Chapter 27

Twenty-Seven

W hile Bastian and Grayson were angry and more cautious of Ren. Callum showed signs of sympathy for her plight.

“I need you tonight, Ren.” Callum purred into her ear when he hugged her from behind.

He tried several times to coax her into his bed and love her more gently than Grayson or Bastian would.

“I was thinking of maybe just having a relaxing bath.” She hugged him back in that awkward backwards hug way.

Ren was still hesitant after he had done nothing to stop what happened to her after her failed escape. Prior to that, he had done nothing when Bastian threw her to him and Grayson to feed on like some piece of meat.

Her trust of any of the brothers was pretty close to as low as theirs was of her. But she could see the differences between the brothers becoming more apparent, the fractures in their unity under Bastian’s leadership, beginning to surface.

“Aw, don’t be that way. I want you in my bed. I want to please you, to pleasure you.” He peppered kisses to the side of her neck and behind her ear.

“I will join you after my bath, would that be alright Cal?”

“Of course. I look forward to it.” He left her with a slap to her ass.

C onversations between the men were filled with veiled threats, towards each other, as well as her. There were accusations being thrown around. Their once harmonious dynamic was replaced by rising tension.

Though, it wasn’t her intention to drive a wedge between them, it seemed that there was a certain level of jealousy that prevented them from continuing the way they had prior to her being invited to be bonded to them.

Her blood bond meant that she could occasionally feel them within her. She could feel certain emotions and thoughts from time to time. It was hard to discern who was feeling what, so it didn’t really help her. Moreso, it just seemed to overwhelm her already shattered emotional state.

Callum, in a surprising turn of events, hinted at his support for Ren and her attempt at escape. His touch, unlike his brothers', was warm and comforting. She clung to it like a beacon of hope in her otherwise bleak existence.

Ren was cautious but intrigued by this, the prospect of an ally within her captors' ranks a welcome possibility.

Bastian was enraged by it. He could always sense more than the others through their bond and in an attempt to thwart this suspected plot, he took Ren and caged her in his own room again.

This was not like her previous cage in her bedroom with clear walls, this was her fully shackled in place, gagged and blindfolded. Cuffs around her waist, throat, wrists and ankles were lined with silver and while they didn’t burn her flesh as the sun did, it caused an irritating rash that itched ferociously. However, bound as she was, she had no means by which to scratch her flesh, and the discomfort of it was maddening.

She could hear the screams of Callum as Bastian savagely beat him. They sounded very close, though she couldn’t tell if he was actually in the room with her since she had her senses taken away from her with the gags, restraints, and blindfold.

After some time of being shackled and unfed, and not allowed to rest or sleep; she began to hallucinate.

Her body was covered with splotches with black veins emanating from the sores.

It turned out the wall she was shackled to was a revolving wall and on the other side Bastian had a dark room that the only way in or out was that wall itself.

She was spun around on it and released into that room where it was so hard to see that she couldn’t even see her nose in front of her face.

As her eyes adjusted she could make out the shape of a man emerging from the darkest shadows.

Both her and Callum were reunited.
