“I think I’m going to puke again,” Ford groaned as he climbed off the couch and rushed to the bathroom.
Once Austin and Levi left, I met Ford at a restaurant downtown for brunch. A few hours later, while we were at his condo, both of us got sick. I was the first to throw up, and after, I started to feel better. Unfortunately, my friend couldn’t say the same. The only thing I could think of was something had been wrong with his crab omelet that I took a bite of, and since I only had a small taste, I wasn’t hit as hard.
“Do you want me to take you to the doctor?” I asked through the closed door.
“No, but do you think you could order some Gatorade to be delivered?”
“On it,” I replied, pulling up a delivery app on my phone. “Want some crackers too?”
The door opened, and Ford stepped into the hallway, looking green. “Yeah, that sounds good. Are you okay if I go lay down for a little bit until the stuff gets here?”
“Of course. Can I get something for a headache before you go?”
He turned and walked back in the bathroom before returning with a bottle of ibuprofen. “This work?”
“Better than nothing. Thank you.” I grabbed my bottle of water from the table. “I’ll watch some TV, and if you need anything, just shout.”
He gave me a weak smile. “Thanks, Kay. Sorry today turned out the way it did. I was looking forward to hanging out with you.”
“Don’t worry about it. Hopefully, you’ll feel better by tomorrow, and we can watch the game together.”
Once the snacks and drinks arrived, I peeked into Ford’s room. He appeared to be sleeping, and I decided it was better to let him get some rest. I went back to the living room to watch a couple of episodes of my favorite show, drinking electrolytes to help hydrate me too.
Eventually, Ford reemerged from his bedroom, looking a bit better.
“How are you feeling?” I asked, standing to grab him his sports drink.
“Better. I think the worst might be over.” I handed him a glass of diluted blue Gatorade. “Thanks.”
“You’re welcome. I did a little research while you were sleeping and found that you should mix the Gatorade with water because sugar can be upsetting for someone with food poisoning.”
“Look at you watching out for me.” He gave me a small smile.
“Of course. Don’t need you throwing up again.” I checked the time on my phone. “Are you going to be okay if I take off? I have a couple of errands to run, and then the guys said they’d call me before they go to sleep tonight.”
“Ah, it’s one of those calls.” He waggled his eyebrows.
“Don’t act like you don’t do the same.” I giggled.
“Damn right I do. You got to do whatever you can to keep the spark alive while they’re on the road, and you’ve got two hockey players to deal with.”
“Jealous?” I teased.
“Hell, no.” He chuckled. “Have you seen my husband? I’ve got my hands full with just him. Literally.”
I rolled my eyes playfully. “On that note, I’m going to head out. If anything changes, you can call me, and I’ll come right back.”
“I’ll be fine, but I appreciate it.”
“No worries. That’s what friends are for.”
“I’m not sure any friend would stay while someone spent the entire day puking.” Ford walked me to the door.
“True, but I’m the best friend, so there’s more responsibility.” I laughed.
“The absolute best,” he agreed and leaned in for a hug. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Later.”
Austin’s king-sized bed, covered in high thread count sheets and a plush duvet, was the most comfortable place I’d ever slept, but it wasn’t the same laying in it alone. When I left Ford and Coop’s place, I decided to stay at Austin’s condo after running errands and checking on Toby at home. My apartment wasn’t necessarily unsafe, but I felt better staying in a building with twenty-four staff. Plus, I was closer to Ford if he got sick again.
Besides, being surrounded by one of my boyfriend’s things made it just a tad bit easier to deal with them being on the road.
I couldn’t stop the smile that spread across my face whenever I called Austin and Levi my boyfriends. Most people would consider our relationship unusual and some would probably go as far as thinking it was wrong, but I couldn’t have been happier with how things had turned out. It might not have been how I envisioned my future even a month ago, but the idea of not having both men in my life filled me with something so unpleasant I didn’t allow the thoughts to take root.
As I scrolled through social media, my phone rang with an incoming video call. I scooted up to lean against the headboard, fluffed my hair a little, and slid my finger across the screen to answer.
“Hey, sweetheart.” Levi grinned when the camera turned on. “Don’t you look comfy in Austin’s bed?”
Austin’s face appeared on the screen, his smile wide. “You look lonely in that thing.”
“I know.” I frowned. “It’s so much better when you’re both here with me.”
“At least this is a short road trip,” Levi said. “Then we’ll be home for a week.”
“I can’t wait,” I replied. “Now tell me about your night. How was dinner with your parents, Austin?”
He sat on the bed next to Levi, and I was briefly distracted because it appeared they were both shirtless. “It was good. My sister is in town and joined us. We don’t usually see each other during our respective seasons, so it was a nice surprise. Although”—he shook his head—“she seems convinced I’m seeing someone.”
“Really? Why?” The guys and I were still keeping our relationship on the down-low, so I was curious why Austin’s dating status became a topic of conversation.
He smiled. “Because I seem happy.”
I couldn’t help but give both of them a grin of my own because seeing them together warmed my heart.
“Did you tell her you were dating someone?” Levi asked.
Austin shook his head. “No. I lied and said I wasn’t seeing anyone.”
Levi glanced down. “I’m sorry you couldn’t tell your family the truth because of me.”
Austin lifted Levi’s face with a finger under his chin. “Hey, you’re not the only one with secrets. Remember, my family doesn’t know I’m bi? Eventually, we might feel like it’s the right time to tell everybody about us, but there’s no pressure to do it now.”
“Okay.” Levi nodded.
Austin looked back at the screen. “Now, sweetness, how was your day?”
“Uh, it could have been better.”
“What happened?” Levi was the first to ask, but they both looked concerned.
“Ford and I are pretty sure we got food poisoning at brunch.”
“Are you still sick?” Austin questioned, sitting up slightly as though he was ready to help me even though he was almost 2,000 miles away.
“I can order some soup or electrolytes to be delivered if you want,” Levi added, looking almost frantic.
Their concern for my well-being made me realize I would react the same way if something were to happen to them and I was far away. I’d never cared for anyone as deeply as I did for them, and I couldn’t help but wonder if those butterflies I felt every time I was with them were turning into something deeper. Something like love.
“I’m fine now. Ford got the worst of it. I only felt bad for a couple of hours this afternoon and had a little headache,” I explained, leaving out the part about throwing up since that wasn’t sexy and I didn’t want them to picture me over the toilet barfing. “I’m surprised Coop didn’t say anything to you, Levi. Weren’t you guys hanging out tonight?”
“Actually,” he began. “Austin wasn’t the only one who met up with his family. My mom showed up tonight as well.”
My eyes widened. “I thought you said your parents didn’t go to your games?”
He lifted a shoulder. “They don’t. But my father was out of town this weekend, preaching at our sister church in Louisiana. Mom said she didn’t want to sit at home all alone, so she booked a last-minute flight and decided to come watch me play.”
From the little bit he’d shared about his folks, I didn’t think his mom traveling to another state without her husband was something Pastor Sexton would approve of. Still, it must have been nice for Levi to have one-on-one time with his mother. “I bet that was a surprise.”
He nodded. “It was, and I think there’s more to the story than she’s letting on, but she insisted she was there because she missed me and didn’t have anything keeping her at home. We’re getting together after morning skate tomorrow, so maybe I’ll get something more out of her then.”
“Well, whatever is happening, I hope you enjoy your visit with her.”
“Thanks,” he smiled.
“Okay, enough about parents and sick friends.” Austin smirked. “Seeing you in my bed makes me think of all the things we do when it’s the three of us in it.”
“At least you two have each other. I’ve had to rely on my vibrator the whole time you’ve been gone.”
When we first talked about our relationships and the guys being together on the road, a small part of me worried I would be jealous of them sharing moments without me. I didn’t mention anything to them about it, and much to my relief, I found it to be more of a turn-on than anything else, so while they were on the road, I relied on memories of them kissing and fucking to get me off.
“Vibrator?” Levi’s eyes lit up. “Do you have it with you?”
I shook my head. “I left it at home.”
“Well, that’s a bummer. Maybe you could use your fingers instead,” Austin suggested, his voice husky with need.
“Are you saying you want to watch me touch myself?”
Levi nodded. “Fuck yeah, we do.”
“Will you touch each other?” I asked, flinging the comforter and sheets off me so they could get a better view of what I was about to do.
“Does the thought of us getting each other off turn you on, sweetness?” Austin asked, his eyebrows arched in curiosity.
“You know it does.” I breathed.
Austin turned to Levi. “Think we can give her a show?”
Levi smirked into the camera. “That’s definitely a possibility.” He glanced back at Austin. “But you need to strip out of your boxers for that to happen.”
Austin climbed off the bed, and Levi turned the phone so I could watch. While he pushed his underwear down his legs, I rushed to shimmy out of my tank top and sleep shorts.
“Now stay right there and hold this,” I heard Levi say but couldn’t see him.
The screen jumped around a little, and then suddenly Levi was on his knees beside the bed, as Austin stood in front of him, holding the phone out so I had a clear view of both of my men.
I’d watched Austin go down on Levi before, and they weren’t shy about touching each other whenever we were together now, but I’d never seen Levi return the favor before. And I wondered if maybe it was his first time.
Levi’s gaze was fixed on Austin’s erect dick, and Levi licked his lips before lowering his head to take Austin into his mouth.
Austin groaned, closing his eyes briefly before looking directly at the camera. “Spread your legs and show us how much this is turning you on.”
I did as he asked, sliding a finger over my slit and began circling my clit. My gaze locked on Levi sucking Austin off, and I let out a small whimper when we made eye contact through the phone.
“That’s it,” Austin encouraged. “Let us see how you take care of yourself when we’re not there.”
From this angle, it was hard to see, but I caught a glimpse of Levi sliding his hand into his boxers and pulling out his cock so he could stroke it while bobbing up and down Austin’s length.
I bit my lip, enjoying every moment of their show. My fingers worked furiously against my throbbing clit, and I knew it wouldn’t take much for me to climax.
“You look so fucking beautiful.” Austin’s gaze flicked from my face to my drenched center.
My breathing picked up and I moaned, “Oh god, I’m so close.”
Austin reached down and wrapped his hand around the side of Levi’s neck. “Me too,” he said before pulling out of Levi’s mouth. He pumped his shaft a few times and came all over Levi’s chest.
At the same time, I saw Levi shoot his load into his fist, and that was all it took for me to come, my body shuddering until I was left panting.
“Holy fuck, that was amazing.” Austin helped Levi off the floor.
I nodded. “We need to do that every road trip.”
They nodded, and Levi said, “I think we can make that happen.”
