Chapter 22 - Mila

Standing before the mirror as I brushed my hair, I still felt charged from Aleksandr’s affirmation last night. I had proven myself, and it felt good to be appreciated. Brushing out my hair, I had an idea. Grinning at my reflection, I decided that it was a good one.

Jumping into a comfortable, light pink summer dress with buttons at the front, I nodded at myself in the mirror. “Yes,” I pronounced to the room. “It was time he saw what I thrived on.”

I headed down to look for Aleksandr. I wanted to take him out and show him the things I like to do. I would take him to my regular hangouts and see what he thought about them. He wasn’t inside. So, I went out back to the little garden table where he occasionally enjoyed a cup in the mornings.

Walking out the large doors leading to the backyard, I saw him sitting in the sun, reading his paper. “You already studied the paper yesterday and the day before and the entire year,” I said jokingly as I got close.

Aleksandr lowered his paper and laughed. Folding it and placing it on the small iron table, he replied in a light tone. “It comes out every day, you know.”

Nodding, I sat down opposite him. “Isn’t it boring? I mean, most of the stuff in there stays the same. There couldn’t be that many interesting things happening every day.”

“I could show you what there is…” he started replying.

“No,” I added, interrupting him. “Let’s go out today. I want to take you out. Will that be okay?” I asked.

Aleksandr sat staring at me for a few seconds before replying. “Sure thing. You can take me out if you wish to. Where would you like to go?”

Rising, I felt like a child who had just gotten their wish granted. “It’s a surprise,” I said, heading back in. Turning at the door, I called out. “Come on, slow poke.”

Aleksandr laughed as he moved quicker. I felt light and filled with energy. We headed through to the front door and out to the car. At the front of the car, I stopped turning to him as he unlocked the doors. Holding out my hand palm up, I smiled.

“And now, what do I want?” he asked, opening my side door.

“I’m taking you out, so, I drive,” I replied, standing fast.

Aleksandr shook his head and grinned. Stepping closer, he dropped the keys into my hand. “I can still drive us…,” he started saying when I interrupted him for a second time.

“Nope, get in. I’m driving today.” I hopped around to the driver's side and got in. I waited for him to get in and fasten his seatbelt before I started the engine.

“Are you going to make a habit of this?” he enquired, raising his eyebrows at me.

Laughing, I shook my head. “No, but today I want to show you my world,” I replied, pulling out.

Our first stop was at the mall, my favorite place. As I found a parking close to one of the entrances, I glanced at Aleksandr. “I hope you’re wearing comfortable shoes,” I said. “We’re going to be doing a lot of walking.”

Aleksandr grinned and got out, coming around to my side. Holding the door open, he held out his hand. I took his hand and got out. “I must say, it is nice not having to open my own car door as the driver,” I said teasingly.

“Well, I was raised right,” he replied as we entered the mall.

Taking his hand, I dragged him with me as I moved to this cute little shop in the corner. “First, we have to get a drink here,” I said, entering the shop. “We are going to need loads of energy.”

As we stood in the line to order, I noticed Aleksandr studying the menu on the wall. “Have you been here before?” I asked.

“No, I haven’t,” he replied, smiling.

“You have to try the Fudgecle with me,” I said, holding his arm. “It’s a vanilla milkshake pumped full of fudge. On top, it has loads of whipped cream, and at the bottom, jelly-like balls.”

Aleksandr pulled his nose up, shaking his head lightly as he spoke. “It sounds… different.”

“Oh, it’s to die for,” I said as we got to the counter. “Two Fudgecles,” I told the young woman on the other side of the counter. She shook her head and rang it up. After paying for them, we moved to the collections counter.

Armed with our drinks, we could move on. It was time to shop. I pulled Aleksandr to the perfume shop. Aleksandr joined me in smelling about five bottles of perfume. “I’m going to be high if we continue this much longer,” he said, handing me a pink lacy bottle. “I like this one.”

“No,” I protested. “I am buying you one today.” I found one I liked that smelled divine on him. It was perfect, so I took it. It had a rustic musk smell, reminding me of Aleksandr’s natural scent. The scent combined with his made me want to smell him all day long. Aleksandr bought the other one, but he also insisted on getting me one.

Moving further into the mall, we passed a jeweler. Aleksandr took my hand and pulled me inside. “Pick something,” he said. “Anything.”

I picked earrings and a bracelet set that had small pink stones in it. I also looked at the men’s watches. Aleksandr pulled me in a gentle hug as he whispered. “I have a watch, dear.”

“I know,” I replied. “But if it breaks, you’ll have a spare.”

Tapping on the glass, I spoke to the salesperson. “We will take this one, please.” Aleksandr was behind me as he spoke again. “Please leave it, I don’t need it.”

I hadn’t realized how close he was until I turned. Our noses touched as we stared into each other’s eyes. I felt my heart picking up speed and my breath coming in quicker sessions. I felt the kiss coming. As I closed my eyes in anticipation, the man behind the counter spoke. “You can pay at the front,” he said.

Jumping around, I took the packet he was holding out. I made my way to the front quickly. Aleksandr was on my heels. Once I had paid and we stepped out, I turned to him. “You agreed that I could take you out. Please do not interrupt me if I choose to get you something.”

Aleksandr nodded but didn’t reply. Taking his hand, we walked in silence further. As we passed a small ‘quick snack’ shop, I stopped. Glancing at him, I spoke softly. “Do you want to get something to eat?”

He nodded and entered the shop. There were only three tables inside with two chairs at each. We sat in the corner. Aleksandr had coffee and a muffin. I had coffee and a croissant. Once we were done, we continued our shopping.

The next stop was a clothing store. As I pulled him inside, I noticed his mood changing. “This is going to be fun, I promise,” I whispered in his ear as I led him to the changing rooms where the seating area was.

“You wait here,” I said as I pulled him to sit on one of the loungers. “I’m going to pick a couple of outfits and model for you.”

As I walked away, leaving him there, I saw a smile crossing his lips. I practically ran through the rows, picking about ten items of clothing I felt he would appreciate. As I came back with my hands filled to the brim, I noticed Aleksandr was on his phone.

One of the sales ladies came over and assisted me to hang the clothes in a changing room. “Is everything okay?” I asked, walking to Aleksandr.

He looked up and placed his phone back in his pocket. “Everything is great, dear. No need to worry,” he answered, grinning. “Are you going to try all of those?”

Glancing at the changing room, I nodded as I went inside. First up were two pantsuits. One was a dark green, and the other an off-white. I walked in a circle stopping at one side and then the other so Aleksandr could assess the outfit.

“I like both, but the off-white is my pick out of the two.” He said as I headed back to change.

The next two were summer dresses, he loved both. As I came out in the first evening gown, I heard Aleksandr gasp.

“Now, that is a dress we must buy,” he huffed as he stood and pulled me into his arms. “Do you like opera?” he enquired.

“I’m not sure,” I replied, turning out of his arms and heading back to change.

Coming out in the second one came with the same result. Aleksandr pulled me close and kissed my neck as he whispered. “Can I come to help you change?”

Laughing, I shook my head. One of the staff brought us two glasses of champagne. Taking a sip, I placed the glass down and went to try on the last four outfits. These were more everyday wear. I selected two pairs of jeans, with tight-fitting tops. Then there was a short pantsuit and a jumpsuit.

I danced, struck poses, and walked up and down with each item. Aleksandr and I laughed as I tried a different pose with each of them. I was relaxed and having fun. Once done, we decided to buy them all. Aleksandr paid for the clothing, and we moved on.

Walking past a couple of shops, I pulled his arm, turning direction. He studied the shops ahead of us and then stopped dead in his tracks. I felt his hand closing around my arm as he pulled me to a stop. “Yes,” I asked, looking at him.

His eyes were slightly larger as he looked up at the beauty salon. “I’m not going there,” he mumbled as he looked into my eyes.

“I promise it’ll be fun. Come on, please,” I begged.

“What am I supposed to do in there?” Aleksandr questioned, squeezing my hands.

“We’ll get a couples massage; you will enjoy it,” I said, pulling him with me as I walked towards the salon. As we got closer, he gave up and walked with me. I could tell his mood was shifting again.

Entering the salon, the owner came over and hugged me. “Mila, it’s been a long time,” she said, eyeing Aleksandr.

“It has,” I replied. “This is Aleksandr, my husband. We just want a couples massage; do you still offer it?” I questioned, smiling at her.

“Yes, yes, dear,” she huffed. “Come on back,” she added, moving quickly from the front to the back. There were two rooms in the back fitted for massages. She opened the door to the left that held two small beds.

Entering the room, Aleksandr looked around intently. Once the door closed, I stepped closer. Aleksandr looked at me questioningly. “Let me help you,” I said, unbuttoning his shirt.

“What,” he replied, holding my hand.

“It’s a massage; you have to take your shirt off,” I added, pulling out of his grip. Aleksandr lowered his hands and allowed me to remove his shirt. “Lay down on your stomach,” I added.

He looked down at me as I removed my shirt and lay on the bed beside him. The door opened, and two young women entered. “The fun is about to start,” I whispered to Aleksandr as I reached out and took his hand.

Once the massage was done, the women left. Sitting up, I pulled on my shirt as I spoke. “And how was that?”

Aleksandr smiled at me. “It was nice, I have to admit.”

“See, not all my ideas are bad,” I added as we paid and left. The day had moved quickly, and I realized we only had time for one more stop. I led him down another section of the mall.

“Where are we going now?” Aleksandr questioned as the hallway darkened. Flipping my hair, I glanced at him over my shoulder, biting my lower lip. He smiled faintly at me. “What does that mean?”

“I can’t tell you and spoil the surprise,” I replied seductively. Nearing the last shops down this way, none of them had names or images displayed in the windows. The shop windows were either all black, all red, or showed a variety of colors. But none of them allowed a peek inside.

The one I took him to was painted a light blue with elegant white flowers and golden ribbons running across the windows. As we entered, Aleksandr's eyes widened, he breathed in hard, and his cheeks started turning crimson. “What is this place?” he breathed out.

Pulling him along, I led him to a private booth. I turned to him, took his arms, and pulled him down onto the long seat inside. Before letting go, I leaned closer, whispering in his ear. “Don’t be so nervous, baby. This is the fun part, relax and enjoy.”

Leaving him there, I headed into the store and selected a handful of lingerie. To the side of the booth was a changing room. As I entered it, I winked at Aleksandr. I could see he was nervous and found it hard to believe he had never been in such a shop.

After changing into the first outfit, I walked out into the booth. Aleksandr’s eyes were focused on my body. He looked up and down, breathing in and out hard. The first item was black. It was made of a soft, silky material. There were triangles covering my breasts and pussy with loose strings running down my body.

Walking closer, Aleksandr placed his hands on the seat behind him and leaned back, studying me. Placing my hands on his knees, I leaned forward and kissed him. “What do you think?” I asked softly.

He didn’t reply but shook his head up and down as he looked into my eyes and back down at my body. Walking back to the changing room, I made sure to swing my hips.

I changed into a bright orange outfit next. As I stood admiring the outfit in the changing room mirror, I noticed the orange combined with my red hair was causing a warm glow over my skin.

This outfit was made from lace. The parts covering my breasts were small circles with thin straps running between them and down the sides of my body. The bottom part was attached to the top with the thin straps. They pulled up high over my hips with a narrow strip running between my legs from the front to the back.

Standing by the curtain leading to the booth, I quickly pulled them open and closed a couple of times. As I opened them fully and stepped out, Aleksandr’s mouth fell open. I did a sexy catwalk to one side, then the other, and finally walked closer to him. Standing before him, I went down on my haunches, opening my legs slowly.

I held his legs as I went and dug my nails in harder the further I went down. Aleksandr grabbed my hands as he leaned forward. “Mila,” he whispered. “Please get dressed; this is not the place to tempt fate.”

As I got up, I noticed him shifting on the seat. I smiled at him and headed back to the dressing room. “I’ve got one more,” I said from behind the curtain.

“No, Mila, get dressed,” I replied in a soft tone.

Once I was dressed, we headed to the counter with the outfits. Aleksandr paid for all three. Taking my hand, he led me out, moving briskly. “I wanted to show you the last one, I said sulkily.

“There was no need. You looked so gorgeous in all of them. You had me on edge. If I had to look at you in another one, I don’t think we would have made it out.” He said, smiling broadly. “You can show me when we get home.”

Feeling satisfied, I nodded. “I don’t know about you, but I feel famished,” I said as we headed back to the car.

After putting away all our shopping, Aleksandr looked around. “I’m sure we could find something to eat around here.” He replied.

“Yes,” I said, grabbing his arm and holding on. Pointing towards a large building, I continued. “There, I know a place in there.”

Leaving the parking area, we walked across the road and went to a lovely steak house I had visited before. It had an amazing view. It was on the fifth floor, overlooking the city.

We entered the restaurant and sat down. Aleksandr appeared more relaxed. He ordered a beer for him and a cocktail for me. I sat staring out at the view. “I’m sorry if I seemed upset,” Aleksandr said. “These are not things I generally go out and do.”

Looking at him, I opened my mouth to speak. But before I could reply, the waiter returned. “Here are your drinks,” he said, placing them on the table. “Can I get you something to eat?”

Aleksandr looked at me for a second before placing his order. Once he was done, I gave the waiter mine. As he left, I turned my gaze back to the view of the city.

I know the life you used to live and the one with me are total opposites,” Aleksandr said softly. Looking at him, I nodded but didn’t reply. Aleksandr took my hands as he continued. “Dear, do you still wish to live your life as you used to?”

Staring into his eyes, I was shocked as I realized, I no longer wanted that life. I enjoyed a domestic but fun married life. My skills were still useful even if I didn’t need them or use them all the time. I was getting used to having them on the side burner.

“Mila?” Aleksandr said, speaking louder.

Snapping back to reality, I smiled tenderly at him. “Our marriage is different but fun. I’m happy I am still able to assist, even if it’s from home at times.”

“I’m so glad you are happy. That you have settled with the changes in your life.” Aleksandr said, kissing my hands.

He picked me up and threw me over his shoulder. Aleksandr tickled me as he walked towards the car. I was kicking and laughing. He stopped next to the car and lowered me. Even though I was out of breath, I couldn’t stop laughing. He opened the door, and I slid into the seat.
