CHAPTER – 26

Ranveer shook his head in fear... he gasped for oxygen but Abhyansh didn't loosen his grip, instead tightened blocking the oxygen supply completely... his anger overpowered his senses, looking at Ranveer's face, he remembered how he pulled his wife's hair just a few hours back and pushed her on the floor... even the thought is killing him and with every reminisce of the pain he gave her, his fist tightened... Ranveer's eyes rolled back and he knew he is going to die, he just prayed to God for his sister's happiness after this.

"H.. Hu... Hu... Hukum... Rani sa... ", Bhairav fumbled trying to control his fear, this rarely happens that even Bhairav gets afraid of talking in front of Abhyansh.

Hearing about Isha, Abhyansh left Ranveer's neck, and his chair fell with a thud and breaking, the broken wooden parts hurting his legs, but Ranveer didn't even feel anything, the air supply he received after getting choked badly felt much needed more than anything. He took deep breaths to bring his respiration back on track...

Abhyansh tried to calm down, he closed his eyes and tried remembering his wife's serene face but all he could see is her swollen forehead, red eyes, quivering lips, dishevelled hair, and broken form... He felt as if daggers are thrown at his heart. How could he hurt her?? How could he lose control and hurt her?? With the amount of love he had for her, he thought he could never hurt her, he is incapable of it, but today he was proven wrong. He left a man like Kailash Rajput various times without hurting him despite his evil deeds and him continuously testing his patience just because of the promise he gave to his son, then how could he hurt his wife whom he loves more than anything in this world? The fury of her deciding to go away from him brought that animal out of him which he decided to hide forever for her. At that moment, he realized, his love for his wife not only brought his soft and loving side to life but also has a destructive side to it. And if he didn't control that dangerous side, it could hurt her in the future and even the thought scared him.

Till then, he thought he needs to control his beast form only during intimacy as he knew his wife is very soft and he is extremely rough and passionate but that moment, he realized he needs to control every single emotion of his when it came to his wife. She is the creator as well as the destroyer for him.

"Ahh...Ah...", Abhyansh screamed in frustration punching the wall just above Ranveer's face scaring the sh*t out of him...

"Now let's talk Rajput, eh??", Abhyansh said throwing daggers at his brother-in-law and Ranveer nodded, unable to get a single word out of his mouth...

"Why did you do it??", Abhyansh asked in a menacing tone...

Ranveer's fear slowly disappeared recollecting all the tortures he did to his sister, and he looked at Abhyansh's eyes with a fit of raw anger that intensified the fury that was bubbling in Abhyansh. He quickly marched towards him, Bhairav and the other men expected him to thrash Ranveer but the BEAST freed Ranveer from the clutches. Ranveer looked at him and understood the BEAST was challenging his anger, he got up and dusted his clothes...

"You want a reason, right?? You fu**ng tortured my sister... you abused her... I don't want her to live with an animal like you, my father was far better than you, he at least didn't hurt her physically...", Ranveer said and his fury intensified looking at Abhyansh's cold face, without any regret or guilt but only the BEAST knew how angry he is on himself for ever hurting his wife... Ranveer fisted and threw a punch at Abhyansh which he dodged and punched Ranveer instead...

"Hukum...", Bhairav shouted, and the men and Bhairav moved towards Ranveer to catch him but Abhyansh stopped them... how can they leave a man who dared to raise his hand on their king??

"Get out of here, everyone, I want to talk to my brother-in-law alone", Abhyansh said stressing the 'talk' too much that gave the hint to his men and they walked out leaving the brothers-in-law alone in the scary den but the men in it looked scarier than the surroundings now.

As soon as the men left, Abhyansh lifted his hand again... both the men knew that they could converse peacefully only when they take off their anger for each other... Ranveer lunged at Abhyansh and landed a punch on his jaw, which Abhyansh returned with a double impact the very next second.

Ranveer knew his brother-in-law too wanted both of them to remove their frustration, otherwise, the BEAST never let anyone hurt him till now that too in a dual... he is really a BEAST in it and no human could win over a beast. Ranveer wanted to fully utilize this chance and take out his anger for all the hurt he caused his sister.

Ranveer is also trained well in sword fight, boxing, and shooting by none other than his uncle and Abhyansh's enemy for life, Amar Rajput.

Both the men fought like animals, Ranveer is more injured than Abhyansh, but he didn't leave, he fought till he is finally exhausted, both the men sat down staring at each other in anger. Ranveer's anger subsided but Abhyansh's didn't, the thought that Ranveer made his wife sign divorce papers is making him rage like a mad bull and he knew this rage is not gonna end anytime soon... if it was someone else, he would have tortured that man by removing every small body part of his one by one and breaking all the 206 bones making him feel every bit of the pain without dying.

"You hurt my sister... how could you hurt a pure soul like my Ishu... because of you she wears full sleeves or tries to hide the mark on her wrist with lots of bangles... you burnt her wrist just because she came a few minutes late?? How could you?? That too under my roof?? I was a fool to let her marry you, I was a fool to not understand my father's dirty games, I thought my Ishu is doing this willingly, I should have known...", Ranveer said, tears falling from his eyes... it's all his fault, only if he had saved her from this marriage.

Abhyansh couldn't breathe remembering his tortures on his wife, he felt suffocated, couldn't breathe, he stood up and removed his suit, waistcoat, even then he couldn't breathe properly, he removed the shirt as well and took the water bottle and poured it on himself wetting himself from top to bottom...

And Ranveer couldn't stop the gasp that escaped his mouth, if it was in normal circumstances, the reason for his gasp would be Abhyansh's strong muscles, and the perfect 8 pack on his body with Greek god-like features but at this situation, Ranveer gasped looking at the wounds on his chest, though they looked healed now, they are fresh, he could say it just by looking as he knew the wounds during sword fights...

The wounds are brutal and Ranveer is sure that none could injure the BEAST until he allows them to...

"How did you get them??", Ranveer asked, his tone softening... Abhyansh didn't answer, just sat there trying to calm his breathing, Ranveer saw how he reacted on remembering about his tortures on his wife, it doesn't take a genius to figure out the reason behind those wounds, but Ranveer wanted to hear it from his mouth.

"Did you hurt yourself to compensate for the pain you gave to my sister", Ranveer asked, and Abhyansh's eyes blazed with fire...

"Your sister is not a commodity neither her pain is, to compensate for it with these stupid injuries, nothing could compensate for the pain I gave her, My Isha deserves the world but I couldn't even make her feel safe, and secure around me, these wounds are the result of my anger towards myself, got hurt in a sword fight", Abhyansh said and Ranveer sighed, taking a water bottle and handing to the BEAST who accepted and drank the whole contents in it.

"Is it on the day she got her nightmare for the first time??", Ranveer asked, Abhyansh didn't nod but he knew he was right, he observed how his sister was being extra cautious and concerned for her husband, that time he didn't think much but now it all made sense.

"Everything I said regarding my sister's nightmares was true, but I used them to make you stop from contacting her... she badly wanted to call you but I told her you were very busy and she shouldn't disturb you, when you get free, you yourself will call her, that crazy girl used to wait for your call and whenever her phone rang, she used to get so excited thinking it was you, and I didn't like it, despite you hurting her so much, she was getting attached to you too much, she is giving you more importance than required and I didn't want her to get hurt, my sister is everything to me and I can't let her stay with you, so I did everything I could do to stop her from coming to you", Ranveer said gulping some water... Abhyansh wanted to break his teeth but waited to know the whole truth.

"And??", Abhyansh asked, though he knew the whole matter now, after listening to Ranveer's call recordings, he didn't want to let his cunning BIL know about it.

"That day when you came to Rajput palace, Isha was about to tell you she would return after a week but I made my friend lie to her that he is in a problem and he needs both of us, that's why Isha told you she doesn't know when she would return, I wanted you to feel, Isha doesn't want to come back, and regarding the divorce papers, she thought they were property papers that she is signing in my name, I tricked her, I know she wouldn't agree to divorce you, so I had to do this", Ranveer said and Abhyansh sprang to him throwing a powerful punch in Ranveer's stomach which made him clutch his stomach tightly in pain... "I don't regret a bit, you don't deserve my sister, the only thing I regret is breaking my Isha's trust", Ranveer shouted, and Abhyansh closed his eyes to control his temper and not to kill him...

"Rajput... you can't take my wife away, stop trying", Abhyansh warned coldly

"I won't stop till my last breath", Ranveer said

"Then let me stop your breathing right now", Abhyansh said moving towards Ranveer who took two back steps fearing the BEAST

"Don't be a BEAST and think being in my place, would you let your sister be with such a man who tortured her so much??", Ranveer asked without knowing he is scratching a wounded lion...

As soon as the BEAST heard what Ranveer said, he lunged towards him holding his neck in a tight grip with his left hand, and took out the gun from his right and shoved its head in Ranveer's mouth making him terrified...

"Rajput... you said it now... never... I repeat never utter it again if you want to live", Abhyansh roared which made his men rush inside and the sight shocked him...

Their king never thought of killing Ranveer, but looking at his fury, they were not sure anymore...

Abhyansh remembered Isha and that calmed his nerves, he took out the gun from his mouth and threw it on the floor dejected... Ranveer didn't understand what made him so furious, is it that part that he called him a BEAST or that part when he talked about his sister but why would he get so angry for his imaginary sister unless he had a sister or still has?? Ranveer's eyes widened in realization but after the treatment he just received, he didn't dare to ask any further questions...

Abhyansh dispersed his men and Ranveer and he again sat opposite each other, this time none talked... after half an hour, Abhyansh slowly opened his mouth...

"My wife is very important to me, I can't hurt her Rajput, believe it or not, I don't care... but I don't want you to hurt her again with your stupid games in the name of separating us... she is very hurt when she realized you betrayed her, above that, I behaved like an animal with her", Abhyansh said closing his eyes in regret...

"What did you do??", Ranveer asked angrily, though, after Abhyansh's little stunt, he is a bit afraid of him now, he is this far to get shot by his brother-in-law, and he is sure it was his sister’s (Isha) face that saved his life even after the BEAST's fury.

Abhyansh said what he did and Ranveer closed his eyes in anger...

"You see, this is why I don't want you near my sister", Ranveer said

"Shut the f**k up Rajput, this is all because of you, we are doing very fine, she said she doesn't want to maintain a husband-wife relationship with me, I got angry but after a while I understood her, I was ready to give her time, it was you who dragged it till our divorce... that mad girl even after seeing my rage was protecting you, she realized your betrayal by looking at the papers but she didn't open her mouth, she is ready to take the blame on her head to protect you", Abhyansh shouted making Ranveer flinch in fear and regret as well...

"Ah... stupid Ishu... she is always like this... ", Ranveer said, he remembered how she took the blame on her head when it was Ranveer whose mistake set her father's library on fire. His uncle was a very good man, he never punished them for anything, he tried to make them understand things calmly. When Ranveer got the know what his sister did, he gave her an earful, looks like she hasn't changed much, he thought...

"What problem do you have with my bhabhosa??", Ranveer asked remembering his uncle, he was a very kind man, he couldn't harm anyone, what could probably trigger BEAST'S anger hearing his name, wondered Ranveer...

"That man was vile, I married Isha just to get my revenge on that b**t**d, I tortured her because she has his blood, but now I changed, that Abhyansh Singh Ranawat who wants revenge on Amar Rajput's blood is dead now, I can't hurt her anymore, she is everything to me", Abhyansh said, Ranveer is surprised to see the ever-cold BEAST a bit emotional for the first time.

"But I want to know the reason, if you could torture her once for no fault of hers, you could do it again, what if you get to know more truths going forward, you will hurt her again", Ranveer said...

"I also know you are playing some sick games to separate my wife from me, but I let you do it, I didn't even try to find out as I believed in Isha, I know she wouldn't leave me, but I failed to keep that belief till the end, I gave into my anger rather than being rational", Abhyansh said regretting his anger, his wife is not going to forgive him, but he needs to seek forgiveness... his self is shocked to see Abhyansh Singh Ranawat wanting to seek forgiveness, this was no less than any 8th wonder.

"Ranawat... I think you are misunderstanding my bhabosa, he can't harm a single being, he was very kind", Ranveer said and that angered the BEAST. Looks like he hasn't learned anything.

"I know what he did, whatever he did, it was in front of my eyes... I could never forget it Rajput, never defend that man, I hate it", Abhyansh said

"Rajput... she wouldn't know about this, you won't say a word", Abhyansh said... "not until I wanted to", he added

"And how would you stop me?? By killing me??", Abhyansh said

"By killing your friend, Vikram... who lied to my wife on your request, the very same friend whom you saved even ignoring your sister's pain", Abhyansh said, and Ranveer's face paled at the mention of his friend, he knew The Royal BEAST is known for his punishments for the betrayers and the people who help them and in a way Vikram comes under that category... he can only think what would happen to him if the BEAST gets his hands on Vikram...

"Don't involve him in our family matters Ranawat, let him go, we can deal with this in a mature way", Ranveer said

"He would have been dead the minute I got to know what he did if I wasn’t dealing in a mature way because that's how I deal with people like your friend, who try to harm or deceive my family, and he dared to deceive my wife and became a reason I hurt my wife, it just takes a single phone call to punish that a**, I was not being myself and that's the reason we are sitting on either side of the table and negotiating, so don't preach me and let's talk, what do you have to offer in return of your friend's life", Abhyansh asked coldly, no emotions present like always

"You can't kill him, Isha won't forgive you, he is a good friend of hers too", Ranveer said

"Tch... tch... you can't use your 'Isha' card on me, I could do it and create as if it's a mob attack, I can do anything, you know it very well Rajput, I am leaving you alive for your sister's sake, that should suffice, I just changed for my wife, not the whole world, so tell me, what could you offer??", Abhyansh said, though he wanted to kill Vikram, he couldn't hurt his wife, she would be extremely sad by his demise even though she wouldn't know it was him behind it, he can't let her get sad, but her brother needn't know that...

"What do you want??", Ranveer said, knowing he would get whatever he wants, so it's better to ask what he wants rather than stating something he could offer and waste time

"You would never ever try to separate my wife and me, you would hide about this from her, and last but not least, you would encourage our relationship and never ever, I repeat, never ever hurt her", Abhyansh finished

"What?? No, I can't do that, I don't want you as my sister's husband", Ranveer whined

"Well, I don't want you as my wife's brother too, am I whining?? You can't have a say in some things, even though you are The BEAST and have more than half of the world at your feet, so be a man and accept what fate has to offer", Abhyansh said shocking Ranveer, did his brother-in-law just distribute free gyan for him, huh, he didn't imagine that he would see a day when he would be listening about fate and acceptance from a Beast like him. Ranveer scoffed at his own bitter thoughts...

"Fine... I don't have a choice, but you shouldn't harm my friend, anyways I don't have a choice other than agreeing to your terms, but you have to promise me, you wouldn't torture my sister, ever", Ranveer asked

"I won't", Abhyansh said before walking out of his den, he wanted to shout, and scream at his brother-in-law about how much he loves his wife but he couldn't, it's only for his wife to know... hm... wife... he needs to pacify her, he knew she is extremely mad at him and that’s completely justified, he hated himself for whatever he did to her.

He reached Ranawat palace and went to his home office directly, he first wanted to go to his chamber and see his wife, but he couldn't face her, he is ashamed of how he treated her...

He then remembered how she said she was his slave and all those words, he knew that the slave word is hurting her a lot, and he wanted to free her from that... he is afraid to do so. Fear gripped his heart; it's been more than one and half a decade that he felt this emotion but now the fear of losing her occupied his head.

'It's okay, you can do it, free her from the promise and lift the burden from her shoulders forever, if she leaves, then go and win her... gain her trust and bring her back, but for now, free her from this promise, only then can you build your trust in her and at the same time make her feel that you trust her and respect her' he thought but he couldn't muster the courage...

He took out his whiskey and had 3 pegs, but alcohol didn't even enter his system, his fear is getting him sober, only after having a full bottle did he start feeling a bit of it...

He called her and asked her to meet him in his study, he quickly hid the bottle, and washed his face and mouth hurriedly, he knew his wife hates alcohol smell.

" Isha... I am sorry ", Abhyansh said caressing her swollen forehead, he kept looking at her injury in worry while Isha stared at him gaping, as if he said the most bizarre thing in the world... "Is it hurting too much?? Did you take any painkillers?? Wait... Let me call the doctor here...", Abhyansh said taking out his phone, but Isha stopped him...

"Maharaj... I'll get fine till tomorrow, and no, I didn't take a painkiller, I was waiting for you so that I could ask you for permission before taking the medicine", she said and he looked at her with extreme regret, but she looked down, not even for once did she look at his face...

"You were serious, when you said you would behave like my...my slave??", Abhyansh asked her

"Yes Maharaj", Isha said like a robot

"You are not my slave, that's utterly stupid, I am sorry I ever called you one, you are my wife, I am freeing you from the promise today Isha, but please don't go away, I need you in my life", Abhyansh said shocking Isha, it's like she is dreaming, she felt as if the ground beneath her is snatched away and she is flying in air... She is about to lose her balance when Abhyansh caught her arms...

"It's not like I didn't trust you before, but looking at the divorce papers, I got angry, I know you were tricked too, it was my fault that I didn't trust you", Abhyansh said and this time she is afraid for her brother, he knew, he now knew it's her brother, what did he do to him??

"My... my bhai??", Isha asked with fear... she loves her brother despite everything, she can't let him get hurt...

"I didn't hurt him, though I badly wanted to, he is fine, we both just had a talk, and he will come here tomorrow", Abhyansh said, a sudden wave of anger took her...

"Why would he come here??", She asked looking at him in the eye with anger but realizing what she did, she immediately cascaded her eyes down but Abhyansh lifted her head holding her chin...

"Please, you are not my slave anymore, I freed you from that promise, but you are still my wife, you... you can't leave me", he said, the last part a bit afraid and she got the emotion in his tone... she nodded looking at him... she didn't like her mighty husband getting all weak and vulnerable.She hated herself for still thinking about him even after all he did but she couldn’t help it, but this time, he wasn’t getting away with a single ‘sorry’.

He caressed the swollen part of the forehead, took a painkiller from his drawer, and gave it to her, she swallowed it and then he held her hand and made her sit on the couch but before he could speak, she started saying...

"So, I am not your slave anymore??", She asked him softly, Abhyansh shook his head... "So, I don't have to follow your commands??", She asked again in the same tone... he again shook his head... "okay then, I am leaving for my room, I don't want to listen to you anymore", she said and ran to the king's chamber, and her room.

A small smile formed on his lips, surprisingly he didn't get angry, his wife is showing anger toward him, and that certainly felt very good to his heart. But it was soon replaced by a frown, now that she is not obliged to obey him, what if she decides to stay away from him?? Even the thought troubled him a lot...

Soon it was dinner time and everyone gathered at the dining table, they stood up in his respect when they saw him coming that way, and after he settled, everyone else settled too...

Isha served him the food but didn't look at him at all... she purposely served him plain rice on his plate knowing very well how much he hated to have plain white rice at night without proper and particular items that go with it... Amruta's eyes widened in fear, she is about to caution her daughter-in-law when she saw the most unexpected sight, her elder son who is a king in throwing tantrums over food is eating it calmly...

As soon as he completed the rice and rotis on his plate, Isha again served him rice and this time Amruta coughed in fear but her son again ate it calmly... It seemed that he is having difficulty eating it but he did without any complaints, Amruta could see the anger bubbling in him but didn't understand the reason for his holding up...

Poor Amruta didn't know that now the Royal BEAST got a person who could checkmate his tantrums as well as his anger...

Abhyansh finished everything he had on his plate and walked away to his home office brooding... and Isha couldn't stop the giggle that escaped her mouth... Rajmata Devyani devi looked at her with an amused face, her experience told her the untold story, she smirked to herself and walked away... it's going to be fun to see her arrogant, cruel, and cold-hearted grandson being so obedient...

Pratap too left the table, whereas Isha sat on the seat beside the head chair and started having her food...

"Isha... what was that beta?? Abhyansh doesn't like to have white rice at night, also he eats white rice only with particular combinations, did you forget?? I was so afraid that he would shout at you", Amruta said, Isha, didn't know what to answer... so she gave an apologetic smile as if she really forgot...

She did it purposely as she wanted to trouble her husband, she is extremely angry, how could he treat her like that?? He promised not to hurt her, how could he break that?? What Isha didn't understand is she started accepting him as her husband already and that's the reason she got angry with him instead of the cold feelings she used to have whenever he had hurt her in the past. At a point, she even started hating Abhyansh for hurting her dignity but now she is angry, rightfully angry as a wife gets on her husband. But he did cause a lot of damage by breaking his promise of not hurting her and she doubted if she could forgive him ever.

"Hm... what surprised me is bhai sa ate everything silently, he didn't throw tantrums?? Did he lose his voice??", Avyan asked, and Isha shrugged, and continued having her food.

"Bhabhi sa, I forgot to ask, how did you get hurt??", he asked pointing towards her forehead...

"Oh! that... she said she slipped and hit the table", Amruta answered instead, Isha told her the same when she asked while they were cooking.

"Oh! careful Bhabhi sa, did you take pain killer??", Avyan asked, Isha smiled affectionately at his care... she remembered how her husband gave her the painkiller.

"Yes, I took the painkiller, now I am fine, the swelling will go till tomorrow", Isha said and Avyan nodded...

"By the way, Bhabhi sa, do you have any idea why bhai sa was so angry today?? The way he talked to you seemed very unusual... wait... is that injury, did bhai sa hurt you??", Avyan asked suddenly joining the dots... for some reason, this time, Isha didn't want to tell her mother-in-law or her brother-in-law about her husband's behaviour...

"No... he didn't, he was angry but we sorted it out by.. by talking", Isha said, by her way of talking, Avyan understood she is lying, but he is surprised at how his Bhabhi sa is defending his bhai Sa’s actions.

"Avyan... you always see your brother as a rakshas, stop thinking negatively about your brother, nowadays, he won't hurt Isha, right beta??", Amruta said the last part looking at Isha to which she nodded with a smile to keep Amruta's heart...

"Of course, he wouldn't", Avyan said sarcastically, Amruta understood it and slapped his head...

Later Amruta went to wrap up the work in the kitchen, Avyan and Isha are left alone at the dining table. And Avyan decided to confront his sister-in-law.

"Bhabhi sa, why is bhai sa so furious, and he had hurt you?? Why??", Avyan asked, Isha is about to deny but by looking at Avyan's determined face, she sighed.

"It's not completely his fault this time Avyan, my brother did something he shouldn't, and your brother as usual couldn't control his temper, he thought I was the one who did it and got furious with me", Isha said... she knew she could talk it out with Avyan, he is always there for her and they had that closeness and bonding.

"What happened Bhabhi sa?? Tell me clearly, what did Mr. Rajput do??", Avyan asked

"My bhai made me sign divorce papers lying to me that they were property papers... and your brother received the papers this morning", Isha said, and tears made their way, remembering her brother's deception...

Avyan cupped his mouth hearing what Ranveer has done... now all things make sense, his brother never got so furious before, he always had control over his fury but today, he saw a different version of his brother. A small smile made its way on Avyan's face, if this divorce made his 'always-stay-in-control' BEAST brother lose his control, then that has only one meaning. His brother loves his Bhabhi sa...

"Avyan, you are smiling?? How could you??", Isha asked with a cute angry face that made Avyan laugh at her.

"No Bhabhi sa... I was smiling for a different reason, sorry", Avyan said

"Tell me why are you smiling?? You are happy about the divorce?? You don't want me to stay with your bhai sa??", Isha asked innocently, and Avyan shook his head, his sister-in-law is too good to understand these cunning conclusions...
