Chapter Eight

Molly didn’t know what to say or do. For several seconds she was speechless as she just stared at him. He lifted up, cupping her cheek, and she stared into his eyes, knowing with all certainty that he was telling the truth. She didn’t know how she knew this, just that she did.

“You’re not lying,” she said, not intending to blurt the words out.

“I won’t lie to you, Molly. I have no reason to, and I would never jeopardize my life with you.” He leaned in close and took possession of her lips.

This felt different. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but there was something a little different with the kiss. She closed her eyes and allowed herself to let go, giving in to the kiss, as she put her hands on his chest, and then pressed him back toward the bed.

Molly worked on instinct. She threw her leg across him, moving to seat herself against his naked cock, feeling him against her exposed pussy. In that moment, she had completely forgotten they were naked. Jerking back and breaking the kiss, she stared down at him, a little stunned. She didn’t know what to say, as she felt the pleasure of him merely touching her bare pussy.

“What is it? What’s the matter?” he asked.

There were no words, nothing she could say. It was the strangest feeling, but as she leaned down, she kissed his lips a single time before trailing them back toward his ear.

“I’m ready.”

Molly had never been sure of anything in her life, even when writing her books and getting them ready for submission. Each step she had doubts, questioned what she was doing. Even the purchase of this place after her parents’ passing. Every decision she made in her life always came with a series of doubts, but straddling Nate Sinclair’s body, hearing the words he spoke to her just moments ago, there was not a single doubt. She knew she wanted to feel him inside her, to be with him.

There was no fear. Just absolute certainty.

“You’re sure?” he asked.

She nodded. “Yeah, I’m sure.”

Within seconds, she let out a little scream as Nate changed their positions and this time, she was the one on the bed, only her legs were spread as he moved between them.

“Thank you,” he said.

Molly expected him to just take her. To thrust his cock deep inside her and claim her virginity, but instead he moved in real close, so they were body to body. His hands moved to either side of her head, and at first, all he did was kiss her.

His kisses always drove her crazy, and these were no exception as she melted against him, and didn’t want to let go. With one kiss came a second, and when he broke away from her lips, she felt the sensations moving up her body, heightening her own need.

Her pussy was already soaking wet, but Nate wasn’t done with his tormenting as he trailed his lips down to her neck, sucking on the pulse. Again, he still wasn’t done, as he went toward her breasts.

Molly figured he would go right past her breasts, but then he suddenly stopped, and his hands were there, pushing them together. She looked at him, and the expression on his face made her gasp. He looked like a man in pain, who couldn’t decide which one to pick. Any other time, this might have seemed funny, but this was different to her.

With them pressed together, she gasped as he closed the distance and his lips encircled her left nipple. His tongue swirled around the tip, but he didn’t stop with just one breast, but quickly moved on to the other. She moaned his name as the pleasure seemed to shoot right through her core, going straight toward her pussy.

Nate divided his attention between both breasts, and all she could do was moan his name and enjoy every second of the pleasure he gave her. Again, he wasn’t done with her yet, as he began to kiss down her body.

There was no way she was going to fight him. He kissed all the way down her stomach, and when he got to the apex of her thighs, she couldn’t help but hold her breath. The tips of his fingers brushed across the fine hairs on her pussy, as he spread her lips apart.

Molly was about to ask him what he was doing, but then his tongue delved between her slit, and she should have known. The pleasure was intense, his tongue magical.

He circled her clit, and then slid down going toward her entrance, but he stopped and went right back up toward her nub.

His tongue danced back and forth across her clit, making her moan and gasp, screaming his name, feeling her orgasm taking over. Nate didn’t stop, and when he sent her spiraling over the edge, Molly knew she had gone to Heaven. It was incredible.

He made sure she had every ounce of pleasure, milking her orgasm for every single drop, and when she finally came down, she opened her eyes and stared at him, a little amazed.

“Are you sure?” he asked, moving into position above her.

She had never been surer of anything than she was right now.

Several Days Later

Nate was not hiding at his shop.

There were a lot of cars that needed fixing, not just the ones that had an appointment for the basic tune-up, but also the cars that were dropped off without a moment’s notice. He’d told everyone he had a busy work schedule but that didn’t seem to bother them. Still, this was being busy, not hiding. Or avoiding a certain brown-haired beauty that drove him crazy. But right now, he didn’t think he could face her.

He was no coward. Only, that scream would stay with him forever.

He’d never taken a woman’s virginity before, and Molly, well, he knew he’d hurt her, and then she had begged him to finish.

Nate knew he wasn’t a good person. There was a lot of stuff he’d done in his life that was fucked up, but after that, he just couldn’t bring himself to face her, so, while she’d gone to the bathroom, he’d left. He was such a fucking fuckup, there was no other way to say the truth.

Molly deserved better than him, and yet he couldn’t even handle the thought of another man touching her. He got this primal feeling where he just wanted to keep her to himself. Gripping the back of his neck, he wanted to scream because he had royally fucked up.

“Well, hello there, stranger.”

He opened his eyes to see Rachael Carter coming toward him. She wore a small miniskirt that hit about mid-thigh, and the shirt she wore was like a second skin, and she wasn’t even trying to hide the fact she wasn’t wearing a bra. There was no point as everyone could see clearly that she was naked.

He kept his gaze on her face. Just because he had messed up with Molly didn’t mean he wanted a taste of this woman.

“Ms. Carter,” he said, trying to be polite. Randy handled all things to do with Rachael. Nate didn’t like her constant flirtation, and now was no exception.

“Oh, please, Nate. You and I both know you can call me Rachael.”

“Is there anything you need?” he asked, purposefully glancing behind her to look at her vehicle. “Randy assured me your car is in tip-top shape. No strange noises, nothing.” In fact, his friend even believed she had gone to a different mechanic to have it cleaned up.

Rachael wasn’t interested in his business. He knew exactly what she wanted, and there was no way he was giving it to her.

“My car is working fine,” she said, coming to lean against the current car he was standing in front of. Her hand went to her thigh, but he didn’t look down. She nibbled her lip. “You know, I’ve heard the rumor about you and a certain … frumpy librarian.”

He didn’t know why she was thinking Molly was a librarian.

“Look, Ms. Carter, I don’t have time for games or gossip. The rumor about me and Molly Embers is correct. She’s mine. I’m dating her,” he said, turning his back on her.

He was not even going to attempt to be polite, or pretend he didn’t know what Rachael was up to.

“You see, I don’t get that. I don’t get how you can be with someone like that?” Rachael said.

“Like what?” Now he was getting pissed off at the insults being thrown at his woman.

“She’s so boring for you and I know she is nothing more than a stick in the mud, and trust me, you can do so much better than her,” Rachael said.

He was about to yell, and he knew Rachael wouldn’t like it, but he didn’t give a fuck.

“Am I interrupting anything?” Molly asked.

Hearing her voice was the sweetest sound, and in that moment Nate forgot he had fucked up. Closing the distance between them, he cupped her face, tilted her head back, and took possession of her mouth in a searing kiss.

“I’ve missed you,” he said, breaking the kiss. He ran his hands across the back of her neck, pulling her in against him. “Rachael was just leaving.”

The other woman looked like she wanted to commit murder.

“Hi, Rachael, bye, Rachael,” Molly said with a smile.

He wondered if she would say or do anything, but then she gritted her teeth and stormed to her car.

Nate kept hold of Molly. “Thank you,” he said.

“Was she trying to … seduce you?”

He pulled Molly into his arms. “She’s attempting to, but trust me, I have absolutely no interest in her.” Pressing his face against her neck, he breathed her in, enjoying her soft, floral fragrance. She smelled amazing.

Pulling away, he looked into her pretty eyes, and the guilt flooded him. “I’m so sorry.”

“Maybe we could talk in your office?” Molly asked.

He nodded. “Let me close up first.”

It was the end of the day, and he didn’t want any last-minute customers dropping in. He went to the gate, closed it, secured the bolt, and then walked back to Molly. He placed a hand at her back, and they walked together into the main office. He closed the door.

The heat wave had already started to disappear, and there was a chill to the air. It was why Rachael’s dress sense confused him. It was cold outside, but she was dressed in barely nothing. Pushing the other woman out of his mind, he focused on Molly, on his woman.

Molly glanced around his office and then turned toward him. He saw her cheeks were a beautiful shade of red.

“So, uh, how have you been?” she asked.

“Shit, Molly, you don’t have to—”

“I do, because I have been trying to call you, and every time Randy has picked up, he has a new excuse for you, and I get it. You don’t want to talk to me, but … what did I do wrong?”

He hated this. Hated what he’d done.

Running a hand down his face, he leaned back against his desk and reached out to grab her hands. He expected her to pull away, but then she stepped toward him, and he knew he didn’t deserve it. He had nearly fucked this up big time.

“I … no, you didn’t do anything wrong, Molly. I … freaked out.”

Her eyes went wide. “You freaked out? Nate Sinclair freaked out?”

“It wasn’t my intention. I, uh, I don’t know. I wanted to make it so good for you, and I can’t get that scream out of my head. I didn’t want to hurt you, and I totally fucked this up. I saw the blood on the bed, and I … I…” He was no coward, but he didn’t know how he could face her. “You’re the last person in the world I would ever want to hurt.”

She pulled her hands out of his and stepped toward him. “Then you owe me,” she said.

“What?”

“You heard me. Unless you tell me right here, right now, that you don’t want to be with me, and everything you have just said is a load of bullshit, then you owe me, and you owe me big.”

“You’re not pissed at me?”

Molly shrugged. “I was. I mean, I was hurt, and I did cry. The first guy I had sex with freaked out and ran away. It’s not exactly good for morale.”

“Fuck, I am so sorry.”

“Stop. You don’t need to be sorry. You don’t need to be anything.” She pressed a kiss to his lips. “I don’t know what it is we’re doing, but I know I love being around you. If you still want me to be.”

Nate didn’t know how he had gotten a second chance. He hadn’t been hiding, but he sure as shit hadn’t been doing anything to break this silence between them. He did tell Randy that if Molly called, then no matter what, he was busy, or he’d just popped out.

Standing up, he cupped her cheek and then kissed her hard, knowing he was never going to get a second chance again.
