Savannah

We step into the restaurant Joel Robuchon at the MGM Grand . The dining room is an art piece itself—plush black and white décor with gold accents, a mosaic floor glinting under the light of an enormous crystal chandelier.

It fits Blaze like a tailored suit.

As we step inside, I glance around, expecting to see Sean and Aubrey. “So, where are they? Don’t tell me they bailed.”

Blaze slides his hand to the small of my back, guiding me toward our table. “Sean texted. Aubrey wasn’t feeling great—pregnancy, the flight, stress. But they’re fine. They said we should go ahead without them.”

I stop, raising an eyebrow. “Convenient.”

He grins, pulling out a chair for me. “Suspicious, or do you just miss Aubrey already?”

I let him seat me, settling into the plush chair. “She keeps you in line, Ice. That’s an irreplaceable job.”

The meal begins with small plates that are as beautiful as they are delicious.

As we chat about the festival, teasing each other between bites, Blaze signals to the waiter and orders champagne. The server nods and disappears, and Blaze’s attention returns fully to me.

Every time his eyes meet mine, there’s something beneath the surface—something intense, almost like he’s waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

“So, what’s this really about?” I ask, leaning back as dessert arrives. “You’ve got that look.”

“What look?” he asks, too casually.

“The one that says, ‘I’m up to something.’”

He chuckles, then leans forward, resting his elbows on the table. “You’re too smart for your own good, Hart.”

Blaze shifts, his tone changing.

“Savannah, I need you to hear this.”

My stomach flips. “Okay…”

“You’ve changed everything for me. Before you, my life was hockey, mistakes, and damage control. But you—” He pauses, squeezing my hands gently. “You make me want to be better. You make me want… more.”

“Blaze…” I trail off, unsure what to say.

He reaches into his jacket and pulls out a small velvet box. My heart nearly stops.

“I want every moment from now on to include you,” he says, flipping the box open. Inside is a breathtaking engagement ring—a sparkling diamond flanked by two smaller sapphires that catch the light.

The air rushes out of my lungs. “Blaze, this is… beautiful.”

“It’s more than that,” he says, his voice low. “The sapphires? They’re from the necklace my mom wore on her wedding day. Each of us siblings has two gems from it. This ring isn’t just about me. It’s about family. And you’re part of that now.”

My throat tightens as I look up at him. “Are you sure? I mean, isn’t it too soon? We haven’t exactly dated for years.”

He doesn’t flinch, his voice steady. “I know I’ve been impulsive before. But not this time.” A soft smile curves his lips. “When you know, you know. And we’ve already lived more in these weeks than most couples do in years. We’re a team, Sav. A winning team.”

“Well, when you put it that way…” My voice breaks into a smile. “You’re a great salesman, you know that?”

His lips twitch into a smirk as he slides the ring onto my finger, his touch deliberate, his gaze locked on mine. “So, do you buy me?”

I laugh, pulling him into a kiss. “Sold.”

The kiss is more than just a kiss. It’s joy, relief, and love rolled into one. The kind of kiss that makes the world outside of us disappear.

As we pull apart, I glance down at the ring again, tracing the delicate gems with my fingertip. “This… it means so much more than I can put into words.”

Blaze cups my cheek, his thumb brushing lightly over my skin. “Good. Because words don’t do it justice.”

He leans in for another kiss, and I know—without a doubt—that I’ve made the right choice.
