CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

SIN

“YOU NEVER CALLED me back today.” Amelia arches a brow.

“Been busy.”

She plops down beside me, and I scoot over to put some space between us. Honestly, if Elli sees this, I expect a beer bottle to go flying toward my head. The thought makes me smile. I like it when she’s in a mood. It’ll just make what I have planned on doing to her later when we get home even better. I love when she makes me take it.

“You’re wasting your time with her.”

Her words get my attention and I turn my head to face her but say nothing.

My silence just aggravates her even more. “She’s not good for you.” Her hand falls on my inner thigh and she leans over to place her lips by my ear. The new position giving me a direct line of sight to the bar.

I see the back of Elli standing there with a drink in her hand. My teeth clench when I see the guy next to her, his hand on her lower back, at the top of her ass. They’re laughing. He pulls away, reaches into his pocket, and pulls out something. She opens her fist, and he drops it in. Then she turns around and takes the shot that the bartender sets down in front of her.

“Let’s get out of here. Go to my place. I want you to tie me to my bed this time and fuck me.” I hear words being spoken in my ear, but I can’t acknowledge Amelia. Or look away from my little demon letting another man put his hands all over her.

What in the fuck does she think she’s doing?

A hand gets my attention and I realize that Amelia’s practically sitting on top of me. Her hands rubbing my cock. I’m not even hard. And she’s licking my ear.

Reaching down, I grab her wrists. She whimpers, trying to pull back, but my free hand grips her chin, holding it in place. “Touch me again and I’ll break your fucking hand. Do you understand?”

“Sin.” She gasps. “You’re hurting me.”

To further my point, I tighten my grip and she screams. But we’re in a fucking club, no one is even looking back over at us.

“Sin…” She sniffs, adjusting in her seat. “I’m serious.” Tears fill her eyes.

“I’m fucking serious,” I growl through gritted teeth. “When I want you again, I’ll call you.” Then I shove her out of the booth and onto her ass.

A few girls try to help her up, but she pushes them away and runs off crying.

I get out of the booth and make my way to the bar, wondering what in the fuck Elli thinks she’s doing.

Coming up to the bar, I look around and don’t see her, but I do see the guy she was talking to. I recognize him. His brother plays football at Barrington. “What’s up, Marcus?” I get his attention.

“Sin, what’s up, man?” He gives me the handshake half hug and slaps my back a few times. “What’s going on?”

“Not much.” I gesture to the bartender for a shot, because that’s what any guy would do at the club, and look around for her again. Still nothing. Where the fuck did she go? “Here with anyone tonight?” I dig, not wasting any time.

He throws his head back laughing. “Never come with pussy, Sin. You know that. Gotta keep your options open so you can choose which one you want.”

I nod in agreement like I fucking understand that. It’s not like I’ve been clubbing for years taking home random pussy. “Any prospects?” I go on.

“Yeah. We’re about to leave.” He throws back his shot.

My heart picks up. Is she really going to leave with him? This has to be a joke, right? We fucking live together. “Do I know her?”

He slams the now empty shot glass down. “Doubtful.” His eyes drop to the skull ring on my hand that signifies I’m a Lord. We all wear them while attending Barrington. Well, those that know we exist. There have been rumors going around for years about who we are and what we do. “She’s a nobody.”

My teeth clench at his words. She’s fucking mine.

He looks down at his phone and sighs, putting it away.

“What’s up?” I nod to it. Maybe she skipped out and texted him that she couldn’t meet up tonight.

“Had a friend who was going to join us. Guess he found someone else.”

“So you and a friend were going to take this woman home?”

His eyes meet mine and he smirks. “We wanted to surprise her, if you know what I mean.”

Yeah, I do. He’s going to leave with my little demon and share her with his friend. I want to slit his throat right fucking here in front of everyone. But where would that get me? “That’s a gamble,” I add. “The last thing you need is a rape charge come Monday morning.” He knows she’s drunk and on drugs. Drugs that he gave her. Her going to the cops won’t do her any good after they’re done with her. Sure, she might have bruises on her, but they could say she liked it rough. There’s always a way around it.

Throwing his head back, he laughs, his Adam’s apple bobbing. “You have to know the right one to pick, man. This girl…” He slaps my arm excitedly. “She’s so fucking easy. Been fucking her professor.”

It takes everything in me to keep my face blank. How the fuck does he know that?

“She won’t say shit to anyone. And if she did … no one will believe her.” His eyes drop to my skull ring again as I twirl it around my finger, trying to keep my composure when I want to fucking explode. “How about you? Want a piece?”

He wants me because of my Lord status. The cops can’t touch us. We’ve got Lords on the inside in uniform. Any time one of us does something illegally, it’s not swept under the rug. It’s completely shredded. “Yeah. I’m free.” I’ll teach them both a lesson they won’t forget.

ELLINGTON

I EXIT THE bathroom once again to find Marcus standing ready and waiting. I let him grab my hand and as he walks me through the club, I glance over at where we were all sitting and it’s full now with people I don’t know.

Sin took her home with him. It makes this decision even easier. Fuck him and his fucking lies. It’s over. Whatever it was, I’m done. He can have his chosen. And I’ll have whoever I want.

Walking outside, I get into Marcus’s car. Thankfully, he turns the radio up, so we don’t have to talk. There’s nothing to say.

I need to calm my nerves. My entire body is vibrating with betrayal that I feel from Sin. It’s not just the sex but that he also told Amelia about James and Lincoln. She’s got a big mouth. She’ll go and tell everyone.

Good thing I don’t give a shit what people think. Not like anyone would believe the truth anyway. If my mom didn’t, no one will.

He brings the car to a stop, and I see we’re at a log cabin. “Your house?” I ask. Marcus isn’t from here. His family lives in California. Kids come from all around the world to go to Barrington. It’s for the elite. Doesn’t matter about your grades, all your parents have to do is pay a significant fee each year and you’re in.

“Yeah.” He unlocks the front door and holds it open for me.

I follow him into the open kitchen, and he grabs a bottle of vodka. “Drink?”

“Please.” Fuck, yes. Give me the entire fucking bottle and I’ll just drown myself in it.

He pulls out two shot glasses and fills them to the brim.

I take it from him and toss it back, hissing in a breath. He comes to stand behind me. His hands on my thighs. I feel him push up my skirt.

I reach out and grab the empty shot glass I set down and fill it again. By the time I toss it back, his hand is between my legs. I throw the glass to the floor and hear it break. Lifting the bottle, I take a swig when he pulls my underwear to the side.

Tears sting my eyes but I refuse to let them fall. I will not let Sin hurt me. I will not give him that kind of power. He made his choice, and it wasn’t me.

Taking another drink, his finger slips inside my pussy and I whimper. Guilt tightening my chest. Why? He was cheating on me. Fucking someone else. Then came home to the house he said he bought for us.

After he was finished making me come on the formal dining room table that day, we signed papers. He had everything there and ready for us to make it our home. It took hours to go through, to finalize, but it’s ours.

So why do I feel guilty? He’s the one living two lives.

“You’re so wet.” Marcus pulls his finger out and pushes it back in.

“I … I don’t think—”

“Shut the fuck up.” He slaps my ass, and a cry leaves my numbing lips.

My hands grip the vodka bottle tighter, and I close my eyes. I hate that I want Sin right now. That my body can feel the difference. He’s been getting me off for two years. He knows it better than I know myself.

Thoughts of him and Amelia enter my mind and I bite my tongue to keep a sob in. I imagine him and her in our bed. Her tied there while he gives her what I want.

Marcus pulls his finger out and then his hands run up my back, he grips my hair at the scalp. Pulling me to stand, he spins me around. His free hand grips my chin painfully, his face in front of mine.

I stare into his green eyes, and he smiles at the tears in mine. “Crying already, baby?”

I flinch at the pet name.

“I haven’t even started yet.” Then he presses his lips to mine.

I don’t kiss him back and his tongue shoves its way between my lips. He tastes like cheap beer. My arms stay at my sides while he holds me in place by my face and hair. I’m numb, my heart shattered. I’ve never known pain like this. It’s as if someone has stabbed me and I’m bleeding to death. I can feel my life slipping away. I pray the alcohol takes it all away soon.

When he pulls back, I’m sucking in a deep breath. He spins me around, shoves me over the counter, and kicks my legs open with his shoes.

“I hope you like it rough.” Letting go of my hair, he brings my hands behind my back, and before I realize what he’s doing, I feel handcuffs tighten on my wrists.

I kick my legs out and go to scream but he lays his body on top of mine, pinning me down onto the counter, his body weight taking my air away. “Because we’re going to fucking use this body as it was intended for.”

We’re? “We?” I manage to rush out as fear grips my chest.

His weight is lifted from my back and he grips my hair, yanking me to stand. “What do you think?”

I frown, confused by the question, but he spins me around and my legs threaten to buckle at what I see.

Sin leans against the entrance to the kitchen. Arms crossed over his chest and eyes on mine. My heart is in my throat. The blood rushing in my ears is all I hear.

He pushes off and takes a step toward us. I go to run but Marcus wraps an arm around my neck, tight enough that I can’t breathe.

Sin comes to stand before me. His hand runs down my breasts over my shirt, and I fight the hold Marcus has on me.

Reaching into his pocket, Sin pulls out his pocketknife. He pops it open and slices down my shirt. My chest heaves when his fingers lightly run over my ribs and pull down my skirt. It falls to the floor.

When his cold eyes meet mine, he finally answers, “She’ll do.”
