Several Days Later
“Where are we?” I ask, staring out at the violet-colored evergreens. It’s the first time I’ve really taken in our surroundings since my mates brought me here after the ritual.
I’ve spent most of my time in the nest.
Nest , I repeat to myself, giddy with excitement. I didn’t understand that term at first, but I do now. I just put the finishing touches on it this morning after stealing a pair of Catum’s boxer briefs.
He piled it high with linens.
I added their clothing.
Because my nest needs to smell like my mates.
A perfect midnight hike, I decide. Cedar. Spice. And a hint of smoke.
“The Violet Forest,” Catum tells me from the kitchen. He’s making a hot chocolate because I never tried the one in the Ice Planes, and he wants to rectify that. “This is where I’m from originally. So it’s my favorite of the homes we own.”
I smile. “I like it here, too.”
He gives me an indulgent look. “After everything we’ve done to you here, you should like it, Ailsa.”
My cheeks flame. I can still feel his and Krolic’s knots pulsing inside me. They shared me this morning as I was coming out of my heat, their cocks stretching my sex so much that I’m surprised I can walk.
But one thing I’m quickly learning is that I’m no longer human.
I heal just like they do.
And from what I understand, all three men are very old.
Immortality exists in this world. My being an Omega has basically turned me immortal, too. Or maybe that’s our mating. I’m not sure.
However, I’m thankful for the perks because it means pregnancy should be easier.
That’s my hope, anyway.
I press a palm to my belly, aware that a little life is growing inside me now. I can’t really sense it, but my mates can. They have no idea who the father is, and from what they’ve told me, it doesn’t matter.
“We’re all the father, baby girl,” he said earlier. “What matters is that you’re both safe and protected.” He kissed me on the forehead, then led me to the kitchen.
He’s sitting at the bar now, scanning some sort of tablet.
And frowning.
“What’s wrong?” I ask him as I slide onto the stool beside him.
“I forgot how much fun it is to be king,” he grumbles. “The kingdom wants a coronation.”
“So you can reclaim your throne?” I guess.
But he shakes his head. “No. So they can meet their new queen.” His green eyes glance my way, his silver hair glinting in the sunlight streaming in from outside through the trees and glass. “I don’t suppose you’re up for a ball?”
“A ball?” I echo.
“We’ll find you a dress that actually fits,” Catum says as he sets the hot chocolate on the counter before me. “Shoes, too.”
I snort. “Craze told me this morning that I’m not allowed to wear clothes ever again.” He also said I will forever sleep with his knot inside me, because apparently we did that a few times over the last several days.
“I’ll make an exception if the dress has a corset,” he says as he enters the room, his dark hair dripping with water from his shower. “One I can cut off of you with a blade.” He kisses my bare shoulder, then reaches around to tweak my nipple. “And good job obeying my rules, gorgeous.”
I roll my eyes. “I chose not to wear clothes because I’m hot.”
“That you are,” he drawls. “That you are.”
I ignore him and instead focus on Krolic. “What kind of ball?”
“A Monsterland-themed one,” he replies, his lips curling. “Which means it’ll be extraordinarily strange.”
“Hmm,” I hum. “I may actually enjoy that.”
“You’ll enjoy what we do to you afterward,” Craze interjects. “That I can promise you.” He grabs a ball from the platter on the counter and pops it into his mouth. “French toast bites are my favorite.”
“I know,” Catum says. “But I made them for our mate.”
“I doubt she needs a hundred of them, Pillar.”
“She’s eating for two, de Hatte.”
“And she can choose how many she wants,” I interject, grabbing one for myself before smiling at Catum. “Thank you, Catum.”
“You’re welcome, Ailsa.” He looks at the hot chocolate. “Don’t forget to try it.”
“Why do I get the feeling there’s something sexual about this drink?”
“Because you just spent five days exploring our knots,” Krolic murmurs. “Sex is all any of us are thinking about right now.”
“And balls,” I point out, then giggle as I glance down at his lap. “Two kinds of balls now.” I pop the French toast into my mouth, then frown. “Make that three.”
Catum chuckles. “I think she’s lust drunk.”
“That just means we did our job,” Craze murmurs, grabbing another bite. “So when are we hosting this coronation ball, K?”
He considers the three of us, then glances down at my belly. “Maybe in three weeks?” he suggests.
“Three weeks?” Craze sounds surprised. “I assumed you would want it to be sooner.”
Krolic shakes his head. “We’re on our babymoon.”
“Babymoon?” I echo.
His alluring eyes slowly return to mine. “Omegas need a lot of attention when they’re pregnant, baby girl. Almost as much as when they’re in heat.”
My legs tingle. “Oh.”
“So obviously, we’ll need to tend to your every need.” He reaches out to drag my stool closer to him. “Ensure all of your desires are met.” He leans into my space. “And thank you properly for being ours by worshipping every inch of your beautiful form.”
“I… I think I like that,” I whisper.
“Yeah?” He smiles. “I think we do, too.” His lips brush mine. “Now be a good girl and drink that hot chocolate. I think Catum may have added some special spices to it.”
My brow furrows. “Special spices?”
“Try it and find out,” he tells me.
I rotate in my chair to meet Catum’s brown orbs. “Did you come in my drink?”
He bursts out laughing and shakes his head. “Only you would ask me that, Miss Marvel.”
“That’s not an answer, Master Pillar.”
His dimples flash as he shakes his head. “I’m not Craze.”
I arch a brow. “That’s still not an answer.”
“I didn’t come in your drink, Miss Marvel. If I wanted you to drink my cum, I would fuck your mouth.” He leans over the counter, his gaze holding mine. “Which I now think I’m going to do as soon as you finish eating.”
My nipples instantly harden, all signs of mirth dying between us.
These men do things to me. Good things.
I pick up the hot chocolate and take a sip, all while holding his gaze.
The flavor explodes across my tongue, eliciting a moan from deep within.
“You added cherries,” I whisper.
“I added cherries,” he confirms. “Now finish your glass so I can give you something else to drink.”
I swallow.
This life is nothing like I dreamed it could be. It’s better. So. Much. Better .
Because it’s real.
Wonderful.
And perfectly… unordinary.
