" O k, so I kind of have to go back before the club." I start.
"What? The club was on Saturday, and I picked you up on Tuesday. What could have happened in those four days?" She looks confused and a bit angry.
"Ok let me explain. So you know when we got home Tuesday night, and you were drunk as shit? Well, I noticed your phone going off. A lot. So I opened it up..."
"You hacked into my phone?" She accuses.
"No, not hacked. Thank you very much! I used your password. Only had to try one time because I know you." She looks a bit less angry and more amused. "Anyway. It was that Alec guy from the bar. And I erased his existence from your phone entirely."
"What? Why the fuck would you do that, Lucian? That's so fucked up." Oh boy, if she thinks that about just erasing some messages, I’m a goner. Jayme is sitting there with his shit-eating grin. He is already aware of everything that led up to that night, so this is pure entertainment for him.
"I’m sorry, but... I don’t know Cass, that day started changing things. I don’t know if it was cause I was gone for so long or what, but even when I saw you at the airport, it felt different. You have always been beautiful, but I couldn’t take my eyes off you at the airport. When we hugged, I wanted to kiss you so badly. But I just brushed it off as I have a connection with you and missed you." I laugh, but she doesn’t look amused. I clear my throat and continue.
"So anyways, after getting rid of the texts and stuff, I saw there was an app on your phone... KNKI. And I was curious."
"Oh my God. Please tell me you didn’t snoop through my entire phone."
"Yes, I did. And I’m sorry. I just saw the app and got curious. Those photos of you were so hot. I’ve never looked at you like that before. But on the way up to your apartment, when I was carrying your drunk ass, you were kissing and nibbling my neck, getting me all turned on. And then, when I saw your photos, I couldn’t help myself."
"Wait. Photos? I only have the one photo... you went into my gallery too? Jesus Lucian. That means you had to hack into the private folder."
"Oh sure, hack. Like 6969 is a secure password. Jesus Cass." She’s blushing, but her eyes are straight daggers into my soul.
"Okay, yes, I did things I shouldn’t have done, but I don’t regret them because they made me start thinking that you could be with a man like me," I plead.
"What do you mean a man like you? I’ve known you for over half your life. What could you possibly be hiding that would make me not want to be with you?"
Jayme scoffs in the corner.
"Shut it!" I quip back.
"So, when I was over in California, Jayme took me to a club. He introduced me to a lot of new things, and it unlocked something in me. Something dark. Something that, until that day, I didn’t think you could handle knowing about without looking at me like I was a freak. But seeing that app and those photos, I realized you're just like me. Well, sort of, you’re the other half of me."
"Wait, so the club in California was a kink club like Vixens?"
"Yep, they are actually partner clubs. I became a Dom. Jayme is also a Dom. He showed me the lifestyle, and I realized it was the part of me I had been hiding from for a long time. And you are a sub. I never thought you would be into that kind of stuff. I mean shit, Cassie, you used to blush if someone jokingly said, "suck a dick." So what was I supposed to think." She ponders over what I said.
"I mean, I get why you thought I wouldn't understand. But that still doesn’t excuse you going through my shit. Ok so, besides that, how did you guys end up finding me at the club? Not once did Theo and I text about the actual club. We always just called it the usual place."
"So, after you and I were making out, and you pulled away and basically made it seem like you didn’t want me, I was so furious. For those entire four days, you inhabited my mind entirely. You were all I could think about. The only one I wanted to be with. So when I thought there was no hope for us, I decided to go to Vixens to get you out of my system."
"Wait, you guys were there for the auction? How did you get invited when you had only been back in town four fucking days? I was told that the club had a very strict policy regarding invitation-only events." She looks at Jayme. "Let me guess, you had something to do with it?"
"He puts his hands up in surrender. "Hey, don’t be mad at me; I just know the owners of both clubs. They are family."
"Figures." She turns her fury back on me. "So you were there to buy a fucking girl? Together? Are you two like a thing?"
"No!" I snap.
"Ouch, man, I would be an amazing boyfriend to you." Jayme laughs.
"Not the time, Jayme." I snap.
"Sorry," He laughs, returning his attention to his phone and pretending not to be interested in our argument.
"Yes, we were there to win a girl or two. We have shared girls in the past. It’s fun. And you can’t even deny it because I know you enjoyed that night as much as we did!"
"Fine! but how the hell did you know it was me?"
"Your collar! Not many girls have the same diamond studded collar. Plus, I read your bio page, and when you stepped on stage, I knew it was you from the moment I saw you. I could pick you out of any lineup, Cass."
"Hey, I was the one who screamed. It was her first." Jayme chimes in.
"Yes, and that’s why we got outed to Theo and Alec."
"WHAT! Alec was there? The guy from the bar?" She grabs my arm. "Was he the other bidder?"
"Yep, it was us, Theo, and him. He came up after and chatted. Theo knew who we were as soon as Jayme opened his big mouth." I roll my eyes at him, and he just grins. She glances over at him.
"Thank you. I know you probably wanted to buy another girl, one that you actually intended on fucking, but honestly, thank you. I’m glad you guys were the ones that won me. And that night was the best night I have ever had.” Her cheeks blush, but then her face falls, and she starts to cry. She covers her face with her hands, trying to hide her tears.
"Cass, what’s wrong?" I put an arm around her shoulder, and she startles. Shifting away from my touch.
"Sorry, I just was remembering some stuff that happened. It came flooding back so fast. I don’t know what to do. I see him every time I sleep.” She cries.
“It will take time. You can’t rush healing. Maybe talking to a professional will help, like the doctor said.”
“What if I never get back to normal? What if he haunts me forever? Even though he is dead, he is still hurting me.” She cries against my chest again.
“I love you, Cassie. I will be here for whatever you need, whenever you need me.” I tell her as she continues to cry. If I could resurrect him and kill him again, I would.
