CHAPTER 14
Kirill
Dom has hold of the muzzle and is trying to wrestle it away from Rory. They wrench it left and right, but it looks like Rory is winning.
I can’t let that happen.
I race over, not caring if I end up getting shot, and snatch the gun away from both of them. Then I take a couple of steps back and aim it at Rory. My entire body is trembling with rage. I’m furious that someone has put us in this position, and that these assholes have seen our Duchess come. That’s for our eyes only.
It’s as though I’ve been transported back to a moment in our past, like time has ripped open and dropped us back there. The man I’m aiming the gun at has taken on the shape of someone else in my mind. Back then, I’d walked away and let someone else take care of the dirty work, but not this time.
No fucking way.
“Back away from him, you two.” My voice is strange as I give the order to Dom and Mackenzie.
I’m seeing red. There is no way these two fuckers are walking out of here, and I’m going to make them hurt for what they’ve done. They’ll pay— not only for what they’ve put Mackenzie through, but also for what Tino had to do. He stepped up and protected our Duchess and put himself through something none of us will want to think or talk about again.
“Kenzie.” Tino beckons her to him. “Come here, baby.”
She does as he says, backing away from Rory.
I give her time to create space, and Dom jumps out of the way. I aim the gun and slowly exhale as I pull the trigger. The gun booms, and the recoil punches me in the shoulder. I don’t hit Rory in the face or chest. No, that would be far too good for him. I’ve shot the fucker’s tiny little cock off.
“Oh, fuck me.” Dom stares in shock.
Rory glances down at where his dick used to be then lifts his head again and lets out an ear-piercing scream.
Suddenly, Tino falls forward, landing on the floor, facedown. It takes me a moment to understand what is happening. It’s as though his back is on fire.
“No, Tino!” Mackenzie screams.
I realize what’s happening. Eric, in his still burning Santa suit, has taken him down. Tino tries to roll, but either the weight is too much or the heat is too fierce. Fuck, he’s going to burn to death along with Eric.
But then Mackenzie appears with a bucket of snow and ice, and she empties it over the top of them. When the rest of us were just standing there, staring, horrified, she acted. She probably saved Tino’s life.
Dom steps in, patting Eric down with a huge blanket, putting the rest of the flames out.
Tino crawls out from under him. “I’m okay,” he reassures us.
“Brother!” Rory cries and crawls toward a now smoldering Eric.
I can’t have that.
I swing the gun back around on him and pull the trigger a second time.
The boom of the gunshot shatters the air, and this time the bullet hits its mark right in his side, punching Rory’s guts.
I’m breathing hard and covered in blood, but I still smile. Well, he’s going to die in fucking agony .
I turn to Mackenzie. “Never again, baby. Did you see? Never again.”
“I saw, my darling,” she says. “You’re so fucking amazing.”
She turns to Dom, who is still dabbing the last of the flames out on Eric. “Turn him over so I can see his face,” she says.
Dom does as she tells him, and she bends over Eric. “Want me to sit on your lap, Santa?”
He babbles, his words incoherent, his eyes wide and terrified.
She races toward the front door and grabs the knife that Tino had answered the door with earlier. She walks back to Eric and straddles him.
“Babe, be careful,” Dom says.
She smiles down at Eric. “There you go, Santa. Got a pretty girl on your lap. You like my pussy, huh? I hope it was worth dying for.”
She raises her arms above her head and, with a primal scream, brings the knife down hard into his shoulder. His blood splatters all over her naked skin, and she wrenches the knife out and stabs him again and again.
I don’t think I’ve ever been so fucking proud of her.
