64. Lucian

10 Minutes Prior

" L ucian, slow down; you’re not going to be able to stop before the gate," Jayme screams as he clutches the center console and braces his hand against the dash. I laugh maniacally.

"Who the hell said I wanted to stop? Nope, we are going straight in." I know I have a wild look in my eyes. It’s time to send this bastard to hell, where he belongs.

I maintain my speed at almost 100mph. As we approach the gate, I see three guards standing with guns pointed at the ready.

"10 points each, right?" I look at Jayme, who looks utterly confused at my statement. I slam harder on the gas and ram straight into the gate and the men behind its bars. The sickening noise as they bounce off the windshield would normally cause me to throw up, but right now, it is music to my ears. They all need to pay.

"Fuck. Lucian, ok, we are in, slow down." Jayme shouts as I whip around Theo’s yard. I see a few guards running toward us and decide to take them out as well.

They scatter the best they can to avoid being hit, but I manage to clip 3 of them, their bodies flying around like bowling pins. They might not be dead yet, but they will be soon.

"Fuck you, mother fuckers." I yell as I barrel toward more guards.

Jayme opens his window and leans out to start unloading his gun into the guards as I drive us around.

"Shit, dude, keep her steady." He scolds me as I swerve to avoid hitting one of the many stupid fountains scattered on this property. What a pretentious fuck.

I drive the car around the Manor once more, verifying the outdoor guards are taken care of. I pull the car up to the front door. Jayme gives me an evil grin and grabs something round from the center console. He fumbles with it, then tosses it in the bushes next to the door.

"Duck your head down!" he yells.

I tuck my head down just in time. The explosion shatters the entire front door and an adjacent wall. Opening up a large hole for us. Glancing in, once the debris clears, there are about 20 men confused and damaged by the explosion. Jayme thankfully closed the window because the men start pelting our car with a barrage of bullets. The pinging noises of them bouncing off the car is deafening. I glance at Jayme, and he is on the phone.

"Tim! ETA?"

* 4 minutes out, boy. What the fuck is that noise .* Tim demands.

"Ummmm, just a shower of bullets." Jayme laughs.

* Fuck, kid, what did I tell you!? *

"Hey, not my fault. I wasn’t the one driving. Anyway, there’s a huge hole in the front gate for you to come through, and I’ve already blown a hole in the front of the house. It’s a party, so you guys had better get here soon. Oh, also, I definitely owe you a new car." He laughs as he hangs up the phone and dials another number.

"Elias, were you able to get blueprints of the house?"

*Yep, I am sending them over now. Umm, Sir. Why does it sound like you are in a hailstorm?*

"Oh, just some bullets. There's no need to worry."

* Oh yeah, some? I just pulled back up the feed. Five more guards are sneaking around from the south side. Hold on .*

There’s a loud explosion to the south.

*Ok, taken care of, Sir.* Elias laughs.

"What the fuck was that?" Jayme asks.

*Oh, do you remember last time you said it would be fun to have a rocket launcher? Well, I thought so too, so I equipped 2 of the drones, each with a mini rocket launcher. The guards on the south side are not going to be a problem.*

"Nice!" Jayme looks so proud.

*Oh, wait. Here you go.*

Suddenly, another drone comes flying in, and we watch it shoot a rocket right through the hole in the house. Body parts and debris go flying everywhere.

*OK, you are clear to enter.*

"Damn, Elias, remind me to give you a raise." Jayme laughs as he hangs up the phone. "Damn, that kid is good. I found him running hustles in the slums of Santa Monica 4 years ago when he was just 16. He is a genius with a heart just as bloodthirsty as me."

We dash out of the car and up the steps. I have my gun at the ready, no hesitation this time.

"Ok, according to the blueprints, his bedroom is up the stairs; go down the main hallway, turn left, and down four doors on the right. God damn, this place is a fucking maze. I’m assuming he is keeping her in there, so we will check there first."

*Zing*

A bullet whizzes past my head and embeds itself into the wall behind me.

"Take cover!" Jayme shouts as he shoots two more guards coming down the left hall. I see one coming down the hall to our right and aim. I shoot and manage to hit him in the gut. It only momentarily stuns him before he raises his gun again.

*Bang*

Jayme shoots and hits him square between the eyes.

"We have to work on your aim. You will waste too many bullets." He chuckles as he lends me a hand up. Jayme takes down seven more guards, and the house falls eerily quiet.

Jayme and I get halfway up the stairs as we hear the army of trucks pulling in outside. Yay, the calvary is here. Jayme looks at me.

"Stay here!" He orders as he runs down the stairs to go get Tim.

"Fuck" A loud scream echoes through the halls.

Shit, that was a man, and it sounded like Theo. I can’t wait for Jayme. I bolt up the last few steps and follow the path he told me. As I come up to the first corner, I take aim as I round it, coming face to face with another guard. I pull my trigger faster, blowing a hole in the man’s skull. Blood and skull fragments spray everywhere as his body crumples to the floor.

I glance past his lifeless corpse and see Theo stumbling out of a room, attempting to button up his pants. He is shirtless, and there is blood everywhere. His one eye is shut and looks all bloody and fucked up. Good. I’m hoping Cassie did that number on him. I can see the moment his good eye focuses on my face. The look of shock and pure hatred is so satisfying.

"You. I fucking shot you. Morelli said you were dead." He screams at me. I laugh wildly again.

"No, you dumbass. You asked if I made it, and he chose not to answer you. Now where’s Cassie, you piece of shit. I swear to God, if you harmed one hair on her head, I’ll rip every limb from your body." I scream. His lips curl into a sick smile.

"Why, she’s right in here. Oh, Cassandra dear, someone’s here to see you." Silence. "Awe. Well, it looks like she doesn’t want to see anyone right now. She’s a bit... out of commission anyways." He pauses at that last part before laughing.

Rage takes over my vision. I scream as I stalk down the hall toward him, taking aim and then shooting. I hit right where I want, the fuckers knee cap.

"FUCK!" He screams as he crumples to the floor. I land on top of him and start beating him with the gun.

"You fucking piece of shit. You will regret the day you ever laid eyes on her." I continue the onslaught on his face.

Blood is spraying the walls. His face is a mess, and the sickening sounds of breaking bones ricochets off the walls. There’s blood covering my face, hands, and body. I can’t seem to get a grip on reality to stop hitting him. I feel like every trace of the man I once was disappearing with each strike. I hit him over. And over. And over. The feeling of his life draining from him at my hands is pure bliss.

"Lucian, stop!" I feel Jayme’s hand grab the gun, ripping it from my grasp. "He’s out. Don’t kill him yet." He places a hand on my shoulder to try to calm me, but I keep hitting Theo with my bare hands. “Stop, Lucian!” His scream snaps me out of the rage. "You did good. Breathe." He smiles down at me. I’m shaking. I want to keep hitting him.

"Boys, take him to the warehouse. We have to find Cassie." He orders.

Jayme takes my arm to help me stand. My legs are shaky, but I know I need to keep going. I turn to look into the room Theo came out of, and my entire world is obliterated in a mere second. Across the room, I can see a woman lying naked in a pool of blood. My woman.
