this baby with us like this. That’s too much stress for me, Yaseer. If I have to I’ll?—"
“You’ll what? Cause if you kill my baby then you’ll be dead next. Don’t fucking play with me, Meilani. You in the wrong, don’t make me out to be the bad guy. I was always real with you. Even when I was fucking off I told you. I trusted you,” Yaseer peered up at the ceiling and took deep breaths. When he looked at Meilani his eyes were red tinted. “I’ll never forgive you for this shit. Outside of being the mother of my future kid you dead to me. You are dead to me, Meilani.”
Yaseer stared at her one last time before leaving out of the room.
Frantic at the thought of losing Yaseer, she rushed to call her sisters. Meilani’s hand shook as every one of her calls to her family went unanswered. She looked at the time on her phone and sighed.
“Now these bitches wanna go to bed early. Its only three in the morning,” she grumbled. Meilani thoughts briefly traveled to Jazmine, and she shook her head. Instead of dialing up her mom she called the one person she knew would take her calls.
“You good, Mei?” Nano asked coughing into the phone.
Meilani heard the loud ruckus of rap music playing as she swiped away another tear. Now that Nano was on the phone she wasn’t sure what to say. She cleared her throat as her sad eyes traveled over to the bedroom door that Yaseer had left open.
“Um yeah, I was seeing if you talked to any of my sisters?” she asked, sounding weaker than normal because of her emotional state.
Nano coughed more into the phone before replying.
“Nah, I just got back in the city. I had to shoot some moves with Ossa. Everything okay? You need me to pull up?”
Meilani peered around her bedroom while shaking her head. Having Nano come over to the house would surely be the nail in the coffin for her.
“Nah, that’s okay. I really needed to talk to them.”
Nano lowered the radio in his car as he cleared his throat.
“Mei, pull up on me. I’m headed to my spot. Can you do that?”
Meilani sank onto the floor as her eyes watered over again. Yaseer said he was done with her, but how? She had went against the grain, that she wasn’t denying but divorce? Did he really mean that? Was she really about to have to live a life without the man she loved? Meilani didn’t see that happening still the fear of having him out of her life crippled her senses.
“I can,” she sighed needing comfort. Even if it came in the form of her friend Nano.
“Cool, meet me there now, Mei and keep it together. Whatever is wrong can’t be that bad, ma.”
Meilani sniffled as she nodded.
“Okay.”
Meilani was numb as she tossed on the first clothes she saw, grey terry clothed sweats with white Chanel sneakers. She grabbed her purse and keys before leaving out of the home. Meilani drove quietly to the Northside. The place she’d grown to love and parked in front of Nano’s luxury townhome. She went into his place using the code reserved for her and the family before finding Nano in his kitchen. He was tearing into a sub sandwich as Tupac played from the speakers in his home. She studied Nano in is black Nike tech jogging fit with is cap turned to the back as he munched heartily on his sandwich. From the hallway she could smell the weed coming off his tall frame that was picking up weight.
“Meilani, what you looking all sad and shit for ma?” Nano asked, mouth full of food.
He was a hood nigga that was living a better life, but he was who he was. Less polished than Yaseer, younger and had a recklessness to him that would scare some women away. It showed with the AR that was on his counter and the pistol sticking out the back of his pants but to Meilani he was like family. She was everything but afraid of him.
“I fucked up,” she admitted, voice hoarse from crying while her eyes were swollen from the tears they’d produced.
Nano nodded as he chewed more of his sub.
“I can see that. Must have been bad if that nigga don’t care about you being over here. What’s up? Come closer, Mei.”
Meilani slowly stepped into the kitchen and couldn’t stop herself from rushing to Nano’s side. He held her with one arm until he was able to set his food down. Then his strong arms held her tightly as she closed her eyes. Meilani was tired. Tired of being strong and pretending things didn’t affect her because they did. Like Yaseer leaving her affected her greatly. Her father turning his back on her affected her as well and the mom she thought was dead coming back from the grave affected her too. Meilani wasn’t sure when but somehow she’d become a woman that needed love and attention. She needed reassurance and the thought of the man that freely gave her those things walking out of her life made her weak.
“I let my dad talk me into placing an app on his laptop that took money from his stocks. I tried to right my wrongs. I even put the money back on their, but he’s done with me. He told me to stay away from him before he does something he’ll regret,” she sniffled into his jogger jacket.
Nano’s body went cold as he held her. Tensing up even as more tears fell from her eyes.
“Something like what? The only reason I let his slick ass looks fly is because that’s your husband, but we don’t do threat’s over this way. We go to war bout shit like that. He better ask them Chery niggas, we laced they ass with some lead this morning,” Nano fumed.
Meilani shook her head, realizing Nano wasn’t quite getting what she was trying to say. She tried to pull away, but he held on, gently leading her upstairs to his guest room and over to the spacious California king bed. Nano slipped off her shoes, helping her settle onto the bed. Like a protector, he lay beside her, and Meilani found herself resting her head against his firm chest. The soft sounds of Tupac’s “Do 4 Love” drifted from the speakers downstairs as her eyes began to close.
“Mei, your father’s a messed-up man. He raised all of us wrong in a way, but Yaseer can’t see that right now. Give him time—when he calms down, he’ll come back home. He loves your ass, it’s just that sometimes, when men get mad, we say hurtful things to shield our pain. It’s not right, but that’s how it is.”
Meilani nodded, holding Nano tightly.
“When did you get so mature?” she smiled, her eyes still closed, grateful for the comfort he was giving her.
“Guess that comes with time, too. But I want you to know, you always got a place here with me, Mei. I know things look bad for the fam right now, but we’re still standing. Nothing can break us down, and before you know it, we’ll be back like cooked crack,” he joked, making her smile. “But for real, we’re gonna bounce back. We’re too solid to fall off, you know that, right?”
Meilani lifted her head, eyeing the young Nano who had grown into a man—wiser, stronger, and exactly what she needed in that moment. She leaned up to kiss his cheek before resting her head back on his shoulder.
“Thank you. You don’t know how much I needed this right now. I really appreciate it, Nano.”
Nano closed his eyes, nodding. “If you call, I’m coming. It’s as simple as that,” he told her, drifting into his own peaceful slumber.
Nano: what we eating tonight, Mei? you want sushi again or some expensive shit?
Meilani smiled as she quickly typed a response.
Meilani: expensive shit but to go. I’m still super tired.
Nano: Got you. I’ll be back home round eight with something nice for your stomach, ma.
Meilani felt instant happiness at the thought of eating, making her grin as she replied.
Meilani: Thank you.
“Ewe, have you bathed? Why the hell you look like this and why are we here?” Masami frowned walking up to her.
Meilani put her phone away as she eyed her older sister. Masami looked different but in a good way. Masami had a glow to her that hadn’t gone unnoticed, and she was putting on weight. As Meilani noticed her face was fuller, and her hips were starting to poke out more.
“You look good, I see AR coming back has you walking with a pep in your step. Ossa said to stay away from him right or is you still married?” Meilani teased.
Masami frowned as she moved some of her hair behind her ear.
“Again, why are we here? What’s up?”
Meilani looked away from her sister and spotted Yaseer’s Lambo truck parked outside of the Office. She’d been calling him for days and he hadn’t picked up. Instead, he had Joyner communicating with her like she was a peasant to him instead of his wife and she was pissed. She was trying to be understanding but if Yaseer was fucking on anyone that wasn’t her, it was gone be a fucking problem.
“You strapped or are you too domesticated for that now?” Meilani asked.
Masami opened her Chanel bag and showed Meilani her pistol while frowning.
“I keep it on me. Yaseer in here? I thought everything was good.”
Meilani stepped off the side of her Mercedes before eying the lot and making sure none of Yaseer’s men was in their cars watching. She wanted her sweet husband to be caught off guard by her appearance.
“Well, I’m far from okay. That’s why I’m out here looking like I just finished a 12-hour shift. A bitch is down bad right now, Masami. I told Yaseer about the things Daddy made me do to him like taking his money from his stocks and he left me. He just left and said he was done with me,” she confessed, holding back the rest about her pregnancy.
Meilani wasn’t ready to share all her secrets with the world just yet.
“Damn, I’m so sorry Mei. Dad really did ruin our lives with his bitch ass. I pray that nigga never comes back,” Masami admitted.
Meilani nodded feeling the same way.
“Me too because if he does you know what we gotta do,” she told her.
Masami looked away from Meilani while nodding.
“I know,” she sighed.
“Well, let’s go see what my husband’s been up to. I had Jackie, the bartender, keep the back door cracked for us. We gotta move fast so nobody spots us.”
Wearing loose sweats, her furry Hermes slides, her hair in a messy bun, and carrying a large purse, Meilani headed to the back of the gentleman’s club with her sister. Just as promised, Jackie had left the door slightly ajar, allowing Meilani and Masami to slip inside. They moved through the backroom, following the sound of music until they stepped into the dimly lit club. Every man they passed shot them wide-eyed stares.
Spotting Yaseer in the VIP section, Meilani tried to approach, but a tall, burly guard stepped in her path, frowning.
“Come on, Mrs. Saintil. You can’t be in here,” he said firmly.
Meilani pulled her gun from her bag and cocked it back. Without giving it a second thought she aimed the gun at the bouncer. He nodded as he moved to the side.
“Mei, you gotta relax. The DEA could still be watching us and you pulling out guns,” Masami whispered, traveling close behind her.
“Fuck the DEA. Right now, I don’t give a fuck,” Meilani confessed, on edge as she watched Yaseer eye her with a sexy ass dark skinned beauty on his lap. The woman was naked and grinning as she grind on him.
“Mei, I see you on some bullshit today. You wanna play with me like this? You know I don’t do drama,” Yaseer spoke cooly ashing his blunt.
Meilani advanced on Yaseer and slapped fire out of the dancer with the butt of her gun making the other dancers scatter from the area. Joyner jumped up from his seat as Meilani aimed the gun at the woman who was bleeding from her mouth.
“Nigga you on this bullshit with me so yes I woke up on the same bullshit as you. I’m choosing chaos today, Yaseer because I got time,” she fumed so angry that her hand was shaking.
“Aye, Joyner, take her to the ER and make sure you get her mind right,” Yaseer told his friend.
Joyner looked between Yaseer and Meilani, narrowing his eyes. “Y’all are newlyweds. It’s too early in the marriage for this kind of drama. Come on, Cream, she didn’t mean it, sexy,” he said with a frown. “Mei, you done messed up my midday lap dance with your bullshit. And Masami, you really condoning this?”
Masami nodded, making Meilani smile; no matter what, they had each other’s backs. “If she’s going to jail today, then I’m getting booked too,” she shot back.
Joyner sighed as he helped the dancer to her feet. “Y’all Toussaint women too damn fine to be this crazy,” he grumbled, leading the bleeding dancer away.
Meilani aimed her gun at Yaseer as his rum hued eyes stared at her angrily.
“You do wrong and you still showing your ass. Damn what happened to accountability and you being sorry? I guess after laying up in that cheap ass townhouse with that low level nigga your daddy make take out his trash you think you can up your shit on me. He got you feeling like I’m the enemy now, Mei?” Yaseer frowned sitting up.
Meilani hated how handsome he looked in his suit. His custom black suits always hit different as they rested beautifully against his brown skin. Even as he glared at her she admired his handsome face, the tattoos on it and his full lips that had many times brought her pleasure. She noticed his freshly braided hair and sighed, putting her gun away. Even while angry with the way he was responding to her she could never hate him. Walking over to Yaseer, she dropped down to her knees, clearing her throat as she looked up at him.
“I’m sorry, and I want you to come home. I’ll do this every day if I have to. I messed up, but I can make things right,” she pleaded softly.
Meilani reached out to touch Yaseer, but he slapped her hand away, his glare filled with anger.
“Don’t touch me, Meilani. Not after you been laying up with that lil nigga,” Yaseer snapped. “You gotta know there’s a target on his back now. How would you feel if I had Tallulah in here? Or if I went and laid up with her at the house after finding out about the shit you did? How would that make you feel, Mei?”
Meilani shook her head, her voice soft. “He’s like family to me. You won’t come home, and I need you. I love you, and I’m sorry. I’m not doing anything with Nano.”
Yaseer sucked his teeth, clearly unconvinced.
“Fuck him. This is about you and the things you did. I said I was done, and I mean it. Move around before I have them escort you out of here. Stay the fuck away from me, Meilani. I don’t want you anymore, ma. Go be with that nigga. That’s more your speed anyway,” Yaseer told her sitting back.
Meilani felt her chest cave in at his words.
“But I wanna be with you,” Meilani said softly as her eyes watered.
“Mei, let’s go. If he wanna act like this then let him. Husband or not we not begging no niggas to be with us,” Masami said grabbing Meilani’s shoulder.
Meilani slowly stood as Yaseer smiled ruefully at her.
“Listen to your sister and move the fuck around. We done and the divorce papers will be at Nano’s mailbox real soon.”
Meilani started to cry as she looked down at Yaseer.
“Do you really mean that, though? I can give you time. I’m sorry, and I’m not divorcing you,” she said firmly.
Yaseer hit his blunt a few times, eyeing her.
“I don’t trust you, and you saying sorry don’t mean shit to me. Go home, Meilani,” Yaseer replied waving over more naked dancers.
Meilani’s shoulders fell as she turned and walked away. At the moment she had no energy to fight with any other girls. Yaseer’s words although fueled by anger still hurt and all she wanted to do was lay in the bed and cry.
“I’m leaving,” Meilani mumbled walking away.
Masami looked at her sadly before turning her angry eyes to Yaseer.
“Mad or not you wrong as hell for this, and you know it. Meilani loves you and while she was wrong she doesn’t deserve for you to go hard on her like this. So, fuck you for talking to my sister like that, Yaseer. With that long ass hair thinking you Magic Don Juan. I outa shoot this bitch up,” she fumed before going after Meilani.
“Shoot it up, call Ossa. Shit do what you gotta do. Just know its fuck your sister for that hoe ass shit she did!” Yaseer yelled after her.
Meilani exited the club as it started to rain, and Masami pulled her into an embrace once she was outside with her. They hugged tightly as Meilani broke down in the parking lot. Pride be damned, she cried like she never had before as she replayed all of the hurtful things Yaseer spoke to her.
“I can’t believe this. He really is done with me,” Meilani voiced.
Masami rubbed her back while frowning.
“He’s not but with the way he’s acting you do need to give him some space. Because if he come at you like that again I’ma shoot him my damn self.”
