I tucked my arm under my head and relaxed the best I could. The white noise of the AC settled my thoughts as a slow smile spread across my lips. Sin City had all eyes on the Gates family as they held the wedding of the century.

“Nice to see you out and among the living.” His voice was quiet as he loomed over me. I didn’t open my eyes.

“Nice to be out.”

He chuckled. “Hope this doesn’t trigger thoughts of old times.”

“Nah. As long as I get my shower to myself, I’m happy.”

I felt the fabric on his suit brush against me. “That looks good on you.” I rolled my head and admired the tattoo. The bold lines stood out from the redness of my tender skin. It would always remind me that I made my own choices.

“I think so too.” I smiled at him. I’d waited a long time for this. The guy nodded and finished up. He covered it with gel and plastic.

“You ready?”

“I am.” I looked at the tattoo again then swung my legs over the chair and ran a hand through my shaggy hair. “I was ready years ago when you first approached me.”

We headed out back from the small tattoo parlor and stepped into what looked like a room from Indulge. At least forty men moved to their seats as I took my place in front of them at the head of the table. I grinned at Salazar as they all clapped and cheered. I held up my arm and made a fist, my new tattoo visible for all to see.

“To the Potens! To our future,” I boomed.
