Lilith
“Dimitri was very adamant,” Mrs. Carter says as she holds onto Isadora. “All three were to stay over tonight. He said you had a project that you needed to work on.”
I mean, there’s always schoolwork, but I don’t know how Dimitri would know this. I’ve gone out of my way to avoid him ever since…
I smile. “Well, alright then. Please call if you need anything.”
“Of course.”
She’s closing the door on my face a moment later.
I make my way back to the SUV. Why didn’t he tell me that all three kids were staying? I check my phone just to make sure he didn’t text me or something. I haven’t exactly been with it all week, mostly because I’m not sleeping well. Hard to find a good night’s rest when a disaster is looming over your head. The only bright side is that I haven’t heard from Adam or my uncle all week.
When I pull up to the house, I see a red sports car that I don’t recognize parked in the driveway. Suddenly, Dimitri’s words from last week come crashing back to me.
He’s going on a date tonight. Is that why he wanted all three kids gone for the evening?
I literally feel sick to my stomach.
I sit in the car for a while until I find the courage to go inside. An unfamiliar floral scent lingers in the foyer, but not much further than that. A quick check of the first floor reveals they aren’t here. I look up the stairs. Or, if they are, they’re in his room.
Slowly, I make my way up the steps. When I reach the top, I turn toward his room, stopping in front of the door. I can smell his cologne in the air, but not the perfume. After listening for a moment, I sigh. He’s not here. I shouldn’t be so relieved that he’s not here, but I am and for reasons I’d rather not examine too closely.
I go toward my room and stop when I see a note taped on the door.
Lilith,
Consider tonight an extra night off. Please feel free to use the pool.
-Dimitri
I trace over his name like a love struck fool.
Shaking my head, I enter my room, going to my bed where my laptop is.
I’ve been doing some research on arranged marriages. From what I can tell, Uncle Wolfe can’t really force me to go through with this. Not legally, at least, which is why I’m sure he’s threatened me several times. Also, not legal, but it could ruin my life if my secret got out. I sigh. And it would ruin things.
My head aches. Since I’m not going to solve my problems tonight, I think I’ll listen to Dimitri and go for a swim. It’s hotter than Hades out there tonight, and maybe I’ll have some kind of epiphany while floating under the stars. I send Cecely a text, checking in on Raquel. She assures me that everything is fine and to enjoy my night. There’s a part of me that just wants to go to the apartment and spend time with my little girl, but, again, if the kids decide they want to come home, I’ll be further away.
I change into my purple swimsuit and grab my phone. I was worried about Diego staying the night until I found out that he goes to the same speech therapist as Mrs. Carter’s youngest son. She assured me she knew how to take care of him, and I have to believe Dimitri wouldn’t let them stay if he didn’t trust the Carters.
Outside, I kick off my flip-flops and grab a towel from the pool house, setting it in the chair next to my phone. I might turn my playlist on later, but for now, I just want to swim in silence. The only light comes from the lit pool and from the moon. It’s kind of magical, really.
Using the stairs, I walk into the pool and don’t stop until I’m treading water. God, this is just perfect. I dip my head underwater and then float on my back, looking up at the night sky.
I’m deep in thought when a giggle has me turning, only to find Dimitri walking outside with an older woman. He’s pointing at something, and she nods. Did he…did he really bring his date back here? I shake my head, snapping myself out of my thoughts. Maybe instead of being jealous, I should focus on the real issue at hand. Ya know, the one where I’m in the man’s pool!
The woman says, “It’s beautiful out here, Dimi.”
Dimi? Is this woman for real?
“I have to agree, Jackie. Would you like to sit?”
She giggles again. “Or we could take a dip in the pool.”
She walks her fingers up his chest as she says this.
Dimitri looks past her, his gaze landing on mine.
I mouth ‘I’m so sorry.’
He turns his attention back to the woman, Jackie, and says, “Maybe later. But you should definitely take a peek in the pool house. See if you like the layout.”
Jackie sets off, not even noticing that I’m there. Guess it’s safe to assume where her mind is, and I hate that it makes me jealous.
As soon as she’s in the pool house, I climb out.
“I’m so sorry! You said it was okay to use the pool, and I didn’t know you were home.”
“I know what I said.” His gaze slowly moves over me. “I guess I should be glad you’re at least clothed this time. Not like that night so many years ago.”
My damn body responds to his words and I take a step toward him without thinking.
“Think about that night a lot, Dimitri?”
“And if I did?”
I give him a small smile. “I’d say you weren’t the only one.”
“Oh?”
If I were smart, I wouldn’t say another damn word.
“But not as much as I think about the last time we were in the pool together.” I move even closer. “When I called you Daddy.”
His jaw tics and he looks like he’s about to lose his shit. Smiling, I take a step back.
“Enjoy your date, Daddy .”
I’ve taken two steps away from him when he grabs my arm, pulling me flush against his chest. He then walks me backward until my back is pressed against the side of the house and we’re hidden in the shadows.
“I’d be very careful throwing that word around, little girl.”
A dark thrill shoots through me.
“And why is that?”
“Because I can only take so much.”
“You said something similar five years ago.”
“I did,” he agrees. “And it still stands.”
“Want to know what I think? I think you’re full of it.”
“You do, do you?”
“Yup.” I pop the ‘p’ for good measure.
“Let’s test your theory, then. Walk away from me, Lilith. Let’s see how far you get.”
Goosebumps lift on my skin at the use of my name.
“I think you’re forgetting something.”
His eyebrow raises. “And what would that be?”
“Your date.”
“It’s not a date.”
“Does she know that?”
“She knows.”
“Why is she in the pool house, then?”
“She’s looking at the layout to get an idea for her own pool house.”
“Old people sure go on weird dates…”
“Stop deflecting, Lilith. Now, are you going to play?”
I’m so damned aroused that it’s hard to think, much less move. But I nod.
“Yes.”
“Good. I’ll give you a head start.”
My heart pounds. “A head start?”
“Until I come after you.”
I moisten my lips. “Where should I go?”
“Good girl.” He dips his head to the left. “Go to the wooded area behind the house. See if you can make it to the greenhouse.”
“Can I at least grab my shoes?”
He snorts softly. “Sure you can, but that’s not going to stop me from counting. You have thirty seconds. Understand?”
“What happens if you catch me?”
“Whatever I want.”
I swear to god I almost come just by the way he says those three words.
“Lilith?”
I exhale. “Okay. Thirty seconds. Got it.”
I can see my shoes still next to the pool. He’s right that it’ll eat some of my time to grab them, but it’ll be better than running barefoot through the woods in the middle of the night.
I take off, rushing to grab my flip-flops. I slide them on my feet and then run like the devil is after me. Glancing over my shoulder, I find Dimitri standing there, watching me with a look on his face that makes my heart race faster. He might be worse than the devil.
I reach the wooded area behind the house and hear his voice drift through the air.
“Jackie, something has come up and I need to run.”
I don’t hear Jackie’s reply because I run even faster. My heart pounds. Each beat seems to scream, ‘he’s coming, he’s coming.’ The crazy thing is that I’m excited that he’s chasing me.
I think I hear a tree branch break behind me, so I turn to the left and then zigzag my way through the trees. It’s darker out here. Cooler, too. An owl hoots somewhere above me, but the sound blends in to the pounding of my heart.
A branch breaks to my right, so I swerve to the left and go faster. This body of mine is not meant for cardio, and I’m already slowing as I run out of steam. A large tree looms ahead. If I can make it to the tree, then I’ll be safe. I chant that mantra to myself, even though I’m so damn tired.
Just when I think I’m going to make it, Dimitri grabs me from behind, wrapping his arms around me.
“Got you,” he says in my ear.
I pant, trying to get out of his grip, but he’s too damn strong. That doesn’t stop me from struggling.
One of his hands moves lower, brushing over my stomach.
“My favorite swimsuit,” he murmurs as he reaches my mound. “Tell me, Lilith, are you wet for Daddy?”
I shake my head even though I know it’s a lie.
He hums under his breath. “Is that so? Shall I check?”
He doesn’t wait for me to reply as he pushes my swimsuit aside. I shudder against him as his finger skims against my skin.
“Well, well. What do we have here?” He lifts his hand, holding it in front of me. “Open wide.”
My lips part and he pushes his fingers between my lips.
“Suck.”
I do and taste my arousal. A soft whimper leaves my lips, and he chuckles.
“Don’t worry, little girl. Daddy is going to make everything better.”
I don’t know what comes over me, but I jerk one last time and break free from his grasp. His dark laugh follows me as I run as fast as I can from him. There’s a thrill that shoots through me, knowing that he’s going to follow. I’ll have to look into this fucked up part of me later, but for now I’m just going to live in the moment. And run.
Ahead, I spot the greenhouse that Dimitri was talking about. I rush toward the white building, thinking I’m going to make it this time. That’s when Dimitri slams into me from behind. I cry out, closing my eyes as I brace for the impact of the ground beneath me. I mean, my poor knees have just healed from my last fall outside…
Instead, Dimitri rolls us, so he lands on the ground on his back, and I land on him.
I’m stunned and Dimitri seizes the moment, rolling over so I’m pinned beneath him. The hunger in his eyes has heat rushing to all parts of my body. That heat turns into a wildfire when I feel his erection pressing into me.
“Got you again.”
I moisten my lips. “Now that you have me, what are you going to do with me?”
“Anything I want.”
My pulse thrums in my neck, but I nod. “Okay.”
“Okay? That willing to comply?”
“I trust you.”
“Oh, minha vida , that’s your first mistake. Didn’t anyone ever tell you not to trust the big, bad wolf?”
Holding his gaze, I arch my back and pull the top of my swimsuit down until my breasts are bared.
“Maybe I want to see just how far you’ll go, Daddy .”
I say the last word as a challenge, and his eyes darken.
“I did say that I’d do whatever I wanted when I caught you, didn’t I? And I’m a man of my word.” He leans back. “Roll over and get on your knees.”
I scramble to do as he says. He pushes me so I’m on my forearms and moves behind me. I hold my breath in anticipation as he unzips his pants, leaving no question where this is going.
“This is your last chance, Lilith.”
I glance over my shoulder and whimper. His cock is out, and he pumps it as he looks down at me.
“Last chance for what?”
“To tell me no. Once I have you, you’re mine. Understand?”
“I understand.”
“Do you? Because I won’t hold back. You’ll be mine and no one else’s.”
I nod. “I want that.”
He stares at me and then moves over me. I groan as his weight pushes me into the ground. That groan turns into a moan when he pulls my swimsuit aside and I feel the tip of his cock at my opening.
“Are you on birth control?”
I nod.
And I am. I wasn’t when we had sex before and had to learn the hard way what can happen when you have a random hook-up in a bathroom.
With no warning, he slams into me, filling me like I’ve never been filled before.
“Oh my god,” I moan.
He thrusts again. “That’s right, minha vida . You’re full of the Primal God right now.”
I don’t have time to decipher his words because he rocks into me, hitting a spot that has my fingers digging into the dirt because it feels so freaking good. We’re fucking like animals, and I love it. I love it so much that I arch into him. He keeps hitting the same spot until I cry out as I come.
When he pulls out, I whimper again. He rolls me over on my back and slams into me. All I can do is hold on to him.
“You feel so fucking good, minha vida ,” he pants. “Like I’ve come home.”
“Harder! Please!”
We’re spinning into madness, and nothing is going to stop us. When our lips crash together, I know I’ll never be the same. Because Dimitri Santos has just ruined me for any other man.
“I’m so close!”
“Come on Daddy’s cock.”
I let out a guttural groan as an intense orgasm rips through my body. Dimitri thrusts a few more times before pulling out. Hot spurts of cum land over my pussy, marking me in the most primal way.
He stares down at me and is about to say something when his phone rings.
“Fuck. I have to get this.”
I nod, pushing myself into a sitting position.
“This is Dr. Santos. Yes. Fine. I’ll be there in an hour.” He ends the call and sighs. “They need me at the hospital.”
Suddenly, the heat and passion I felt moments ago vanishes and is replaced with uncertainty. I quickly pull up my swimsuit and stand, brushing away any dirt or leaves that I see.
Dimitri puts himself together and turns to me.
“I expect you to be naked in my bed when I return from the hospital.”
“What?”
“I meant what I said, Lilith. You’re mine.”
My lips part and all I can do is nod.
He leans forward, tipping my chin. “Now, are you going to be a good girl and listen to Daddy, or will I have to come and get you when I get home?”
The heat is back, and I smile.
“I guess you’ll just have to wait and see.”
