Grace—
Christmas morning has come and gone, and the room is covered in discarded wrapping paper. The girls loved their presents, and after having gotten up at the crack of dawn and eating chocolate out of their stockings, they’ve fallen into a sugar-induced crash, both snoozing on the floor while watching The Polar Express.
I’m cuddled against Lucky on the sofa when he puts his finger to his mouth.
“Shh.”
Then he swoops me into his arms and carries me to the bedroom, coming down on top of me on the big bed.
I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.
He grins. “I love my bracelet, by the way.”
“Do you? I’m glad.”
“My three favorite women. I’ll carry you with me always.”
“I love you, Lucky.”
“I love you, too, Grace.” He dips his head to kiss me, then plays with my hair. “So, how big a wedding do you want?”
I bite my lower lip. “I was thinking maybe something small, maybe out on the dock at sunset.”
He chuckles. “Don’t think the girls are going to let you get away with anything small.”
“Then we’ll have to make it up to them,” I say.
“Hmm. I may have an idea about how to do that.”
“You do? What is it?” I brush a stray lock of hair off his face and cup his cheek, my thumb stroking his lips.
He nips at my thumb. “I was thinking that if we don’t blow the bank on the wedding, we could take them on a trip.”
“I like that idea. Where do you want to go?”
“How about we take them to the happiest place on earth?”
I immediately tear up. “Aw, baby. Really?”
“You bet.”
“I’d like that very much. I’d love to show them all the magic.”
“It’s settled, then.” He kisses me again. “One condition, though. We get a suite big enough we can have our own bedroom.”
I giggle. “Absolutely. I love you, Lucky.
“Right back ‘atcha, sweetheart. You know life is kind of like that movie the kids were watching. You’ve just got to be brave enough to get on the train. I’m glad you were brave enough to get on this train, babe. I can’t promise you riches and wealth, but I can promise you it’s gonna be one hell of a ride.”
“As long as that ride is with you, I’m all in. Thanks for giving me the best Christmas ever, baby.”
“It’s not over yet, sweetheart. You didn’t get your treat yet.” He gives me a wicked grin and slides down my body.
I smile, knowing he’s about to deliver, because if I’ve learned anything, it’s that Lucky is always a man of his word.
Thank you for reading The Biker Needs a Nanny. I hope you enjoyed it.
