Let me put it to bed. Nigga put me to bed over there, looking like everything delicious. The last few days that this man hadn’t lived inside of me felt like years. It was more than that, and I knew it. I took a deep breath because I felt like I was going to combust if I couldn’t get my feelings off my chest. I hadn’t spoken about the text messages I found. I was trying to sweep it under the rug and tell myself I shouldn’t have been snooping in the first place. It was eating me alive.
“Well, I just want to know the truth. Look, Prince, you know I've been through so much shit, and at this point, no matter what happens between us, I can’t be mad. Just tell me the truth is all I’m asking.” My hands fumbled under the table. They were so clammy and sweaty that I was afraid to wipe them against my dress, fearing I would stain the dark blue fabric.
He placed his drink down and looked at me squarely. Those sleepy brown eyes had the same effect they always did whenever he looked my way. I loved this man more than sensibility and that scared the hell out of me. Because the whole reason I didn’t bring this up for days was I wasn’t sure I was ready to walk away from this. Prince had his hooks in me and there was nothing I could do about it.
“You keep telling me to tell you the truth and you haven’t asked me a question.”
“Let’s not do this game, Prince. You know what I mean. You have been so busy these last few weeks. Breaking our dates and all. Things are changing, and I can say that it wouldn’t hurt me, but I’m a big girl. We promised no secrets when we entered into this. Please keep your promise to me. I deserve that. No I demand that.” I straightened my back, remembering the things he told me. He wiped his mouth with the napkin in front of him, threw it back on the table, and went for his wallet, signaling the dinner was coming to a close as quickly as it started.
“Let’s go.” He lifted me by the hand, and in a blur, I was moving toward the door. Prince’s long strides had me losing my breath. When my feet met the concrete, I pulled back, and his eyes blazed as he looked back at me. I was never afraid of what Prince might do to me physically, but at that moment, I saw everything on his face. This man was tired beyond belief. All the things he had on his plate and he never stopped. I shook my head before I started doing it again. No, my feelings were important. If I had a question, it deserved to be answered.
“All this just to not answer a damn question. Prince, really?” I folded my arms across my chest.
“Then ask me, baby.” He regained his flat-footed, I mean business stance and penetrated my eyes.
“Are you cheating on me, before you answer, please just tell me the truth; I went through your phone and saw that while you have been at work, you’ve been flying. So I want the truth. I can handle it.” The air around me sucked in.
“No. And I would fucking never. I love you, Le. I mean that shit with everything inside of me. I’ve been working on things to surprise you. I didn’t want to worry you while I’m clearing things up for us. Our past won’t haunt us, Le.” I knew exactly what he was doing with that last phrase. It made me look around so that no one would hear even though they wouldn’t be able to decipher his words.
He stepped forward with so much determination in his gaze it unnerved me. Instantly I felt like a fool because I believed every damn word this man said. If I didn’t know before today, I knew at this very moment I didn’t just believe Prince. I believed in him. His character and all the things he promised. I never thought I would get to this place with any man. It took all of a few seconds for me to realize I was the one foolish. I should’ve just spoken to him sooner and all this angst I was feeling over the last few days could have been avoided.
“Look, Prince I…”
“Let me show you what has had me so busy. At least for the last few days.”
“No, I believe you. We should just go back and have dinner.”
“You deserve to know.” I looked down at my shoes as tears rushed to the brim. Something so simple, and I was going to be a mess. When I looked up, he was so close I could feel his breath. His hand went to the base of my neck and made me look into his eyes.
“I’m proud of you. Every time you feel some shit off, bring it to me. That’s how you speak for yourself, baby.” He thumbed away the tear that made its way down my right cheek and kissed my lips tenderly. I clutched onto him, and he broke us apart quickly.
“Don’t speak to me now. Let’s go.” He gripped my hand again. I giggled as I walked past a few people who saw our interaction. I’d be damned if I was embarrassed about having a human moment. I felt so free walking to the car with my man hand in hand. He opened the door, and I slipped inside. It was like as soon as my cheeks hit the leather, I put two and two together that I had a surprise coming.
“Wait, you said you were showing me something.” I inquired as he cranked up the car.
“Only a few minutes. Yo pretty ass gone see.” He tossed me his phone, and I unlocked it to select the music for the ride.
“No city girl shit.” That pulled a laugh from me, and I knew he only said it to make me smile. I caught how beautiful the scenery was as we rode through the night. Riding through the city was something a country girl could never quite get used to. I thought for years I wanted to settle down somewhere slow and hide from everyone, but the more experience I had with Prince, the more I wanted to be around easily accessible things. Prince would drive, but with the way he worked, the last thing I wanted was for him to be behind the wheel an hour each time we needed to go somewhere.
“What you smiling at?” He must've caught my reflection out of the window.
“Just thinking about life. The future really.”
“I better be in it.”
“You might be.” I sat forward with a grin.
“Put this on. We are getting close.” Prince loosened his tie and dropped it in my lap.
“You serious?”
“Dead ass,” he replied. I was out of arguments so I slipped it around my eyes. When we pulled to a stop he came to my side, helping me out of the car.
“A few steps here. One, two, three.”
On wobbly feet, I looked around like I could make out something. I felt him tug at the tie, and when it fell, my mouth opened. The waterworks started again.
“What is this?” I asked, though I knew.
“This is yours.”
“Prince, no. Baby, why?” I asked as I moved around the spacious food truck. It was huge, and every amenity he selected had me in mind. The built-in ovens would be perfect for my cakes, and they would provide me with a way not to lug everything from the house. I could start when he started his days, and by lunchtime, I could serve with no problem.
“Come look at the outside.” Still in awe, I let him lead me.
“This is beautiful!” I touched my logo outside the truck. The yellow and red colors of my logo meshed so well with the black truck. It was so professional. It was everything I had ever wanted, and I hadn’t even imagined it in my dreams yet.
“I feel so bad for accusing you of anything, Prince.”
“Don’t. I got caught up.” I tried to speak, but he shook his head, and I knew he had more to say, so I waited patiently. “I tend to get caught up with shit. On one hand, that can be very good.” He licked his lips and gave me a once-over that made me tingle. “On the other hand, things can consume me to the point where I just want to get it done. In those times I want you to do exactly what you did. I need you to talk to me. I need you to tell me what you are feeling, and whenever you need me, I want you to know you can have that. Nothing comes before you. It can’t be with the way you make me feel, Le.”
“Oh my God,” I whispered, not knowing what else to say. I was so overwhelmed.
“Let’s go back inside. Did you see everything?” He pulled me back inside. I wiped my eyes as we stepped back inside. The next tears I wanted coming down my face were from me gagging from his dick hitting the back of my throat repeatedly. I missed my fucking man, and it was no time like the present.
“Did you see this?”
“I’ve seen enough,” I spoke seductively as I closed in on him. He picked up on my tone and licked his thick lips. I pushed him against the counter and went to my knees. I loosened his belt and gave it to him in case he wanted to tie my hands.
“Gah damn, Le,” he whispered in anticipation. The breeze from the open door was our only background noise. The weather was perfect and in the sixties. I unbuckled his belt, and his dick was ready for me. It sprang forward out of his zipper before I could zip it all the way down. It popped out looking so damn delicious, and the smell of bourbon teakwood intensified and made me drool. He always smelled so damn good.
“Fuck!” Prince moaned out as soon as his dick hit the back of my throat. He gripped a handful of hair and pushed me down again and again. I looked up at him. He loved everything I was giving. His bottom lip was tucked in his mouth, and his eyes closed as his head tilted upward.
“Mmm,” I moaned, calling his eyes to me. I pulled his dick from my mouth momentarily, making sure I left trails of spit, creating the show he loved. I lifted his dick and placed his balls in my mouth. This nigga had just bought me a whole damn food truck, so nothing was being spared. I wanted this nigga throwing up gang signs in his shoes. I licked up his shaft and put him back in my mouth, adding my hands to the party.
“Gah damn Le. Hold up.” He begged for mercy, but I wasn’t going. I wanted every drop of him in my mouth.
“Hell nah.” Tightening my grip again, thinking he was trying to rip away from me, he surprised me when he crotched down, gripped my legs, and spun me around by the waist. He braced me with a firm hand around right above my ass. With his free hand, he ripped my panties from me, and I damn near lost all sense for a moment. My pussy was directly in his face and his warm breath already had me tingling.
“You think you gone be the only one having fun? Hell nah. Look at this pretty muthafucka. You did this for me?”
Only when I tried to talk did I get back on task. It was supposed to be about his pleasure but he had my body radiating because I knew exactly what was to come. His lips attached to my bottom sets and the slow melodic licks he gave made me reach out and grab his legs.
“Shit,” I moaned.
“Nah I gotta get this muthafucka. Put that shit on my face baby.” He locked me in so I couldn’t move. I was trying to stay focused but he knew what to do to detonate my body. Halfway through, he got tired of playing with my ass. His dick slipped from my mouth as he flipped me back upright and I had no power to resist. He sank down to a sitting position. One thing I did know, if I wanted it to be my show, I could not have Prince licking me to oblivion.
“Put that muthafucka on my face,” he called, trying to lift me by the thighs. Instead of obliging, I hiked my skirt and slid down his hard dick.
“Fuck yo’ ass just don’t want to listen, huh? Must want me to punish that ass.” He smacked my right ass cheek as I bounced up and down. I needed every inch. Prince filled me so well. He stretched my walls so sweetly it was like I was made for him.
“I know what you are trying to do, but you don’t have to thank me for this. You are my woman, and I always fucking got you. You hear me? I fucking love you girl.”
“I love you too baby. Now shut up and fuck me.”
He gripped my hips and slammed me down onto him while he thrust his hips upward to meet me. My head flew back as I gripped his chest. The delicious force he was using was getting me close to the edge. His right hand went to my breast while his lips closed on my waiting bud on my left. He bit down and I could feel every nerve in my body.
“Ahh fuck!” I screamed as I rained down on him. My eyes closed as I rode the wave and when they popped open that intense stare met me.
“Damn, my pussy needed me, huh? How many do you want baby?” he asked rhetorically because the next thing I knew, I was on my knees, and he was entering me from behind. Finally, he used his belt to bind my arms behind me, and he braced the middle for leverage. His hand encased my closed palms and pushed as deep as he could get. I looked out of the opened door and saw the moon and stars in the sky. Nothing beat the scenery and nothing beat the man I was sharing my body with. Sharing my life with. I never thought I would feel this way, but Prince was dismantling every preconceived notion I had about love. This was it and this was how I should feel.
“Damn, you feel so fucking good. I can’t wait to give you my fucking last name.” I bucked back harder against him at his admission. That was the first time I’d heard him say that, and the excitement pulsed through me knowing he meant what he said.
“Damn, you trying to get this cum?”
“Yessss,” I purred.
“Bring it here. Fuck my mouth.” I made my move and flipped around. I opened my mouth and pressed my tongue out, waiting for him to take control. He fisted my hair and pulled me to his dick, just like I liked it. He worked himself in my mouth, and when his moans hit a different octave, I knew he was ready. He released, and I didn’t waste a drop. Once his cum was free from my mouth, I opened my mouth to show him that I swallowed it all like the good girl he earned me to be for him.
“You so fucking nasty.” He gripped my neck and kissed my lips. “I hope you know yo ass ain’t going nowhere.” He breathed while untying my hands.
“Trust me, I’m not running anywhere,” I said, collapsing.
“Oh shit.”
“What?” I sat up when I heard his frantic voice.
“We fucked around and turned some of this shit on.”
I burst out laughing as he turned everything back off. This was undoubtedly the best day of my life. I was so afraid to go to sleep because feeling this way had to be a dream that I never wanted to wake from. As much as my heart raced from the thought of this love, the assault that Prince put on my body made my eyes flutter closed, knowing he would get me home safely.
I woke up in our bed with the sun beaming on my face. My smile was intact before I even removed the sleepiness from my eyes. I stretched my hands up and instantly felt a heaviness on my left hand. I opened my eyes fully, and they stretched wide as saucers. The beautiful ring reflected off the sun as the whole room looked a pretty yellow hue. The diamonds surrounding my favorite stone. The pure yellow sapphire had to set this man back an entire project. I told myself I didn’t want to sleep last night and couldn’t believe I woke up to this dream continuing. I looked to my left and the room was completely filled with roses.
I couldn’t see shit after I realized what he had done while I was sleeping. He loved me.
“Alesha Monroe Montgomery.” Only then did I realize that Prince was on the side of the bed on one knee. I threw my hand over my mouth as he stole my breath. With each blink of my eyes, more joy spilled from them. There was no use in stopping that. I felt so overwhelmed. A feeling I had gotten used to but not like this. This was different. This was better than my wildest dreams. From this point forward, I would never be afraid to fall asleep again. I would be happy to close my eyes, anticipating what the next day would bring. I couldn’t believe this. I know he told me as recently as last night, but I was still lost for words as he held my hand, pulling my attention toward him.
“Calm down, baby. Breathe for me.”
I nodded my head, not realizing I was damn near hyperventilating.
“When I met you, I knew, but I never would have thought you would climb into my heart the way you have. I knew it was worth breaking down every wall that you had to experience the beauty of the person you are. Yes, you were guarded in a way that I never experienced, but earning your trust has been worth every moment. The beauty of you being stripped bare in front of me I will never take for granted. I’m here telling you I will go through anything. I will run through those walls any day and every day because what you have added to my life is something that no one can match. Yes, I plan to ask you in front of all our family and friends but our journey is personal to us. There are so many things that people don’t know and will never know. I’ll never betray your confidence. I want you to know that for me, there is no reason to hesitate. I know what I want, and that’s to spend the rest of my life making you the happiest woman alive. Please Le Monroe, take my last name.”
My feet met the floor as I tried to gather my words. I wanted to say something so prolific because how could the answer not be yes? I knew his next words were going to tell me to breathe again, but my eyes overrode his.
“How long have you been down there waiting on me to get up?” I sobbed, and he burst out laughing. I was so glad I had a man who understood me. That was the last thing that I thought would come out of my mouth, and his laughter was infectious. It brought my breathing to an even pace, so I could now give him the answer he deserved. He pushed my legs back on the bed and climbed on top of me.
“That better mean, yes.”
“Yes! Of course, Prince, I would be honored.”
“The pleasure is mine.”
He kissed my lips, and the next thing I knew, my fiancé was sliding inside of me once again.
