NOVA
I regret tricking her into this trip the second I hung up on her, but I needed to see her beforehand.
What’s a little white lie?
So the wedding I’m attending isn’t family. And my presence isn’t vital but more required since I’m the best man. The woman I saw the night I first met Simone is marrying tonight, and since I’m the reason the happy couple met, I’ve been dubbed their good luck charm.
“Gladys, you look lovely.” I kiss my ex-clients cheek when she steps out of her limo in front of the chapel.
I’ve been waiting for Simone to arrive, but traffic on the strip is a nightmare tonight.
“Maddox, I can not thank you enough for all that you’ve done for me.” I smile warmly at the older woman with her stunning silver hair that compliments her white dress.
A glance around yet again and sigh in relief when a taxi pulls up, and Simone gracefully climbs out of the back seat.
“Excuse me, Gladys, my date just arrived.” She grins and pats my arm.
“Sorry!” she says as she rushes over to me.
“Not your fault, Dove. You look spectacular.” I let my eyes roam over her plum-colored dress.
It hugs all her curves and leaves nothing to the imagination. I want to peel it off her body slowly with my teeth. A throat clearing behind me brings me back from my little fantasy, and I turn to see Gladys waiting for introductions.
I really regret Simone being here now. I can see the mischief in my friend’s eyes and know I’m fucking doomed.
“Gladys, this is Simone,” I look at my date, who’s flushed, but from what, I have no idea.
Is it me, or from rushing around?
“Congratulations,” Simone manages to say while I eye fuck her.
Jesus, was she always this gorgeous?
“Are you related? Mr. Deacon didn’t say when he coerced me into tonight’s festivities.” Holy shit.
I forgot how blunt she was, too.
“Coerced? My, my, Mads. You do have a way with women, don’t you.” Gladys, seeing me blush, which I’m certain is a first for us, pats my shoulder and leaves me to rein in my wayward guest.
“Dove, do you know how hard it is to make me blush in front of someone who’s seen me naked?” I narrow my eyes at her, and she meets my stare with an innocent shrug.
“No clue, but since I’ll be in an uncomfortable setting this evening, I decided you’ll be joining me.” Her evil smile makes my cock twitch.
“Is that a challenge?” I step closer to her and gently straighten a strap on her shoulder.
I let my fingers linger longer than necessary on her warm skin.
“No?” I tsk my tongue at her.
“Are you asking or telling? Need I remind you of the last wager I won?” The one where I made her cum on my fingers in a relatively empty bar.
Her eyes darken and turn dreamy.
She’s reliving the moment just like I am, and my fingers trail down her dress to the swell of her breast. That seems to snap her out of the memory, and those biteable tits heave with a heavy breath.
“We are in public,” she hisses, looking around.
I smirked and stepped back but took her hand quickly before turning us to the entrance of the chapel.
“Never stopped me before. I do my best work with an audience.” She stumbles at my words, but I don’t let her fall.
“Careful, Dove,” I chuckle at her newly flushed face and chest.
“You’ll pay for that.” She hisses at me while we walk through the Chapel.
“I sincerely hope so. With my tongue this time. Now sit here and be a good girl, or I’ll add a spanking to that tonguing.” I leave her shell-shocked at my words in the first pew.
I find Gladys and her soon-to-be husband, Jack, signing paperwork for the wedding to proceed.
“Maddox, you dirty dog. You sat that poor girl in soaked panties in the first row of a church,” Jack teases me, and I shrug with a wink.
“I’m just out here doing God’s work.” We all laugh as I witness the rest of the paperwork and then take Gladys’s arm in mine while Jack takes his spot in the Chapel with the officiant.
“Thank you. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have ever been open to love again.” Gladys kisses me on the cheek as the music starts playing.
“It was my honor.” I walk her down the aisle to Jack and offer her his hand.
“This seems familiar,” He whispers just for the three of us to hear, and I fail to keep the snort of laughter down.
I take my place next to Jack and glance at where I left Simone seated.
She’s inching away from some man I’ve never seen before. Her angry eyes are throwing daggers his way, but the douche keeps trying to crowd her. I take a step in their direction, and his head snaps in my direction.
Her eyes go from me to the couple exchanging vows, then back to mine. She shakes her head ‘No’ at me, and I suppress a growl. She’s clearly uncomfortable. I let my eyes trail back to the man who hasn’t missed our silent interaction.
One look at my face, and the color drains from his. My eyes are saying one thing to him.
Touch her, and I’ll end you where you sit.
He slides to the other end of the pew, and Simone visibly relaxes. She crosses her legs and angles away from the man, placing her purse in her lap. It’s a clear ‘Fuck off’ move. I wink at her and return my focus to the happy couple.
“I now pronounce you Man and Wife. You may kiss your bride.” I clap as Jack makes the embrace just shy of embarrassing by dipping Gladys so low he has to lower one of his hands to her ass to keep her from falling to the floor.
The crowd laughs and whistles at them, leaving me the opportunity to offer Simone my arm. She stands and clutches it like the lifeline it is.
“Did he touch you?” I whisper in her ear.
A curt nod is all I get.
I kiss her temple and glance over my shoulder at the asshole who is going to be missing a hand tonight when I’m through with him.
“All good over here?” Jack asks as Gladys hugs a friend.
“NO,” I growl at the guy standing and looking at Jack for help.
“Who is that?” I move Simone between us to shield her from his view.
“Fuck, that’s my brother John.” I close my eyes at the tense tone of Jack’s words.
“Out of respect to you, I won’t touch him, but I suggest you advise him to keep his fucking hands to himself.” Jack’s eyes widen, but he nods.
I’ve known him since college and heard stories of his brother, but I have never met him. The man has no boundaries, thinking he’s God’s gift to women. He’s been in trouble a few times, including when his parents almost went bankrupt to keep him out of jail, but that was in his late teens.
Clearly, age has not guaranteed his wisdom.
“He gives me the creeps,” Simone shivers in my arms, and I regret making that promise to Jack.
“I’ll be the only man touching you tonight, Dove. You have my word.”
