21. Chapter Nineteen

CHAPTER NINETEEN

MARCO

M orning had come. Marco didn’t know how long he had been lying on his side, looking at Rainey sleep. He could lay next to her for hours and hours, watching as her chest rose and fell. She looked so peaceful and calm.

Marco gently placed his hand on her belly. Never had he imagined finding his woman and her already being pregnant. Not that it wasn’t a welcome surprise. He’d always wanted kids, and even though this baby wasn’t his by blood, he was ready to take the father role and love the baby like it was his own.

It hadn’t even been a full week of them knowing each other, but it felt like an eternity. They just fit so well together, and he knew she was it.

“I love you,” he whispered.

Dane started to whine from behind the closed door. He had grown an attachment to Rainey just like Marco had .

Marco was glad because he could leave Dane with Rainey when he couldn’t be around. Dane was trained to detect things, and he had picked up on Rainey’s anxiety. It was amazing to see him help Rainey and calm her down.

He looked back at Rainey and slowly started to rub her belly. He wanted to do this every morning. To soak up every chance he got with her. Soon, the baby would come, and things would change. He couldn’t wait to hold the baby. It was going to be a different season of life, but one he was accepting with open arms.

Rainey cuddled into him as he wrapped his arm around her. She was a snuggle bug, but he wasn’t complaining. He loved that side of her. He wanted her close to him for every second of the day. Unrealistic, but when they were together, she wanted to be close.

“So beautiful,” he whispered.

His life had changed so much. He went from being a bachelor to finding the love of his life and becoming a father to be. It was a huge change, but he was excited to see where it went. He was going to cherish these moments.

“I can’t wait to meet you,” he whispered. “Your mom and I are super excited. I know I’m not your biological dad, but I’m going to treat you like you are my own. You’ll never want for anything; never second-guess if I actually love you as my own. You are going to be loved so much.”

“You’re going to make me cry,” Rainey whispered.

Marco looked at Rainey, who was staring at him. “I don’t want to do that.”

“You’re so sweet.”

“It was all the truth. No matter what, the baby will know they are loved.”

Rainey buried her head into his chest, and he just held her. It was a lot of information for her to process this early in the morning. He had said those things before, but maybe it was sticking this morning.

Marco didn’t know, but he wasn’t going to stop. Even if they had only known each other for several days, he was on a mission to prove to her he was her person.

Rainey whimpered, catching his attention.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

“I need to pee, but I don’t want to get up.”

“Maybe you could try out diapers. That way, you don’t have to get up,” he suggested.

He was worried about what she would think. Some Littles liked diapers, and some never wanted to see them.

“Maybe. I don’t know, but maybe.”

Marco ran his hands through her hair.

“I was thinking today could be a Daddy and Little day. What do you think?”

“I can’t think right now. I need to pee first before I can think about anything.”

He let go of her and rolled out of bed, quickly making his way over to her side and helping her.

Rainey crossed her legs and groaned. “I don’t think I can make it.”

Marco quickly picked her up, and speed-walked to the bathroom, placing her on the toilet.

“I can go to the bathroom on my own. I’m a big girl. ”

“I know you are, but Daddy is here. Daddy isn’t going anywhere. If it’s a hard limit, I will leave. You just let me know.”

She sighed and started to pee. Marco didn’t want any doors between them. It didn’t feel right; he wanted her to be comfortable around him.

“Such a good girl.”

Rainey finished going to the bathroom, and before she could grab the toilet paper, he already had it in his hand. Without protest, she let Marco wipe her. He loved taking care of her, and this was one of the ways.

He walked to the sink and washed his hands. Rainey was already back in the bed, snuggling up to his pillow.

“Are you stealing my pillow now?” he asked as he walked to the bedroom door. “Is it okay if I let Dane in?”

“Yes to both. You weren’t here, so the next best thing is your pillow. It smells exactly like you.”

He chuckled and opened the door. Dane was lying down, patiently waiting for him to open the door.

“Gentle,” Marco commanded as he stood in the doorway. “Slow.”

He got out of the way, and Dane dashed into the room.

“Slow!” he commanded again.

Dane jumped onto the bed and curled at Rainey’s feet. Marco walked back, got into bed, and held Rainey close.

“I want you naked in our bed every night.”

“I don’t know if I’ll be up for sex every night.” She nervously laughed.

“I don’t mean to have sex. I just want you naked in our bed. I want to feel your skin against mine. ”

She snuggled into him and nodded. “Okay.”

Her bump was pushing up against his stomach. Every once in a while, he felt the baby kick. Every single time, he looked down and smiled.

“Would you like to be Little today?”

“Yes. Please, Daddy.”
