KAI

A fter I fucked Haven in the shower…and again as she was getting dressed, I drove her home, wearing my clothes. I didn’t want to, but I needed to check in with the guys. I entered my room, and there on my bed lay a very naked Maddie.

“Hi, baby.”

“Maddie, what the hell are you doing?”

“What does it look like I’m doing?” she asked with her sing-song voice.

It was cringy.

But then again, this was my fault. I had fucked Maddie and given her hope that she might be future wife material, even though I knew she didn’t stand a chance to become my queen. However, when I’m with a woman, I make them feel like they are a prized possession worthy of being worshiped, with no actual intent of worshiping them. When push comes to shove, my intentions are to get my dick wet and call it a day.

Until Haven.

Even now, I can smell her on me, the sweet smell of her cum and maple syrup clinging to my skin.

With thoughts of Haven, I decided to be honest with Maddie.

“Look, Maddie. I know that you were one of my choices for The Hunt, and I know that I led you on and made you believe I was attracted to you, but I’m not, actually.”

“You don’t mean that,” she protested. “You fucked me in front of everyone at the party.”

“I know,” I responded flatly.

At this point, she was no longer spread-eagle on the bed. She was now storming toward me.

Oh boy.

I braced myself for the onslaught of anger and disappointment that was about to be unleashed upon me. Maddie's face was red, and her eyes were blazing with fury. Her fists clenched at her sides—she was clearly about to let loose with everything she held back.

"You fucking liar!" she spat at me. "You led me on and used me for your pleasure, and now you're telling me you don't feel anything for me? I can't believe how deceitful you've been!"

I felt a pang of guilt, but I knew I had to be honest with her, even if it would hurt her.

"Maddie, please, just hear me out," I said, trying to calm her down. "I didn't set out to hurt you or lead you on. I just never intended to become serious with anyone. This,” I gestured between us, “ this was just a fling. The Hunt, the sex, it’s all just for fun because one day, we will be corporate stiffs working in the concrete jungle. You were just something to distract me. That’s all.”

“Oh, is it? Is that what it is for Archer and Mila too?”

“I can’t speak on what it is for anyone else. You know better.”

“That’s right, bros over hoes, right? Guy code? Well, loverboy, I suggest you get your shit together because I know things that would destroy your little Brotherhood.”

“You don’t know shit. You only know what we allow you to know, and trust me, little girl, we make things disappear all the time. So go ahead, flex your muscles and cross us.”

“Is that a threat?” she sneered at me, her eyes furrowed in disbelief.

I shrugged nonchalantly. “It’s not a threat. It’s a promise. Do with that what you will.”

“We’ll see about that,” Maddie spat back at me. She turned on her heels and stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her.

As I heard the echo of the door slamming, I felt a sense of unease creeping up on me. Maddie was a wild card, and while I didn’t believe she had much to go on, she still knew what went on during The Hunt. If she wanted to create chaos, she had the power to do so. But there was something else that didn’t sit right with me. I couldn’t place my finger on it, but Maddie might be up to something.

I spent the rest of the night combing through security footage of Maddie’s comings and goings on the property but ended up with nothing. Other than Maddie texting all the time, she didn’t do anything suspicious. Maybe my concerns were unfounded, but it still didn’t ease my paranoid feelings. However, I watched in real-time as Archer chased Mila through the manor and into the garden maze where the mausoleum was. The mausoleum is where we held our binding ceremonies if we knew that the girl we were with was wife material, which led me to walk right into Archer’s office bright and early the next morning.

“You and Mila gave quite the show on the cameras last night,” I said when I barged right in.

“What did you see?” he asked, his eyes angry and accusatory.

“I just so happened to see a very frightened Mila running through the halls and then your naked ass following her, dick swinging in all its glory, heading toward the maze. So, of course, I followed and watched her running through it and to the mausoleum. Judging by the blood on your dick when you came in, I’m assuming you entered the forbidden back door.”

Archer studied me for a moment. “Even if I did, it’s none of your business,” he snapped.

I chuckled and leaned against the edge of his desk, crossing my arms over my chest. “Don’t get your panties in a twist. I’m just teasing you. Besides, it’s not like you’re the first one to fuck someone in front of the mausoleum.” I paused, dramatically scratching my chin. “Actually, you probably are. But now you’ve given me an idea.”

“I’m sure Maddie would love that,” he scoffed. “Speaking of Maddie, how are things going?”

Okay, he didn’t know anything about Haven. Was now the best time to tell him? I’m not proud of what I did next, but I did it to protect Haven. I wasn’t sure what we were yet, but I knew the minute Archer found out, there was a good chance he would shoot me in the skull for being so reckless. He wouldn’t listen to me if I argued that she wasn’t like her family—that she was a victim of their cruelty.

So, I lied.

“Good. She’s a hellcat, and my dick is raw, but I can’t complain.”

“That’s a good problem to have.”

“Yeah, well, someone’s gotta keep things interesting around here.”

“Hmph,” he shifted in his seat but stayed silent.

“Is Mila ready for The Ceremony this weekend?”

“I haven’t told her about it yet,” he mumbled, looking at something on his computer screen.

“She needs to be prepared. This is a big commitment. And somehow, I don’t think Mila is the obedient, submissive type,” I leaned in, my voice turning to a whisper. “Have you told her how we will share her?”

“I haven’t,” he growled.

“But you will?”

“I don’t share,” he responded in a matter-of-fact tone.

“The Ceremony requires it. You know this.”

“Fuck The Ceremony. She’s mine and only mine,” he glared at me, gripping his chair's armrest.

He was serious about Mila. I had never seen him become so possessive over pussy since I’d known him. I was beginning to understand how he felt. I don’t know if I could share Haven, but I knew what The Ceremony required. Torn between love and duty. That’s not a decision I wanted to have to make.

“Look, man, I’ve seen the way you look at her, the way you touch her, the way you possess her in your mind. I think the mighty Archer King has finally met his match. While I would love to have a taste of that sweet pussy, if she’s the one, I think we can bend the rules this once, even if The Ceremony calls for us to share everything. At the same time, I saw what she did to that dumb redheaded slut to be with you. I don’t want Mila to bite my dick off if she is forced to do something she doesn’t want to do,” I let out a low laugh, shaking my head to ease the tension in the room.

“I know,” he sighed, rubbing his temples. “What do you propose?”

“Well, Archer King,” I began, grinning widely, “I propose we give Mila the choice. After all, it’s her vagina. For your sake, you better hope she says no because if she gets a taste of what Theo and I have to offer, we may not be able to keep her off us. She’ll follow us with her mouth open, begging for a taste of our baby gravy.”

I stood up, stretching my arms above my head. “Anyway, our daddies want us presentable for The Carnival of Love Charity Event tonight. It might be a good time to make an appearance with your lady since her daddy is on our hit list.”

“Yeah,” he released a loud breath of air. “Have the men plan on doubling up security. I don’t want any surprises while we are there. With that shady fucker and his friends, you never know who else might be there planning to cause a scene.”

“You think The Collectors would be stupid enough to show their faces?”

“After we hit their warehouse, I’m not taking any chances. Her father’s a coward. I wouldn’t put anything past him. He would flaunt his power in front of us to see if we would break our agreement. And I’m not putting Mila in danger because of it.”

I nodded, understanding how serious the situations we always seemed to find ourselves in were. I was loyal to Archer despite keeping Haven a secret. He would be my king when his father stepped down, and if he asked me about her, I wouldn’t lie. It’s just that right now, I wanted to protect whatever this was between Haven and me. It just felt right. And if it wasn’t, at least I could get information from her that would help us bring her brother and her disgusting family down once and for all.

I left him there, deep in his thoughts, and prepared to make arrangements for tonight’s extravaganza, which I hoped was uneventful.
