XAVIER
I take a deep breath, trying to calm the storm brewing in my stomach as I stand backstage with Sebastian and Luna. Watching as Luna sips her ginger ale from a long straw. Her stomach is as on edge as my own. Sebastian’s hand runs a reassuring line up and down her back. Her brown eyes meet mine, panic right on the edge.
Savannah walks in right as I open my mouth.
“Alright, you three, we are about five minutes out. Do you need anything?” she asks, her gaze shifting between us. Shaking our heads in tandem, she gives one firm nod.
“I know y’all are ready but”—she takes a deep breath before continuing—“I need you to remember, no matter what questions they ask, no matter how personal or invasive it gets, don’t give them a reaction.” She narrows her eyes at Sebastian, knowing full well he would be the one out of any of us to lose his shit. “You don't owe them anything. You invited them here, not the other way around. Your relationship, your privacy, it's yours to protect.” She checks her watch one more time. “Three minutes. I’ll be back when we’re ready to go.” She exits the room quickly, while Luna and Sebastian stand to join me.
Luna takes my hand, her delicate fingers intertwining with mine. Her touch sends a shiver down my spine, feeling how perfectly our hands fit together. Sebastian stands on my other side, wrapping his arm around my waist, his presence solid and comforting.
"Before we go out there, I need you both to know..." She pauses, her gaze moving from me to Sebastian and back again. "I love you. Both of you."
My breath catches in my throat, and for a moment, I'm speechless. I've known how I felt for a while now, but hearing Luna say those words, it's like everything just falls into place.
"I love you, too, Luna," I finally manage, my voice thick with emotion. "And you, Sebastian. I loved you my whole life.”
Sebastian's smile is blinding, his eyes surprisingly bright with unshed tears. "About time," he says, his voice rough. “I love you both.”
