Epilogue

Skylar

I stand in the middle of Garrett's—no, our—penthouse, surrounded by a sea of cardboard boxes in the space that’s about to become my new home.

I pause unpacking, a framed sketch in my hands, and watch Garrett rearranging his bookshelves to make room for my eclectic collection.

It’s still surreal how much has changed in such a short time—from the moment I saw Garrett again at my graduation party to the whirlwind of passion and danger that followed, and now, moving in together and building a life.

As if reading my thoughts, Garrett sets down the books he’s holding and crosses the room to me. He wraps his arms around me from behind, his lips brushing the top of my head.

“You know,” he murmurs, “I never thought I’d want this. Someone sharing my space.”

I smile, leaning back against him, feeling the gentle rise and fall of his breathing. “And now?”

“Now, I can’t imagine it any other way.” His eyes drift to the collection of knickknacks I’ve arranged on his bookshelf. “Even if it means my million-dollar sleek display case is now home to a glittery unicorn snow globe, a lava lamp shaped like a pickle, and… is that a singing fish plaque?”

I can’t help but giggle. “Don’t forget the rainbow-colored garden gnome wearing a bikini. He’s essential for good feng shui.”

Garrett’s chest rumbles with laughter against my back. “Of course. How could I have missed him? He ties the room together.”

“See? You’re learning already.” I turn in his arms and press a kiss to his jaw. “Your fancy man cave needed some whimsy.”

He shakes his head, but his eyes are warm. “Only you could make me love the chaos, Skylar. Only you.”

I return to unpacking a box of my clothes, sneaking glances at Garrett as he continues to rearrange his bookshelves to accommodate my collection.

Suddenly, Garrett pauses, a mischievous glint in his eye. “I almost forgot,” he says, reaching behind a stack of boxes. “I got you a little housewarming gift.”

My heart flutters with anticipation, quickly followed by a pang of anxiety. A gift? Was I supposed to get him something too? Oh no, I didn’t even think of it. What kind of girlfriend am I?

I try to keep my smile in place as he hands me a small, wrapped package, but inside, I’m berating myself. Way to go, Skylar.

He’s always so thoughtful, and you couldn’t even manage a simple gift. Typical.

Pushing down my self-doubt, I tear into the paper, gasping when I reveal a beautiful, handcrafted kaleidoscope. It's a riot of colors—blues, purples, and greens swirling together in an intricate pattern.

“It's beautiful!” Genuine joy momentarily overrides my anxiety.

I turn it over, admiring the craftsmanship, even as a small voice in my head whispers that I don't deserve such a thoughtful gift.

He grins, clearly pleased by my reaction. “Look inside,” he urges.

I lift the kaleidoscope to my eye, and a delighted laugh escapes me. The world transforms into a dazzling array of shapes and colors, shifting and changing with each slight movement.

“Oh my God, it's amazing!” I gush, spinning slowly to see how the patterns change with different views of the room. For a moment, I forget my worries, lost in the kaleidoscope's magic.

Garrett chuckles, watching me with undisguised affection. “I thought you'd like it. There's one more thing, though.”

He pulls out another, smaller box and hands it to me. My stomach twists with guilt. Two gifts? And I have nothing for him. I'm such a disappointment.

I reluctantly put down the kaleidoscope to open the box, revealing a stunning Bulgari necklace. The gems catch the light, sparkling brilliantly.

“Garrett,” I breathe, “it's gorgeous.” And way too much, a part of me thinks. I don't deserve this.

He beams, clearly proud of himself. Then an idea strikes me, and I can't resist. I pick up the kaleidoscope again and peer at the necklace through it.

The effect is magical. The gems transform into a galaxy of twinkling stars, shifting and dancing as I move the kaleidoscope.

“Oh, wow,” I gasp, momentarily forgetting my self-doubt. “Garrett, you have to see this!”

Garrett bursts into laughter, the sound warm and rich. “Only you, Skylar,” he says, shaking his head in amusement. “Only you would look at a fortune in jewels through a toy.”

I grin up at him, but inside, I'm cringing. Is he disappointed? Does he think I'm childish? But his eyes are warm and full of love, and I allow myself to relax a little.

“But it makes it even more beautiful! Look!” I hold the kaleidoscope up to his eye, and he humors me, taking a peek. His expression softens.

“You're right,” he admits, pulling me close. “It is pretty amazing.”

I set both gifts down carefully and wrap my arms around him, burying my face in his chest to hide the tears pricking at my eyes.

“Thank you,” I murmur. “For everything. The gifts, this home, and for being you.”

Garrett pulls me close, his lips brushing my forehead. “We should celebrate.”

“How about dinner out?”

“I like the sound of that, but we still haven't christened every room in this place,” he says.

“Well, we can't have that, can we?” I laugh, a familiar heat building between us. “Race you to the bedroom?”

Garrett grins, his eyes darkening with desire. “You're on.”

As we rush through our new home, laughing and stumbling over boxes, I'm filled with joy. We collapse onto the bed, breathless and giddy.

As Garrett's lips trail down my neck and his hands slip under my shirt, I close my eyes and surrender.

“I love you, Daddy,” I say, a small smile playing on my lips.

Garrett's gaze darkens. “You know how much I love it when you call me that.”

“I have some idea,” I tease, pressing my hips against him.

Garrett raises an eyebrow, his expression turning stern. “Looks like you need a reminder of who's in charge. Since you have trouble staying quiet, I'll find another way to keep that sassy mouth occupied.”

I giggle. “How do you plan to do that?”

Garrett's thumb brushes my lip. “I could kiss you until you're breathless. Or, if you're particularly bratty, I'll find another use for this pretty mouth.”

My cheeks flush. The thought of Garrett using my mouth for his pleasure is exhilarating. “I'll be good, promise.”

A slow smile spreads across Garrett's face, and he leans down to press a soft kiss to my lips. “Good girl. Now, let's see if you should get your reward.”

He pulls back slightly, his eyes never leaving mine. “Get over here, baby girl.”

I crawl toward him on the bed, feeling the soft sheets brush against my bare skin.

I eagerly nod, unable to tear my gaze away. “Yes, Daddy.”

He chuckles, slowly shedding his boxers.

I can feel the heat radiating off of him as he undoes his belt and slowly lowers his pants revealing the massive erection, straining against his underwear.

My mouth waters.

I breathe, reaching out to touch him. My fingers tentatively brush against his hardness, causing my stomach to flutter.

“That's a good girl,” he whispers, his voice rough with desire. “Now, show Daddy what you've learned.”

He grabs my face and guides me. As he guides me into position, I close my eyes and take him into my mouth. I swirl my tongue around the head of his cock, tasting the slight tang of his arousal, then take him deeper into my mouth. My cheeks hollow, and I moan feeling his length on my tongue.

“That's it, Skylar. Take it nice and deep.” His fingers tighten in my hair as his thick shaft works its way down my throat.

His words send a thrill of arousal through me and I feel a surge of dampness between my legs. I want to devour him, to show him just how much I crave his pleasure.

“Just like that, baby girl,” he breathes out, his hips subtly rocking in time with the rhythm I've established. “You're doing so fucking well.”

Garrett's body is a taut bowstring beneath me, his voice a hoarse whisper as he guides me with increasingly urgent commands.

“Fuck yeah, that's it,” he groans, thrusting deeper into my mouth. “Stretched.”

Garrett's thumb brushes my chin, tilting my face up to his. “Suck it like you mean it, baby girl. Show me how much you love pleasing Daddy.”

I lose myself in the act, focused solely on his pleasure, on the way his body responds to my touch. I can feel the tension building in him, his muscles coiling, his breath coming in ragged gasps.

“Fuck, Skylar,” he groans, his hips lifting slightly, seeking more. “You're perfect, just like that.”

The praise spurs me on, and I take him deeper, my hands gripping his thighs for support. I can feel the power in his body, the way he's holding back, letting me control the pace. It's intoxicating, knowing that I have this effect on him, that I can bring him to the brink.

His fingers weave through my hair, gripping gently, his voice a low rumble. “Baby girl, I'm close.”

I suck harder, desperate to please him as he nears his release. He thrusts deeper and grunts with pleasure as he spills his hot load into my waiting mouth.

Later, as we lay tangled together, catching our breath, I trace lazy patterns on Garrett's chest. The city hum filters through the windows, a reminder of the world beyond our little bubble.

“You know,” I muse, “if someone had told me at my graduation party that in a few months I'd be moving in with you, I would have thought they were crazy.”

Garrett chuckles, the sound reverberating under my hand. “Life has a way of surprising us,” he says, pressing a kiss to my forehead. “Speaking of surprises, how do you feel about Paris next month? I thought we could celebrate your first successful show with a little getaway.”

My heart swells with excitement and a touch of nerves. “Paris? Really? That sounds amazing, but...” I hesitate, an old insecurity surfacing. “Are you sure you want to take that much time away from work?”

He tilts my chin up, his eyes serious. “Skylar, you are my priority now. Work will always be there, but moments with you? Those are precious.”

I smile, blinking back happy tears. “Okay then. Paris it is. Maybe I'll even convince you to pose nude beside the Eiffel Tower.”

Garrett's laugh fills the room. “Only if you promise to hang the painting next to your rainbow gnome.”

I laugh.

“I love you,” Garrett says, his voice soft and sincere. “You know that, right?”

I look up at him, my heart swelling with emotion. “I do,” I whisper. “And I love you too—more than I ever thought possible.”

The future is bright, but right now, all that matters is this—Garrett and I together, building our life one passionate moment at a time.
