I ’m on my feet before the pulsing of the pack bond truly registers.

Please, God, not again.

My breath ripples out of me with a shudder.

Keep it together.

I run into my marketing director, Emma, on my way out. She stops me, her face pale. “Wild. You’re going after Zeke?”

I shake my head, trying to stave off the tension in my muscles. “Why?”

She hesitates. Emma’s seen me lose my shit before. She phrases her words carefully. “It… you should go home. Now. Don’t speak to anyone on the way apart from Pack. Everyone’s okay.”

“Thanks.” I duck past her, pulling my phone from my pocket.

Fox answers on the first ring. He sounds out of breath. “I’m on my way home.”

“Why?” I snap. “What the hell happened?”

When he doesn’t say anything, my tension shoots up. My voice deepens. “ Tell me .”

“Fallon,” Fox breathes. “She’s okay, Wild. She’s not very well. Zeke called the doctor, and we’re on our way back now.”

But I’m already running.
