Epilogue

Epilogue

I t’s Christmas. Again.

Actually, it’s Christmas a lot on Irith’s Moons, the alien inhabitants having taken to the holiday like ducks to water. With a few differences.

I open the door to the quarters I share with K’Laus and laugh as I see him standing in wait holding his “mistletoe”. Apparently, real mistletoe can’t handle space travel, so we ended up sticking with K’Laus’ weird penis cactus thing. In the two Earth years since I met K’Laus and we had our first mistletoe mishap, and he’s never wavered in his claim that I’m his mate.

It didn’t take me long to realize he was right. And I’ve never looked back.

And now he’s waylaid me as I’ve entered our quarters, cactus in hand, holding it over my head.

“Merry Christmas, Holly,” he says and drops a kiss to my lips.

I laugh and kiss him back, enjoying the feeling of his lips on mine. He places the cactus gently back on the shelf in the entranceway and lifts me in his arms to carry me through to our bedroom. He lays me down on the bed and undresses me lovingly, kissing each exposed bit of skin as it’s revealed. I’ll never get sick of his touch, and when he enters me with slow strokes, I moan with pleasure. It’s not long until we’ve both reached our peak, and K’Laus pulls away to grab a washcloth from the bathroom. When he’s cleaned us both, he comes back to bed and pulls the covers over us both.

“I love you,” I whisper against his chest as he pulls me into his arms.

“I love you too, my mate,” he replies.

K’Laus is the best Christmas gift I’ve ever received.
