Sidney
“ Y ou,” I begged as fog threatened to pull me under. My skin was so hot that I wanted to pull these itchy clothes off my body. Need pulsed between my thighs and a fresh wave of slick slid down my legs.
“You have us,” Bennett promised. “Anything we should know or avoid? Or do you want us all in every capacity?”
“Give me everything,” I begged.
“What about bites?” Maverick asked, voice low and careful, bracing himself for my answer.
We were mates. I had no doubts in my mind now. Just as Dr. Graves predicted, my body just needed my mates to start working properly. I knew now that they were mine.
“Only if you promise not to break my heart afterwards,” I said. Even though my voice was quiet, barely over a hoarse whisper, they heard.
“Never,” Taylor promised. “I’ll protect your heart with my life, sunshine.”
“And I’ll protect yours,” I promised back, a fresh tear tracking down my cheek before I gasped, back arching on the bed and cheeks flushing as another surge of heat hit me.
I had no ‘normal’ to compare this to, but it felt so intense it stole my breath and my mind.
Taylor’s scent was swirling around me, pure sunshine and summer, earthy, sweet, and fresh.
Bennett’s was a deep, rich contrast. Spicy and tart, mulled wine that made my mouth water.
Maverick’s was there, too, bergamot, vanilla, sandalwood, amber . It was masculine and intense, just like my alpha.
My alpha… that had a nice ring to it. Maybe I could get used to this
Leo stepped into the room a second later, wheeling in a cart full of supplies, from water, energy drinks, simple foods, and an entire pump bottle of lube and even heat-safe condoms if we wanted.
“Holy fuck,” Leo cursed as the door closed behind him. “Sidney.”
My name was a feral groan on his lips and he surged forward, pushing past us to drop in front of me, hands smoothing through my hair.
“Leo,” I whispered, chest warming at his smile. No one had ever looked at me with so much love and adoration. Now I had four men who were ready to tear down the town to find me. It was like I’d been refusing to notice until now. My eyes were open for the first time and I truly saw the way they watched me, protected me, wanted to love me.
And I wanted it, too.
“You smell nice,” I said on a groan. Now that he was right in front of me, his scent of citrus and cedar drowned out the others, wrapping around me in a comforting aroma that had my shoulders unknotting and body leaning closer.
“So do you, Sidney. So fucking good,” he promised, leaning closer and running his nose along my jaw. “No going back now. You’re mine. Apparently, I need to make you say it a few more times.”
“I think I understand now,” I said sheepishly.
The heat subsided again and I sighed, relaxing into the bed.
“You alright, sunshine?” Taylor asked, moving behind me so he could rub my shoulders. I groaned as he dug into the muscles, easing me into a state of pure relaxation.
“Now, I am,” I promised.
“What did the nurse say?” Maverick asked. I looked up to see him staring at Leo expectantly.
“There’s a call button for us to have them deliver food. I chose some selections so we didn’t have to do it later. Water will be delivered to the door twice a day and they’ll have a beta collect any trash we have once a day along with replenishing anything we need,” Leo summarized.
“Dang, that’s kind of nice,” Taylor joked. “Room service during heat is kind of nice.”
“Being in a nest at home has to be better, right?” he asked, looking at both of us.
I shrugged, making him freeze. “I wouldn’t know. I’ve never had one.”
“What?” Taylor asked, horrified.
“Dad wasn’t the kind to give me extra things like that. Money was tight and he would do anything to pretend I wasn’t an omega like mom. Then, when I was older, the cottage was too small for it and with my fucked up heats I convinced myself it wasn’t necessary.”
“Nests aren’t just for heats,” Bennett said as he sat down next to me. “We’ll have to set you one up. They’re an escape, a safe space when you need it, too.”
“Does the packhouse feel like home?” Leo asked with a frown. I winced, not wanting to lie to him again.
“No,” I admitted. “It feels like someone else’s home. I’m not trying to be dramatic, but nothing in there is mine, just like everywhere else I’ve stayed.”
I couldn’t meet his eyes but Leo wasn’t having it. He tapped my chin with his finger, forcing me to look up at him.
“Hey, it’s okay. I wanted the truth,” he reassured me.
“I think the same thing,” Taylor said. “Not for the same reasons, but it isn’t a cozy home yet.”
“Then we fix it,” Maverick said with a shrug. “There’re stores for that.”
“I have just the store in mind,” Bennett agreed.
“I…” My voice cut off, realizing how stupid it was going to sound when I explained it.
“Nope, no holding back, we promised,” Taylor huffed, leaning over me so I had to look up at him. “Speak, woman.”
“I recently came across this concept of dopamine decor. It’s essentially going out and buying things that make you happy, no theme in mind. Then it becomes this cozy space that feels like home. I want to try that, but not just me.”
“You want all of us to get our own versions and mix them together?” Bennett guessed, a wide smile forming on his handsome face.
It was still strange to see him dressed down. His glasses were absent and his blond hair disheveled. He stood in gym shorts and a loose tee and I didn’t think he’d ever looked so handsome.
“Exactly,” I agreed. “A bit of all of us.”
“The amount of times I didn’t buy things because I was afraid it wouldn’t look good,” Taylor said, shaking his head. “This is honestly brilliant. It’ll be just as chaotically perfect as our pack.”
He flashed me his dimples before looking at Bennett and holding out his hand. Our alpha moved closer, depositing a pile of blankets on the bed and dipping low to brush a kiss across Taylor’s lips, then mine.
I hated that I was the reason things hadn’t felt cohesive and comfortable until now. But here in this room, after everything we’d gone through, I could feel myself relaxing with them.
They were safe and felt like home to me. Maybe that was why I was so hellbent on having a bit of us all in the house.
I needed to include them in every part of my life, a constant reminder that they weren’t going anywhere.
As if my body was reacting to that thought, another wave of heat hit, a low groan echoing out in the room as my mind fogged over. Their scents intensified and from their feral growls, so did mine.
The ache between my legs pulsed, the emptiness making me whimper.
“I need you,” I said, not focusing on one of them, but demanding relief all the same.
My omega reacted, breathing them in and sitting up, reaching for them… or rather, their clothes. I needed their scents in this nest.
“She’s fully in heat now,” Taylor murmured to the others, handing me new blankets that had fallen. I snatched them greedily, tucking them away before I turned to them, a low growl echoing out as I reached to Bennett who was closest and started to tug his clothes free.
“Everyone,” Taylor urged. “She needs all of our scents.”
He was like my own personal lighthouse in the fog, keeping me anchored and safe while I drifted out to sea.
Each piece of clothing that they handed over was tucked away into perfect little spots until their scent was so heavy in the air that I finally settled.
Though, with this heat, one thing settled and another started. A whimper fell from my lips as I ripped off my own loose clothing, tossing it away and laying myself out on the mattress, legs parted and hands trailing over my heated flesh.
Curses rang out as I begged them to take me.
“Make it stop, please,” I begged. “Maverick?”
“I’m here, sweetheart,” he said, moving closer and capturing my lips. “I’m sorry it took me so long to get here, that our first time is in heat, but I’ll spend the rest of our lives together making up for it.”
“Mine,” I growled, in full cavewoman mode now. My fingers trailed down miles of hard muscles until I reached the monster he was hiding all this time. My fingers barely fit around him.
He let out a low, needy groan as I squeezed him once before running my hand over him, pumping him and testing out the weight of him in my hand.
My heat had his knot already half-inflated and I wondered if he would even fit. Right now, I couldn’t care. He could rip me apart to have me, as long as it meant he gave me his knot.
Maverick treated me like I was fragile, his kisses gentle, his hands reverent as they slowly trailed over every inch of my skin.
Despite how much more I wanted, I couldn’t help but sink into the fog, relishing how fucking good it felt to have Maverick Whitaker’s hands, finally on me.
I reached for him, pulling him down and kissing him with every ounce of need in me. Maverick growled in response, nipping at my bottom lip before pulling away.
“You need more, sweetheart?”
“Yes, alpha,” I breathed out, eyelids fluttering as his hand trailed lower and lower until teasing over my slick pussy. “Give me your knot. Please, alpha.”
“Fuck, sweetheart, you can’t beg like that and expect me to keep control,” he groaned, moving down my body, a trial of hot, teasing kisses lighting me on fire on his descent.
My head fell to the side, eyes locking on Leo. I reached out and he didn’t hesitate to step forward, my hand wrapping around his length, stroking him as slowly as Maverick was torturing me.
It would be a frenzy later, hard, rough, and intense enough I’d barely remember half of it.
For now, I was happy to savor them all as I sank down into sweet, heat-laced bliss.
Taylor moved to my other side, leaning down and placing a kiss on my lips before trailing his tongue down my neck and over my chest before capturing my peaked nipple into his mouth.
The sensation of Maverick’s tongue finally finding my heat, flicking over my clit while Taylor sucked hard on my nipple, had another wave of heat hitting. My mind blanked and all I could focus on was the intense need coursing through me.
“More,” I begged, eyes searching out the final member of my pack. Bennett smiled down at me, moving next to Taylor. I wrapped my hand around him, letting my eyes close as I stroked two of my men, while the other two brought me to a place I never knew I could reach.
Until this moment it felt like I had been drifting, and they were anchoring me back to earth. Each of my mates needed me in a way that I needed them, a mutual desire that calmed those fears.
My first orgasm came on so quickly, my brain was too unfocused to realize, flipping from sensation to sensation, until every muscle in my body tensed and I came hard on Maverick’s fingers, his tongue lapping greedily at every drop of slick I gave him.
“Fuck, you taste amazing,” he groaned as he gave me one final teasing swipe of his tongue before shifting to his knees. “Now I’m going to give you what you want, omega. Are you ready for me?”
The heaviness in his words meant more than just sex. He wasn’t going to simply give me his knot, he was going to claim me, make me his.
Forever.
“Bite me, Maverick.”
His body tensed, as if he was holding himself back from slamming inside of me. Instead, he notched himself at my entrance and pushed forward as slowly as he could. Each excruciatingly amazing inch had me sinking deeper and deeper into the fog, the stretch of my body as I accommodated my alpha the only thing keeping me from floating away in the tide.
My nails raked down his chest, my hips bucking against him. I no longer had words, only sounds, growling and urging him to take me.
Then Maverick moved, pulling away then slamming home again, shifting his hips just right so his knot swelled against my inner walls, hitting the sensitive spot that had me screaming against the overwhelming pleasure.
“You’re taking me so well, sweetheart,” he praised me, voice full of gravel and lust.
“I love you, Maverick Whitaker,” I choked out as another orgasm shook through me, tearing at my senses and leaving me clinging to him like I couldn't let go.
“I love you, Sidney Vance. You’re mine,” he promised before his teeth sank into my left shoulder, the pain overshadowed by the love pouring in through the bond.
I was seeing myself through his eyes. My strength, my beauty, my very soul that he had admired for years.
I’d never felt so worthy before.
“Now you know how perfect you are,” he whispered, soothing the bite before pressing his lips to mine.
I broke the kiss, leaning over to his shoulder and sinking my own teeth in, the bond snapping even tighter as I sent my own feelings back to him. I felt Maverick’s breath shudder for a moment, the impact of it making him freeze.
Then he spoke the words that I finally let burn themselves on my brain so I could never ignore them again.
“I always knew you were mine.”
