Chapter 37

Chapter Thirty-Seven

EVO

I stomp into the Med bay, only to find the room dark. “ Frack LeX , where the hell are you?”

“ Stop your yelling, I am right here.”

“ Why is the room dark? Where were you earlier when I was speaking to the humans? That , by the way, told me they have not seen you as of yet.”

“ EvO , I cannot leave her unattended yet. As for the humans, there is nothing so severe that my Med bots cannot handle.”

“ The frack there isn’t. They were asking about meds and they are all still wearing the temporary translators.”

“ I will tend to that next rising, I am confident she will awaken by then.”

“ Why the frack are we talking in the dark?”

“ It’s of no concern, but I can tell you are in a rare mood, EvO . What has you so riled up?”

“ Females !”

“ That word alone answers everything does it not? This one has not even spoken and yet I am devoted to her like no other. She doesn’t even know that I am waiting for her on the other side of her dreams. She simply refuses to grace me with her presence.”

“ LeX , do you know why she is not awakening?”

“ No , that is the problem. I have reversed everything that could possibly keep her in this state and she still remains the same.”

“ Rylie .”

“ What ?”

“ That’s your female’s name. My Qwin recognized her.”

“ I see, it suits her somehow.”

“ LeX , we are getting closer to the outer rim of our solar system. Once we are back in regulated space, it may be possible for SCOUT or one of the others to help. They might know something you don’t. I wish I had someone I could reach out to for advice. My mate is torn. The humans do not feel the bond the same way we do and she is pulling away from me. I don’t know how to stop it.”

“ Have you tried talking to her about this?”

I did, she said she was needed in her world, and here she feels untethered.”

“ Then make her needed, EvO . Someone with her skills would have been a blessing when we entered the Nebula . She understands the reactions metals have with chemicals and knows how to infuse different substances used as fuel sources. If she needs to have something to do, give it to her. This is a floating laboratory, EvO . Space is ever changing and it’s crucial we keep up.”

“ You are a fracking genius, brother.” LeX’s words hit me hard, and I turn, rushing out of the room. Praying that we are close enough for me to contact SCOUT directly.

“ Where are you going?” I hear LeX yell out just as the door opens.

I don’t answer him, my mind already sorting through all the things I need to accomplish in order to keep my female with me. “ Destroyer , see if you can contact SCOUT on my personal holo. I will be in my chambers.”

I have no more walked in the room than SCOUT appears in front of me. His massive frame is enough to make many step back in fear. “ How may I be of service, Captain ?”

“ I am in need of your expertise on females.”

“ You may have summoned the wrong individual, as my SAGE always keeps me guessing.”

“ Glad to know this is not just an organic problem. However , I do believe you can help me more than any other, as to what I will need to provide my own female with the supplies required to take on a task such as this.”

“ I am intrigued, proceed.”

“ Qwin worked in a research center on Earth . She was not only studying other types of fuels, but the cause and effects of what occurs when a race consumes all their natural resources. She was trained on chemical compounds and the use of minerals. I believe she could help us form different fuel sources that would sustain us in the outer regions of space. We were practically out of fuel due to unknown circumstances in the Nebula . I think she could be a huge help in this field and I would like to build her a laboratory here on the ship. Space is forever changing and she would excel in this field.”

“ Only a smart male is one that can provide his female with more than physical satisfaction.”

“ My Qwin feels torn, she believes her place is with her people. I want to show her that it’s beside me, helping more than just her own.”

“ Her knowledge and hands-on experience could be utilized especially if connected straight to ANDI . He is the one leading this field right now. I have pushed some research off onto the others as I am needed in other areas. Commander DaR , and Kira are having ANDI loaded with supplies as we speak and will be heading towards you as soon as his cargo area is full. I also overheard DaR mention that he was going to contact you later this rising.

“ Regarding our conversation, I will have the instruments a lab would need also loaded along with detailed instructions for the Maintenance bots for their installation. My scan shows there is an open lab on level three of the Destroyer . That area would provide adequate room for all that is needed.”

“ Thank you, SCOUT . I knew you would have the answers.”

“ I have learned one important thing, Captain , when it comes to all females. It’s the little things that mean the most. I created an entire world for SAGE and myself and even though I can feel her pleasure while there. It’s nothing compared to how she reacts when I show up with a flower, or simply comm her, telling her how much I miss her. Present your female to the beauty of the unknown, but with the stableness of you being beside her the entire way.”

“ SCOUT , your words have given me much to think upon. I took for granted she would automatically feel the same way I do. I believe I have failed her in many ways because of that.”

“ Where is your female now?”

“ She wanted a moment alone.”

SCOUT’s eyes flash silver. “ I would advise against that, Captain . The female mind is dangerous when left unsupervised. They are their worst enemy when at their weakest. I will comm you when ANDI is en route. I would suggest you take this time to locate your female.”

Before I can say another word SCOUT is gone, but his words replay through my mind. “ Destroyer , I need Qwin’s location.” My comm unit instantly lightens up, showing her sitting on a lower level. Instantly , I am in the lift headed that way.
