Lincoln
Lincoln: I’m here.
Willow: Door’s unlocked. I’m almost ready.
Lincoln: I’m good out here.
Willow: Don’t be a pussy. He’s still sleeping.
Shaking my head, I got off the bike. I had every reason to believe this was a ploy, but when she asked me for a ride to an interview, how could I say no? Willow automatically felt like a little sister to me and considering Kai was the only one with a car, I decided it couldn’t hurt to help her out.
Well, it could hurt.
When I walked through the door, I held my breath. Thankfully, it was quiet and empty. The shower was going, so apparently, ‘almost ready’ meant not at all ready. I saw that there was a pot of coffee made, so I took it upon myself to find a mug and used some of West’s white chocolate creamer. It was sickly sweet, but the sugar did wonders for the sad bitch inside of me.
Leaning against the counter, I started humming to pass the time. I’d heard that women took long showers, but I didn’t really have a frame of reference aside from my mom and grandma. I hadn’t paid attention to their showering habits because I wasn’t weird like that. Suffice it to say that the rumors were true. If I’d known, I would’ve driven around the block a few times to entertain myself.
I heard a door open and since the shower was still running, I prayed to god that it was Kai. I must’ve prayed to the wrong one because West stumbled sleepily into the kitchen.
Fuck. Why’d he look that adorable when he woke up?
He stopped when he saw me, his brow furrowing. “Is this a dream?”
“Depends. Do you dream about me?”
“If I did, you’d be less decent.”
“Hm.” Taking a drink of my coffee, I allowed myself to admire his bare torso. With all those powerful muscles, I wanted to know exactly how he’d handle me if I let him fuck me. “Before you ask, I’m here to take Willow to an interview.”
He pushed his lips out, which made him look like a duck. “I’ll just pretend you’re here for me.”
“But I’m not.”
“You can’t stop me.”
I groaned and turned around to pour myself another cup. Suddenly, West was behind me with his chest pressed against my back. His hands came down on the counters so that I was boxed in. When he dropped his lips to the side of my neck, I couldn’t stop myself from tilting my head to give him access.
“You haven’t texted me back in almost a week,” he said before biting down on my neck.
“You’re supposed to be figuring things out. On your own.”
“I don’t like doing things alone. The company sucks.”
One of his hands traveled up my chest and settled at my throat. He used it to pull me back roughly, forcing the breath out of me.
Apparently, West woke up ready to fight. Unexpected, but unsurprising.
“I’m happy to do it with you,” I replied more breathily than I liked. “When are we telling your roommates? I’m free all weekend.”
He growled and released me. I turned around and studied his angry expression.
“You said you didn’t like to publicize your life,” he reminded me .
“That’s not what this is about. I’m not even asking you to tell the world, just the people we’re gonna be around often. You shouldn’t be hiding from the most important people in your life, especially when you know they’re going to be completely accepting of it.”
He ground his teeth together, then grabbed his own mug and poured some coffee. I wanted to comfort him, but I couldn’t just abandon my own feelings on the subject.
“Look, West. I don’t date closeted men because I hate being someone’s dirty secret they’re too ashamed to fess up to. Ninety percent of the time they don’t end up coming out and I get hurt. I thought you were different because you’re not afraid to show the world your middle finger and you said you wouldn’t have a problem with liking a guy.”
“I told you it isn’t that.”
“Well, it sure as shit isn’t about PDA.” I stepped toward him and he reached out to wrap his arm around my middle, pulling me closer. “The longer we do this, the more I’m gonna fucking fall for you. And if I can’t trust that this is what you want, then I’m not gonna let myself do that.”
His eyes softened. He brought his hand up and ran his fingers through my hair. I resisted the urge to tell him how long I’d spent taming these godforsaken curls.
“I keep thinking about you,” he said. “I want to talk to you and touch you, so I think it’s safe to say that I want this.”
“What are you afraid of?”
“I mean, it’s you. Kai’s gonna gloat because I was wrong and say I was dramatic about hating you. Blah, blah, blah. Everyone will make a big deal out of it.”
The coffee suddenly felt more acidic in my stomach. All week, I’d been agonizing over the battle West was having with himself. I’d read the whole thing wrong.
“Seriously?” I shook my head, still unable to believe what he was saying. “This is about pride. That’s even worse.”
“How is it worse?”
“You don’t want to be with me because you can’t admit that you were wrong. If that means more to you than pursuing something with a guy who has admitted how much he cares about you, then I’m not gonna do this. ”
“Wait. You don’t want to do this?”
“I want to, but now I don’t know what to think. If it was any other guy, you wouldn’t hesitate. But not me .”
He stared at me, silent and unreadable. It was frustrating to speak so openly, to give him so much, and get nothing in return. West loved to talk, more than anybody I knew, but not about his feelings. I could understand it, but if he wanted something real, he had to at least meet me halfway. He had to try .
“It’s…” He sighed and dropped his head back. “Maybe it sounds dumb, but people are probably gonna laugh and say I hated you because I found you hot or something.”
“Who cares?” When he turned those bright eyes on me, I cupped his face. “I thought you were fearless, Densmore.”
The corner of his mouth curved upward. “You’re trying to taunt me.”
I shrugged. “I’m ready to face it all for you. Don’t you want to beat me or something?”
He returned to his pensive state, nodding his head every once in a while. Every second was agonizing and it was difficult to read him. I was just waiting for him to push me away again. I had to ask myself how many times I’d come crawling back, pathetically asking him for something that I wasn’t sure he could give.
“Fine. You win.”
“I win?” I repeated, taken aback.
“I’ll talk to Kai this weekend. If you make me regret this…”
He took my cup and set it down before he kissed me. Immediately, I pushed him back against the counter, letting go of my inhibitions.
“You have morning breath,” I murmured against his lips.
“And you taste like stolen coffee creamer. I think we’ll both survive.”
“Call it payment for the cake.”
“We both know you wouldn’t have finished that thing. You’re disgustingly healthy.”
“That’s why I have a better throw than you.”
He gasped dramatically, putting a hand on my chest to push me away. “Take it back.”
“Nope. I’ve easily got five yards on you. ”
“This is blasphemy.”
“Let’s not even talk about your stamina.”
Locking a hand around my throat, he brought me close to his lips but too far for me to reach them. “My stamina is unmatched.”
“Prove it.”
“You have attitude today,” he noted.
“Just a few minutes ago, you said you were ashamed to like me.”
He scoffed. “That’s not what I said.”
“It hurt. I don’t know if I’ll recover.”
With a smirk, he reached down and undid the button on my jeans. Just that simple act made blood rush to my cock. He flicked my top lip with his tongue and I opened my mouth. His tongue sought mine without kissing me, like he just wanted to taste me, then he delved deeper. It was wet and wild and fucking obscene. His eyes blazed with animalistic hunger while he brushed his fingers over my shaft.
When he dropped to his knees, my heart began to beat faster.
“I’ve never done this,” he admitted.
“I figured.”
“Can I try it?”
“Do you expect me to say no?”
He gave me that smile that first made me notice him on the field. Of course, it was followed up by his challenge to have a duel. This was an infinitely better experience.
“Wait,” I said. “What if she comes out?”
“You’d better cum fast, then.” He bit his lip as he stroked me a couple of times. “Do I just…”
He wrapped his lips around it and nearly took me down to the base in one go like a fucking champ. I swore, caught off guard by his unexpected exuberance. He pulled back and licked his lips, looking contemplative.
“Not to be a dick,” I drawled. “But I was enjoying that. What’s going through that mad brain of yours?”
“I was wondering…”
“What?” Reaching down, I ran my fingers through his hair, trying to reassure him.
“Is this the gayest thing I’ve ever done or was that taking your dick in my ass? This feels gayer. ”
Moving my hand away from his head, I swiped it down my face. “This has to be a fever dream. What the fuck am I doing with my life?”
“You should be telling me how handsome I am. Exceedingly attractive. The sexiest man to ever waltz into your life.”
“Come on, West. I don’t want to lie to you.”
He narrowed his eyes, but I saw the way his attention snagged on my smile. With a huff, he shifted on his knees and leaned forward again. Returning my fingers to his hair, I tightened my grip. There was a taunt in his eyes when he stuck his tongue all the way out and licked my shaft. When he reached the top, he took me inside his mouth again and this time, he didn’t come up to ask stupid questions. He didn’t even come up for air.
“Christ,” I groaned. The shower turned off and I looked toward the bathroom. “West, stop.”
He grunted, then grabbed my hips and pushed me backward into the counter. I gripped the edge, staring down at him as he took me deeper. He quickened his pace, making me forget all about the bathroom and getting caught. I held on to the back of his head and moved my hips forward with a groan.
A sound from somewhere in the apartment reminded me that I couldn’t hold myself back and enjoy this moment for as long as I wanted to. My mouth opened as I let the feeling of his lips around my cock bring me close to my orgasm.
“God, baby, you feel so good. Does this turn you on?” He gave me a small nod. “You want me to fuck you after this?” Another nod. The idea of it pushed me over the edge. I didn’t even ask if he wanted me to cum in his mouth. Any other scenario felt insane at this point.
I thrust into his mouth hard, reaching into his throat and making him gag. He didn’t back up or push me away; he just let me finish myself off. When I stilled, he hummed around me. I jerked and pursed my lips firmly as I came, giving him every last drop. He started to move again slowly and it was almost too much, but I didn’t care. I loved being inside of him in any way and, even more, I loved that he wanted this.
Taking a few heavy breaths, I shook my head. “How the hell are you so good at that? ”
His bright eyes locked on mine as he slid his mouth back, releasing me. “I practiced.”
“Excuse me?” I growled, tightening my grip in his hair. “With who?”
“An inanimate object, but you can get all possessive again. I was sort of digging it.”
He stood and took a step away. After buttoning my pants, I grabbed either side of his neck. Walking him backward, I pinned him against the island with enough force to push the air out of him. When I kissed him, I had only one thought.
This man was mine. I was claiming West Densmore and it might end up being the dumbest thing I’d taken a chance on, but I couldn’t bring myself to care.
“Hm.”
I pulled back abruptly and looked at the dark-haired, smirking man leaning against the wall leading into the kitchen. Kai crossed his arms over his chest and looked us up and down.
“West,” he drawled. “Those are some very red knees you have.”
To his credit, West didn’t look horrified, but his face had gone pink. “Would you believe me if I said it’s not what it looks like?”
“Not for a second.
I dropped my forehead onto his shoulder as I began to laugh. His hand came around the back of my neck and he stroked my skin.
“I don’t think you have to talk to Kai this weekend,” I noted.
“Sen!” Kai called.
A grumpy-looking Sen joined us. He didn’t even look at us before he walked into Kai’s chest and buried his face in his neck. Kai wrapped his arms around him with such an expression of love that the moment almost felt too intimate to witness.
“I owe you fifty,” Kai said.
“Why?” Sen mumbled.
Kai flipped him around and used his finger to turn his face towards us. Sen’s eyes widened before he let out a short laugh.
“I told you.”
“You didn’t seriously make a bet,” West gawked.
Sen shrugged. “He was convinced that you’d tell him, but I said that you’re too impulsive not to get caught.”
“You guys knew? ”
Kai gave him a pointed look. “Neither of you are sly. Training with Linc and talking about your football skills? Not a chance. Plus, you give each other heart eyes.”
“We do not give each other heart eyes,” West argued.
“You do,” Sen countered. “Well, Linc has heart eyes. You give longing glances.”
“That’s fucking stupid.”
Sen laughed, then his nose wrinkled. “Did you do ungodly things in our kitchen?”
Before anyone could answer, the bathroom door opened. Willow came out, then stopped abruptly when she saw all of us. Her eyes were wide and when someone appeared behind her, I understood why she looked guilty.
“Rick,” West growled. “Why are you in our shower with my sister?”
“Uh…”
“Don’t do that,” Willow chided. Her eyes landed on me and she smirked. “I don’t have an interview today. Sorry.”
“Yeah, I gathered that pretty early on.”
With a shrug, she grabbed Rick’s hand and retreated to her room. The energy in this place had become more than awkward, so I leaned close to West’s ear.
“Let me take you to breakfast.”
“Isn’t that what I just had?”
“What have I gotten myself into here?”
“A world of excitement, Linc. Fine, we can go to breakfast, but I need to shower first. Alone,” he added, casting me a suspicious look.
I thought about arguing, but I didn’t want to take another shower anyway. When he disappeared into the bathroom, I glanced at Kai, who was still lingering.
“It’s more than just sex, right?” he asked.
“Yes,” I replied without hesitation.
He gave me a curt nod. “Good.” Then, he pulled Sen back down the hall.
I looked around, feeling weirdly alone now. Maybe I’d get to see West blush again if he found me naked in his bed. Worth a shot.
