CHAPTER 10
COLE
Winter and I had spent less than twenty-four hours together, and I’d already been pushed outside my comfort zone multiple times. Especially when that state trooper knocked on the window and almost caught us in a very compromising position. Thankfully, Winter had pulled the coat I’d bought her over herself before I’d rolled down the window and assured the officer we weren’t experiencing any car trouble. We still had over five hundred miles to go, and I planned to enjoy every single second.
“Do you want to stop for the night soon?” Winter rubbed her hand over the top of my thigh. “You must be getting tired of driving.”
Except for a short stop for lunch, we’d been on the road for over eight hours. I wasn’t looking forward to our time together coming to an end, but the closer we got to Texas, the more reality crept in.
“You want to find us someplace to stop?” I wrapped my fingers around her hand, preventing it from sliding any farther up my leg. We’d already had enough fun in the cramped confines of the car. The next time I had her was going to be in a bed.
She pulled her hand away to search on her phone. A few minutes passed while she scrolled down the screen. Even in the light reflected from her phone, she was gorgeous. I didn’t know how I was going to be able to walk away from her when we arrived at her parents’ house, but I’d have to find a way.
“I found the perfect place.” Winter clapped her hands together. “You’re going to love it.”
“Just tell me where to go.” She had me wrapped around her little finger so tightly that I’d do anything to bring that soft pink flush to her cheeks.
“Promise you’ll keep an open mind?”
I glanced over, wondering what exactly she had planned. “Is there something I need to know about this hotel?”
“Nope.” She shook her head. “Just promise you’ll see it through.”
“Okay. As long as there’s a bed and a guarantee that you’ll be naked, I promise.” That’s all I wanted… the chance to bury myself in her arms and forget about the rest of the world for another few hours.
“I promise we’ll both be naked. But dinner first.” She reached out and messed with the radio. The station we’d been listening to for the past forty-five minutes had become more static than holiday tunes.
“Not another Christmas song,” I teased .
“Get used to it. Christmas time is here. That’s all we’re listening to until I get home tomorrow.”
“I can pull up a holiday playlist on satellite, you know.” I’d give up on resisting the Christmas carols. Seemed like a package deal with Winter, and I was willing to endure them as long as she was nearby.
“Nope. It’s more fun to find what the local stations are playing.” She kept searching until she pulled up a loud and clear version of “Christmas In Hollis.” Satisfied with herself, she leaned back and pointed to the upcoming sign. “Take the next exit. Then turn left and go over the highway until you get to Candy Cane Lane. The hotel’s a few miles down the road .”
I followed her directions until we pulled into the parking lot of the gaudiest roadside inn I’d ever seen. “You can’t be serious. This is the place you want to stay tonight?”
“It’s got a four-and-a-half star average with over a thousand reviews.” She pushed open her door and climbed out of the SUV.
With no choice but to follow, I put it in park and stared through the windshield at a huge neon sign advertising the Cozy Little Christmas Inn. Chevy Chase’s “Christmas Vacation” had nothing on this place. A huge lit-up Santa stood on the roof of the building with all eight life-size reindeer behind him. Giant candy canes marked the edge of the parking lot and colorful twinkling lights covered every square inch of the building.
“Come on, Cole. They’ve got a full Christmas dinner available until eight in the dining room.” Winter waited for me on the doorstep of the office, her eyes almost as shiny as the silver bells hanging down from the gutters.
From a five-star luxury suite to whatever the hell waited for us on the other side of that door, I was all in. I tucked Winter’s hand into the crook of my elbow and entered the office.
Twenty minutes later, I sat down in a red velvet booth and clasped my hands together on the candy cane striped tablecloth. We’d checked into the Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas suite and barely had time to drop off our bags before the bellhop rushed us to the dining room before they stopped serving dinner.
Winter couldn’t sit still. Her head swiveled around, trying to take in the overabundance of holiday decor covering the room. There were too many Christmas trees to count—each one decorated in its own theme. I could have sworn I even saw an entire tree all decked out in pickles when we walked in.
“Don’t you just love it here?” Her eyes finally settled on me, her excitement contagious. “It’s like Christmas every day.”
“I love watching you enjoy yourself,” I admitted.
“If staying at the Cozy Little Christmas Inn doesn’t kindle your love for the holidays, I’m not sure anything will.” She gave me a big smile, one I couldn’t help but return .
I’d always dreaded the holiday season. Even when Ryan was little, before his mother and I broke up, I never enjoyed the festivities. I’d go along with decorating the tree, hanging Christmas lights, and stacking up presents, but it was never with a heart full of holiday cheer. Seeing the joy in Winter’s eyes as she took in the decorations made me wonder what I’d been missing.
By the time dessert rolled around, I was ready to admit I was actually having a good time. I’d even let Winter put a Santa hat on me and posed for a picture wearing a light-up Rudolph nose. Our server printed out a copy of the photo and we laughed all the way back to our room.
“Are you sorry I made you stop here for the night?” Winter asked as the door closed behind us.
I walked over and wrapped my arms around her. “No. I’ve had a really good time.”
She tucked her head under my chin and snuggled against me. “I’ve had a really good time tonight too.”
My chest tightened as we stood there. The soft sound of “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!” floated through the speaker next to the bed. The moment was bittersweet. I’d finally found a reason to love the holidays, but I was going to be forced to give her up way too soon.
Winter must have been having thoughts along the same lines. She pulled back and rose to her tiptoes. Her eyes shone with emotion as she pressed her lips to my cheek. “We still have tonight and another day of driving tomorrow.”
That was my girl—always looking on the bright side. “ I’ve been eyeing that whirlpool tub in the bathroom. Want to give it a go?”
The damn thing was shaped like Santa’s sleigh and done up with boughs of evergreen and miles of red and green ribbon. With enough room for both of us and plenty to spare, I’d been looking forward to settling into the bubbles for a long winter’s night with my girl on my lap.
“Last one in has to rub the other one’s back.” Winter skipped into the bathroom while stripping, leaving her clothes trailing behind.
I didn’t care which one of us got there first. As long as I’d get to spend the next hour with her naked body gliding all over mine, I’d consider myself the winner.
She had the water running and a few cinnamon-scented candles lit around the tub when I joined her. I slid into water, groaning with pleasure as the heat eased the tightness from my shoulders. Winter floated over to me. She’d tied her hair up off her shoulders and was up to her tits in bubbles.
“Get over here, Baby Girl.” I tugged her onto my lap, eager to lose myself inside her.
“Ooh.” Her fingers brushed the length of my cock. “Merry Christmas to me, huh?”
I chuckled. “If that’s what you want, it’s all yours.”
She straddled my hips. Her tits rose above the water, and I bent to suck one of her nipples into my mouth. She arched into me as she slid down onto my cock.
“That’s exactly what I want, Cole. Give it to me.” Her nails dug into my shoulders as she lifted herself up and down. With nothing between us, the sensations were so fucking intense. The walls of her pussy gripped my cock. I had to concentrate to keep myself from coming. The names of Santa’s reindeer floated through my head. Rudolph… Dancer… Vixus… no, that wasn’t right. Winter slammed down onto me, sending water splashing over the edge of the tub.
“Vixen. Dammit,” I blurted out.
“Are you calling me names?” Winter captured my earlobe between her teeth and nibbled. Shivers exploded down my spine.
“No, but right now, the name fits. You’re teasing me, aren’t you, Baby Girl?” Fuck the reindeer games. If she wanted it fast and sloppy, I was ready for her.
“I’m not teasing. I just want you so bad. Make me feel good, Cole?” She looked up at me, her lips swollen from our kisses.
I cupped a hand under her ass and lifted her up out of the water. With her back pressed against the tile wall, I drilled into her, pumping my hips to a frantic internal rhythm that would drive us both over the edge.
She clung to me, her skin wet, her hips meeting mine thrust for thrust. With the strains of “Here Comes Santa Claus” floating in from the bedroom, she gave herself over to her release. My balls tightened and pressure built until I couldn’t hold back. With a final thrust, I emptied into her. Merry fucking Christmas to us both.
